Horrible. The job was not finished. When they left f, urniture and shades were thrown all over the condo. We asked them to clean up and put the shades back like they were before they took them down. They said sure but left the shades thrown on the floors and the beds. The furniture was left all over the place. They wore dirty shoes and made the carpeting dirty and did not finish the job either. We just moved in a few days ago and do not have tools. They knew this but sleezed out like the snakes they are.

Very punctual, professional and trustworthy. Workers were EXCELLENT!

They were supposed to give me a quote, but I never heard back from them. They were fine when they were out there, but I just felt they didn't want the job.

Gary told me if we could be patient with when he could come do the job, we would not be disappointed. This was completely true, as his crew did an awesome job. They came the day they said they would at the time we were told. A contractor friend of mine was over at one point during the installation and was completely impressed with the quality and workmanship of what he saw, adding that very few roofing contractors in this area do the extra work that is more common in colder climates, but of equal benefit in this area as well. The only issue is responsiveness prior to job start, but he did tell me that when we talked early on. Once the job was started Gary was completely available for calls and if he did not answer, he called back quickly. I was completely satisfied with the whole experience and can absolutely recommend this company.

I called and left a message to request a roofing repair... that was 5 days ago. He appears to have voice mail, but no office help to arrange his appointments. No one from this company has contacted me to schedule an appointment, question the work needed....

Gary was the most professional and detailed of all of the 5 people I received quotes from. He seemed to know the most about roofing, most willing to do extra work to make sure it was done correctly and he was the least expensive. His crew worked at a correct pace - not so quick to rush the job. Clean up was very good, I have not found any nails yet and only a couple scrap pieces of shingle in the whole yard. He checked in every day to make sure I was happy. The experience went very well. I highly recommend him.

The work went over really well. Everything about them stood out to me. They did a great job of cleanup, with the quality of their work, and the speed they did it in. They were punctual and everything. They were definitely the cheapest compared to everybody else from whom I got estimates. The roof tiles that they used were the same tiles that I wanted to get from another store. They were 40 year tiles and were top of the line. They allowed me to pick out different ones but that?s what I wanted. They did a great job. If need be, then I would use their services in the future too.

Gary Konecny is the owner of the company and G & S Construction of NC is a contracting company. They did a great job. They charged about $5000 for the roof, $1400 for replacing the dormer windows and $500 for the gutters. My interaction with them was very good. They did excellent work and the materials were really good. The only problem was that it took them a long time to complete the job. It took more than a month. There was some garbage from the construction on my lawn and they did clean it up when they were done. They did the roof very quickly, but they took a long time for the smaller jobs. However, they ended up doing a really good job overall. The quality of their work was good and the price was good too. They were one of the few people I called for an estimate that took the time to actually talk to me and showed me the difference. I could make comparisons too. The other people I contacted just came by to take a look at my house and e-mailed me the numbers. Those companies really didn’t have the time to talk about the job. I highly recommend G & S Construction of NC. Overall, they were excellent. I would use their services in the future too.

We purchased a new home and had to have a new roof put on quickly after closing. Gary and his team were prompt and worked hard in terrible heat conditions. They removed our roof and were sure to protect our gutters, shrubs and bushes. The removal of the roof was clean and I did not have to pick up any nails when they were done. They put on a new roof and made all repairs necessary. We had one minor leak from a failed seal and Gary was at our home with-in 2 hours of our call to him. They priced the job fair and based on the quality received I would suggest them to anyone.

We used them when we moved. They did an excellent job. I don't remember the cost. We went along with them because they could get to us quickly. They did the work fast and they did a great job. The price was pretty good. I would consider using them in the future.

I had a very positive experience from the roof replacement done by G&S Construction. I live in North Charlotte and the company has done many jobs in the area. The combination of excellent references and agressive pricing led to my decision to select G&S. The owner Gary Konecny prices all jobs and supervises the work. At this time he has only one crew and they have been with him over 5 years. Gary is a straight shooter and honest about what his company can and cannot do. Customers should expect to be somewhat flexible on the work scheduling because of the effect that weather can have with only one crew. G&S did not ask for any advance deposit; however the customer should be prepared to make full payment immediately upon completion. Gary was readily available by phone during the project; however he was more difficult to reach both before and after. Be prepared to leave messages and wait.

Gary and his crew did a great job from start to finish. He was on time to measure the roof, provided an estimate quickly, and was able to answer all of our questions. He even brought several colors of actual shingles out to help us choose a color (not just the sample board). His crew was very considerate and did not leave any debris behind. Everything was clean at the end of each day.

These guys were great. I was really impressed with their work and how quickly they managed to get everything done. My wife wanted a wall torn out and they did this in a very workmanlike manner and professionally headed off the opening. They also did the kitchen remodel almost entirely from demo and replacement of the sub-floor to painting. They also did a killer 16' x 24' deck! It looks so awesome, my wife couldn't believe it. We just told Gary the dimensions we wanted and where to put the stairs and it was done in one day, no kidding. They also did everything on the outside of the house from vinyl siding to gutters. We will use them again.

