There are good companies to work with and then there are great. This company is better than great. Everyone we interacted with here were polite, professional and knowledgeable. The job not only got done exactly as they said it would, but even finished early. Their communication throughout the project was phenomenal and they answered every single question we had. They even took time to discuss stain colors and stopped what they were working on to help me decide. From start to finish they are by far one of the best, if not the best, contract company I’ve ever worked with. As an added bonus, we had to work through insurance and when we told the insurance company we found a flooring company we wanted to work with, they didn’t even flinch. Even the insurance company knows what a great reputation this company has and agreed to work with them. Highly recommend to anyone for anything floor related. Our floors look great!

I am so impressed, here in NC is hard to find a good reliable company in construction, I suffered for three years with bad work and unreliable workers. 123Floor was above reproach, from moving our furniture to last day of work they were most professional and the work is impeccable Thank you Dave and crews you made this ordeal a breeze, I highly recommend this company !!!! Dave came out- looked at the job. They were here within a week. Neat, clean professional. It was very nice to see the Owner Dave actually working on the floors sanding and staining. Wasn’t expecting that in today’s day and age. Truly great company, I read some of the iffy reviews but I called for a quote, when I mentioned the reviews he was humble and said “I’ll sand your floors, if you’re not happy- don’t pay” what did I have to lose. Floors were perfect.

After the first application we noticed bubbles and debris in the finish. we brought this to the attention of the company and they agreed to return and repair multiple areas of damage. It took three weeks to schedule the return repair work. When that work was completed the outcome was so bad ( human hair, brush bristles, pine needles embedded in the finish and white footprints across the living area floor) that even the company representatives agreed that the floor needed to be completely redone. One week later they returned to refinish the floor. They missed their appointment by three hours. We left the house for three days. On return we noticed the bathroom fan was running. We then examined the floor and found human hair embedded in the kitchen floor, multiple areas of debris under the finish,areas of rippled finish (fish eye), and the refrigerator floor vent was stuck to the floor finish. We returned to the bathroom and discovered that the commode handle chain was broken and there was evidence of a bad bowel event. We called the company and asked that they come and unstick the refrigerator vent. That appointment was missed. Three days later a worker unstuck the vent but did not repair the globs of hard finish from the floor. Following this work the owner of the company would not answer phone calls. We used a different phone and he answered immediately. He then agreed to come to the house to repair this problem but did not meet the appointment or call. The owner consistently did not return calls or visit the house to review our concerns regarding the work.We were five weeks with a disrupted home (furniture and carpets out of place) and we still do not have a satisfactory product.We do not recommend using this company for hardwood refinishing work.

Great price, quality work, knocked out job for me in a very tight window I needed before movers came.

I called Dave at 1-2-3 Floors and 2 other contractors to bid on my damaged bathroom floor. Dave came to my residence right away to provide a free estimate. He assessed the damage and provided a quote that was contingent on what they found once the floor was removed. He was able to work me into his schedule in only a couple of days. I gave 1-2-3 Floor the job over the other 2 contractors based on Dave's professionalism and thoroughness. 1-2-3 Floor showed up on time and did a fantastic job. Dave came by to make sure the work was done to his satisfaction. I was extremely impressed with the care they took to ensure the work was done correctly and clean up the mess afterwards. I would definitely recommend 1-2-3 Floor for any flooring job.

1-2-3 Floor, Inc. provided an exceptional service experience at a great price. We recently purchased a home and wanted to enhance our wood floors prior to moving in. While we didn't think our hardwoods needed a full sand and refinish, the woods were dull, scratched and needed attention. After consulting with Dave from 1-2-3 Floor, he was candid and honest confirming that a buff and coat would bring the wood back to life without the unnecessary cost of refinishing the floors. It was reassuring to have a service provider focused on matching us with the right product rather than pushing us towards a more expensive project. After researching price quotes from other providers, 1-2-3 Floor offered a competitive price and we agreed to do the work. Once engaged, Dave and his team worked quickly and responsively to deliver the service. They showed up on time and were exteremely polite and professional. After the services were complete, Dave spent the time to review the project with me and educate me on specific actions moving forward regarding cleaning, etc. The end product is amazing - you'd think we put in brand new floors. The buff and coat services added years to our floors and helped us avoid an expensive refinishing project. A big thank you to Dave and the 1-2-3 Floor, Inc. team. I highly recommend the buff and coat services, and given my overall service experience I would use 1-2-3 Floor for future projects.

