Would not use this company for seamless gutter installation. Chuck R was the Sales Representative of the two projects that I contracted with P&P. The project was completed about 4 years ago and was never corrected to my satisfaction. The gutters would never drain correctly leaving standing water which eventually started to leak in unsealed corners decaying the soffit wood which had been replaced prior to this project. There were also a multitude of excessive screws used to attach the gutters to the soffit which were also not sealed and became problem areas leaking into the exposed soffit wood which now needs replacing. Both of these projects will have to be revisited at my expense due to the lack of quality control by the P & P representatives.

Got Pettus and Pender's name from our home builder, as they did the original home insulation. Contacted the person who our builder gave us as a contact by phone...was asked to send an email. Sent email. Was told they would stop by to give us a quote on a Monday. No show, no call, no email. Sent a follow up call and email. No reply. Sent another follow up email. No reply. ..Guess they're too busy to reply... So we gave up on using them. ..
Description of Work: Contacted Pender & Pettus to do some insulation repair work for us (we had had another contractor in to do work in our attic spaces, and they messed up some of the blown insulation.)

We had a bumpy start due to being cancelled a few times due to work delays for various reasons (truck wouldn't start, blower broke, etc). Once they arrived, they sent their best guys to come in and do the work beautifully. We are very pleased - It's not even that cold yet and I can already tell a difference in how the house feels. Their estimate was also very affordable. We will definitely use them again for wall insulation in our basement.
Description of Work: Blew in insulation in attic.

I met with this company and explained how I wanted to upgrade the insulation in the walls. They gave me their standard price and the costs of the upgrades. I signed off on their contract and told the builder what I wanted and he relayed it to them. When they came for the install, they only brought their basic stuff. I just happened to be here when they did and I explained that was not what I wanted. The installers called the company and they were told to stop the work. I wouldn’t let them go any further until they put the right product in the walls. Some of the installers had never even or heard of the materials involved with this insulation. When you go and sell someone something, you should ensure that the details are correct. It’s as if the installer was trying to screw me. I didn’t get what I asked for originally, but I got what I asked for eventually. On the scheduled day of installation, they had to order the correct materials as the salesman had never ordered it when the contract was signed. I have no problem with the work that was done and the installers did a good job. However, I have a problem with the fact that the salesman was not prepared for the materials that I purchased. They did complete the installation of the correct insulation, but I had the builder find another company for the gutters. Beware that you are getting what you are paying for.
Description of Work: I wanted my home to be an energy star home to be the most energy efficient that it can get. The builder was going to have them do the insulation in my home.

It has always gone well. I have recommended them to friends, family, and real estate customers.
Description of Work: I have used Pender and Pettus several times in the past on rentals, properties for sale and on my own residence. The price is fair, the installation is well done and fast. When I have had a call back they have come right out to fix the problem. I am very satisfied with the professionalism, the price, the product and the end result. I will call them the next time I need gutters.

The workers were prompt and even though it was a very hot day and attic temps reached 110 degrees they still completed the work on time and paid attention to detail.
Description of Work: Radiant Barrier applied to the attic of house. Once the install was complete they touched up the insulation and blew more out to bring the insulation depth to what it was after working around it.

Chuck was my first contact with the company, and he was delightful and courteous. He inspected the attic and gave me estimates of several options for various levels of additional insulation. He brought a co-worker in the following day to verify his assessment. Adding insulation had to be preceded by some duct work so I had to hold off temporarily. I had aquired bids from several companies, but Chuck stood out as professional and caring about his clients. Most of the bids were in the same ballpark, however, and Pender & Pettus had no reports on Angies List, so I was still considering others who had been written up as excellent. Chuck checked with me to see how I was doing with my progress and offered at that time a discounted price I could not turn down. After the duct work had been done, Chuck worked with me to get his team here at my convenience, as each day has new conflicts to deal with. It was a very nice experience working with this company and each individual involved.
Description of Work: The 2 young men arrived at 8:30am and immediately began working to protect the carpet from any soil. They laid out plastic runners through the house wherever the large insulating hose would be laying and wherever they would need to walk. They brought the hose in through the nearest window and taught me how to remove my window screens, an added plus! They then tacked up baffles in the attic to contain the thick layer of fiberglass they would be blowing into the area, and covered the old insulation with thick, fluffy fiberglass. It looked like snow banks in the mountains. The 2 workers were courteous and efficient.

It went horrible. They didn't show up the days they were scheduled to. They lied to me about why, when they did finally show up, they only worked for a couple of hours then left. They were supposed to come back the next day and finish. They showed up late left early again and didn't come back until Sunday late PM and then I threw them off the job. They finally sent in another crew to complete the job on Tuesday ( a week after they were supposed to have started and finished it). Very poor communication and workmanship.
Description of Work: They blew insulation into my existing walls and placed batts into some of my ceilings.

First what went well: Juan was a likable guy at first. He pointed out that I needed to insulate the crawlspace which other companies did not ask about. Now for the rest: he quoted me on Insulsafe4 fiberglass ("this is the good stuff") which I've read numerous problems about; it is well-known to be "fluffed" by the manufacturer (filled with air so it's cheaper to make). He also wanted to remove the 4-6" of existing rock-wool insulation; which from my research there is absolutely no reason to. I also just was put-off at the end by constant comments like "I'll give you a deal" and "we'll cut our price for you". My conclusion is that he doesn't know what he is doing and is blowing smoke, or is inflating the cost. I would caution anyone considering using them to double check what you are told, or better yet use someone else.
Description of Work: Juan came out to provide an insulation estimate for a 2000 square foot split level.

Two story house, built 1991, 3000 sq ft. Great experience. Showed up on time, were concerned with how they could ensure they didn't damage the house with the hose that was used to blow the insulation - since it has to run from the truck out in the street all the way up to the attic. The technicians were polite, took off their shoes while in the house (without having to be asked), and cleaned up any stray insulation they saw after they were done, as well. It was a good overall experience and I would use them again. We did try to get a few other quotes from companies on Angie's List (insulation companies are hard to find here): one company - a remodeling company - admitted that they would probably sub it out, while the other took 3 days to get back to us.
Description of Work: Blew in 18 inches of cotton-fiber insulation to reinsulate our attic, replaced old/fallen baffles.

I TRIED SO HARD TO GET A QUOTE FROM THESE GUYS. MET WITH ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, CALLED AND CALLED AND CALLED BUT NEVER GOT A WRITTEN QUOTE. I HAD THAT PROBLEM WITH MORE THAN ONE INSULATION COMPANY, AND IN THE END HAD TO USE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT GAVE ME A QUOTE. CRAZY!

INITIAL CONTACT WITH SALES REP. WAS FINE. GETTING A FOLLOW-UP WRITTEN ESTIMATE AND COPY OF WARRANTY TOOK A LOT OF PHONE WORK ON MY PART, THOUGH THE RECEPTIONIST WITH WHOM I DEALT WITH WAS VERY NICE. INSTALLATION CREW SHOWED UP ON TIME AND WORKED VERY EFFICIENTLY. INSTALLATION WAS EXTREMELY DIRTY--CREW SLID LARGE BALES OF INSULATION ACROSS MY HARDWOOD FLOORS AND THEN ROLLED THEM DOWN STAIRS; CREW PUT DIRTY HAND PRINTS ON MY WALLS AND DOORS; CREW WAS NOT COMPLETELY PREPARED FOR INSTALLATION (I HAD TO PROVIDE A STOOL SO CREW COULD REACH THE CEILING); COMMUNICATION WAS DIFFICULT WITH CREW DUE TO LANGUAGE BARRIER.
