WE DODGED A BULLET! We purchased a New Whirlpool Refrigerator in Nov 2020. 3 months later we were not getting the same water pressure from the water dispenser, it came out in a trickle. I had checked water pressure in whole house which was fine. Checked supply line behind fridge and attempted calibrating without success. Registered and scheduled service appointment with Whirlpool online since it us under warranty. Received call from Rocks Appliance Service almost immediately and appointment was confirmed. When Rock and his assistant arrived he was more interested in telling us about where he and his wife were from as well as his assistant. He also asked where my wife and I were from and about our careers. Seems he was sizing us up for how much he could charge beyond Whirlpool's warranty (we wouldn't have to pay anything). Rock had his assistant take out the filter and from that he determined we would need a new filter housing (?). He then informed he would order the part. He also mentioned something about the valve may need to be changed BUT never pulled fridge from wall or took off the back of the fridge to check if the valve indeed was an issue. He received a phone call then proceeded to head for the door stating he had a personal matter and would be in touch when the part arrives. Upon his departure my wife and I scratched our heads feeling uncomfortable with the experience. We decided to check the manual again. We also contacted a family friend who is a general contractor. My wife also checked the online reviews for Rock Appliance and discovered several negative reviews and low ratings. We then felt more uncomfortable with allowing Rock to return to our home or charge for something we didn't need or keep guessing what might be the cause. After watching a few online videos which others suggested the filter itself may need to be changed earlier than the 6 month recommendation. I purchased and installed a new filter which to our surprise fixed the problem! Our old fridge kept same pressure even when filter was 6+ mos. So this is new for us. I contacted Whirlpool and Rock to inform we had resolved the issue and close the work order. The woman at Rocks Appliance interrogated me and insisted I explain how I fixed the issue as she had already ordered the part. I didn't tell her I had changed the filter but that I rechecked the water line. Her tone appeared as if she was upset and disappointed that they wouldn't get any money from us (no card on file or info given) for an unnecessary part. I hope this helps others to avoid Rock Appliance and to check other customer experiences first for repairs before paying hard earned money for simple fixes.

Brought a basic GE dryer up after changing the belt to address a screeching noise. They told me the belt was an inch too short, fine, cool. My belt was $9.99 this would be $28.99 after a $32 checkout fee. Authorized. Called me back, pulley's shot, authorize another $11, no prob. Now power cord is shot, power switch is shot. Up to about $148. I really need this dryer back, no problem sigh, do it. Calls back half hour later, Timer is shot that's gonna be another $94. Ok. lol I just washed some clothes and need a belt put on. What do you have to sell? They got one for $225, not as good as mine, but ready to go. Ok, I'll be up there in 15 minutes let's do it. Pull up 14 minutes later at 5:33, no one there. Left me in the dust. Went to Re-appliance and bought another one for $200 much better. Now I'm sitting here thinking I just got my GE dryer stolen. I'm told this Rock guy is a good guy, he needs to have a more active role in his business, supposedly on commissions and government. I hope he's a good dude but his business he left in the hands of others completely sucks. I own a small business and love them, but this is not how we do each other in this part of NC.

Initially, they were nice - had to wait a while for appointment but that was ok. After they completed the maintenance on the fridge, it was having more condensation on the inside than before. I have called back 3x to try to get this corrected and spoke with one of the receptionists every time. They say they are giving my information to rocky but no one has come by or called me back. I will be calling someone else next time - don't need to be treated like that.

We've used Rock's Appliances many times over the past twenty years but have not reviewed them for this List before. They are always wonderful to work with, knowledgeable about repairing appliances or re-installing in new locations, and reasonably priced. They also sell/install new. The entire staff is courteous and patient with questions and schedule changes.