This is the first company I have ever wrote a review regarding the excellent service and value. 1-2-3 Floors was recommended to me by a nieghbor who had a great experience useing their services. I contacted the company and set up an appointment for the estimate. The owner (David) came to my home with one of his installers and they took measurements and left several samples of carpeting I could select. They took the time to explain the differences in the carpet quality and I selected a quality brand. The date of the instalation they were at my home right on time and began to move furiture and my belongings carefully and proffessionally. They installed the carpet within several hours and they cleaned up after the job was done. They placed my furniture back in its place and left my home. Their proffessionalism, curticy, fair price, and the quality of the instalation are worthy of praise. I highly recommend this company and will utilize thier services in the future.

Just as Dave said it would. On-time, excellent work! They moved all of my furniture, performed the work on my hardwood floors, took out old carpet and padding, installed new padding and carpet, then replaced ALL the furniture for me because I have a disability. I WILL BE USING THEM IN THE FUTURE!!!!

I was extremely please at how quick Dave got back to me after purchasing his coupon from Angie's List and even more amazed at his and his staff's professionalism, punctuality and efficiency. I truly did not believe that they would be done in the time Dave said they would, but they were. I am a very happy camper today at how beautiful those floors look. 1-2-3 Floor gets an A plus, plus, PLUS in every category. I highly recommend them.

David Naylor, owner of 1-2-3 Floor, was very professional in analyzing the damage and providing alternatives to solving the replacement flooring. We chose travertine tile in case there were future problems with water. The tile would have a better chance of surviving water issues. He was also a qualified mold mitigation contractor and identified mold caused by the water that had seeped into the subflooring. The tile install was perfect. Could not be more satisfied with the results. His team was always on time and were expert installers. The mold mitigation effort was very thorough and should prevent any future return of the mold spores. David is truly a pleasure to work with and always strives to satisfy the needs of the client. If you have flooring needs I strongly recommend considering this company.

The repairs went well, replaced warped flooring.

Things went great, Dave and his team did exactly what was discussed. Floors look awesome, house clean, finished on time and budget. Have lots of friends who move to the area who use 1-2-3 Floor and have said great things about them. Very pleased.

The stain is poorly applied. We have swirl marks from the sander. Areas were missed. The boards are uneven and have separated. It is difficult to get them to follow up. When they did they put the wrong finish on the stain. Not at all happy and would never recommend them.

The crew was polite and did an excellent job. I have no complaints about the work or the professionalism of the crew and Dave. The floors look great. They moved all the furniture, installed, put back the furniture in place.

Company owner David Naylor was professional, knowledgeable, flexible and informative throughout the process. Since I was 1000 miles away at the time, we worked by phone. His crew did an excellent job getting rid of the sanding dust. He sent me before and after pictures, by phone, of the sun-line area; he sent two color pictures of stain colors so I could choose the one I preferred -- a very successful choice. When I met David and my new floors, the color and finish were just fine. But the shoe molding was just a little rough, so he and his fix-it guy appeared at 8 the next morning to recoat the surface. I'm a happy customer.

They came highly recommended from a co worker. I got a few other estimates, we had really bad sun fade marks, 2 other contractors told me it wouldn't come out. Dave with 123 told me it wasn't a finish defect and not the wood. He was right it sanded right out. Needless to say I was impressed by his knowledge and his crews work ethic. Very easy to communicate with. All around good experience.

Very professional! We met at his shop and picked out our floors. The install was done in an extremely short period of time in comparison to what I thought they would be. Then they came out and put samples of colors and finishes down. Dave was very accommodating with what we wanted and our timeframe. Even if he didn't call us right back, he did what we requested on the message we left. We would walk in and it was done.

1-2-3 Floor did such a beautiful job repairing the damaged flooring caused by our leaking fridge and then refinishing all of our hickory floors. They look absolutely stunning and the process from start to finish was amazingly simple. We really appreciated the knowledge, recommendations, professionalism and care they took with moving our belongings in and out! Excellent work all around!

Although the initial job was wholly inadequate and poor in terms of product as well as professionalism of actual crew (leaving house dirty etc), Dave Naylor has remedied that. At the time we expressed our extreme displeasure. Dave Naylor was very honest and acknowledged the ways in which the job had gone wrong. As Dave reviewed the floors, he apologized. Here are some quotes said to me personally: 1. When asked if he saw and acknowledged the same damage we did when looking at the floor, his reply was " I always say the customer is right until the customer isn't right. In this case, yes, I see exactly what you are saying - you are right - and I am so sorry. 2 "I always stand by a job. I'm not selling you. I never walk away from a job. I will be here until the problem is fixed. I will be here every day if need be." It is now October and I can say that Dave stood by his word and came through with his promises. He withstood our anger and frustration and asked to come redo the job to our satisfaction. It is October and he has done just that and its turned out beautifully. This was a different crew (which I think had a lot to do with it) and Dave had explained that there had been a problem with the batch of stain he had received and its ability to mix with the polyurethane. He had gone back to the manufacturer and corrected for this. It is obvious that was indeed part of the problem because the floors look NOTHING like they did originally. They are truly beautiful, as Dave had promised. They were done in a timely way to our convenience, as they moved our furniture for us this time. This crew was friendly and professional - leaving the house almost spotless with no stains along the baseboard etc;. and incredibly little to no dust, which is quite a feat. 1 2 3 Floors had done the floors of our neighbors on either side of us and they came out wonderfully. Now we can say the same. I believe that our negative experience was due to a confluence of unfortunate factors originally and I give a lot of esteem to people who are honest and own a mistake and fix it. Thank you Dave for coming through. We appreciate it.

July 2013 Update: After reading the above review by a customer on December 26, 2012, I wanted to amend my comments. I also had a horrible experience. I can relate to what the above customer is saying. We had stain dumped in our yard, but it did not kill the grass....instead it leaked through our wooden retaining wall and left 6' vertical steaks that are still visible. We still have to plan on sanding down that wood and somehow stain over it, another chore that we now have to do. Also, we paid for "waterbased" finished, and they used the cheaper oilbased. How do I know this?? I used waterbased polyurethane to touch up some spots they messed up on and the poly flaked off. I called the manufacturer and they said if I used waterbased over oilbased finish, it would flake. Also, it is yellowing, which waterbased does NOT do, according to Dave Naylor. We had our floors refinished, but they failed to fill in any previous dents and dings, so they are as prominent as ever. They also replaced a floorboard (using a plank we provided them that was leftover from the original floor) and the plank is 1/16 lower than the rest of the floor. Dave said we would have 3 coats of finish, but I believe we received 1 coat of stain, 1 coat of sealer, and 1 coat of oilbased poly. One coat of poly is not enough to protect the floors from normal wear and tear. I specifically told Dave that I did not want any of the poly to get on our newly-painted baseboards, and he assured me that not only would the shoemolding be pre-finished before it was nailed in place, but that the waterbased poly does not yellow. Now, 6 months later, the baseboards are full of yellowed poly where they sloppily applied it. And my biggest disappointment was the fact that they removed all the oak shoemolding, including the specialized circular piece around the stair tread, and replaced it with cheap shoemolding (not oak) and they never replaced the circular piece. They said they would be back to do it, and then after several weeks, they said our stair guy should do that. If they knew it was a custom piece, they should have saved the old one and reused it. They are dishonest, offer poor quality, and no customer service.