I had a Great Experience working with Gary Konecny and the G &S Construction Crew. Because I value a good roof on our home, I spent some time selecting the contractor. I gathered six estimates from the top performers on Angie's list. I checked their records with the BBB. The BBB eliminated several. Then I personally went to the Roofing Supply Group on Westinghouse to solicit employees recommendations and check on roofers reputations. Gary's name came up as a quality job at a fair price. Gary's estimate was similar to two other estimates, but I chose him based on four criteria: 1. My impression of him (during our meeting and from recommendations)and ability to work with him 2. His being knowledgeable and committed to completing the job using criteria that result in a high quality installation 3. Knowing that he uses the same crew that has been with him for over 5 years for homeowner, non- commercial roof installation. (ie the Angie reviews you read are about the crew that will be installing your roof) 4. Did not push an inappropriate form of ventilation for the hip roof like a ridge vent on a very short ridge (there are now new hip and ridge vent systems if you fancy) or insist on installing electric vent fans (expensive)in a 20 yr old house without wiring if he he did the job. Used existing gables and rotary turbines. The crew got to work and completed the roof installation in two days. I am female and felt very comfortable coming and going from the house. The men are Hispanic and work very well together. In the past I have had difficulty communicating with a crew that was Hispanic (Someone would speak English, but it was not the crew chief or a worker with the appropriate influence or desire to address the matter at hand). With Gary's crew my questions and concerns were understood and addressed well. The couple of times I needed to touch base with Gary, he was either at the site or a phone call away. Every time I checked on the crew they were on task and completing the job in a conscientious manner. When problems arose, they were taken care of. A cricket behind our chimney was modified to improve the flow of water. And a triangular gable frame was rebuilt when the old one broke after the crew was trying to properly flash and accommodate the thicker 30 yr shingles. We are very happy with G&S. After two months and some heavy rain storms I can say that they did a great job installing our roof.

Gary arrived as scheduled to provide an estimate. He was the only one of three bidders who actually went up on the roof to examine the house prior to bidding. Gary was personable and explained everything in detail that he would be quoting. His proposal was detailed and it itemized all options. He included a quote for linear footage rates for wood replacement. G & S had the lowest price and covered all of the work that I was considering doing. Gary helped in the selection of the shingle color. His crew arrived as scheduled and worked from early morning until dark, and they cleaned up the construction debris every day before they left. The crew was friendly and courteous, and they paid attention to details. They also replaced some rotted wood around two windows at a very reasonable price. They painted all the wood that was replaced.

We had roof damage due to a hail storm and we called several companies for estimates. G & S Construction who gave us the best estimate came out and did a fantastic job. The crew arrived 15 minutes early and were set up and working by the 8 am start time they gave us. They had to remove the old roof first; they cleaned up as they went along so there was no big mess around the house at any time and they were careful of all the landscaping (which they draped before starting). Once the old roof was removed they checked all the boards and fixed anything that was a problem and replaced the felt that goes under the shingles with new, high-quality material. The crew put the new roof on in the span of a day. They were amazing to watch! They worked quickly and efficiently and before I knew it I had a brand new roof. They cleaned up afterwords, and not just the big things, they got all the little bitty bits out of the lawn and shrubs. The crew that did the work were all very polite and excellent at their jobs. I would use this company again in a heartbeat. They do things other than roofing so I may get the chance to use them since I won't need a roof for another 25 years! We love the way the roof looks and are very happy with the work done.

I cannot say enough good things about Gary and his crew. The job they did was just outstanding. His quote was right on target. His price was extremely competitive and the work was by far the very best workmanship a dollar can buy. His price allowed us to upgrade to a lifetime shingle. What was supposed to be a simple strip off the old shingles and replace with new turned into much more. Due to problems with the initial construction, which I knew we would find, the job turned in to much more. Gary s crew did an excellent job rebuilding several sections of my roof, rebuilding the roof over our bay windows and even replacing some of the vinyl siding. His crew was able to handle and fix any problem they encountered. There was not a language problem, two of his crew spoke good English and the entire crew was very courteous. Gary was always available, he almost always answered the phone and if I left a message he returned it quickly. I was surprised and thankful for the amount of time Gary was on the job site. He even got up on the roof to help, problem solve and inspect the work. I did not expect this much attention from the OWNER of the company. The clean up during and after the job was very meticulous. My roof now is like brand new and is the envy of the neighborhood.

They were very nice. They showed up on time they adjusted their schedule to help fit mine. I would high recommend them. They stuck to their original quote.

Very satisfied with the work but Gary is hard to get a hold of and he missed a couple of deadlines. By far he was the best quote. He gave me an initial time frame and he missed that but he didn't call. But he did explain everything to me.

The job went extremely well and was done in a very professional manner. Prior to any commitment Gary came out and went through what would be done in detail. He worked with my wife to choose the right replacement shingles and made sure she was happy with the choice. He worked with me to make sure I was comfortable with the work that was going to be preformed. At no time, was there any hard selling involved. He sincerely wanted to make sure we were happy with our selection. Everything went according to the schedule we discussed. His crew was very polite and highly efficient. At no time would you see anyone standing around. They worked great as a team and it showed. The job took 2-1/2 days as anticipated and even the neighbors commented on the professionalism as the job progressed. The guys were cleaning up stuff almost before it was hitting the ground. They always left for the day with the area cleaner then when they came. I'm very picky and sometimes difficult to please on projects but I must say, there was not a single issue with any of the work performed. In fact they went beyond what was expected. One of the neighbors was so impressed they hired Gary and his crew to do there house on the spot.

Gary the owner knows roofs and pointed out things that other contractors did not. His crew showed up when he said they would and they went right to work. Except for noise on the roof you would never know that they were there. They also removed a false chimney left over from when we had an oil burning furnace which helped the looks of the roof immensely. One of the best things I liked about the whole experience is that the owner was always easy to contact. When he was unable to answer the phone he would always promptly call back. I liked that! I would highly recommend him to family and friends and my word is very important to me. I would not hesitate to use him again for any services he provides.

I can't say enough about how pleasant the experience was. Mr. Konecny truly cares about his clients and goes beyond the limit to satisfy. Comparing it to my other roofing experiences with former houses it couldn't have been better. They didn't bother me for anything, were prompt, polite, courteous, covered my bushes and hauled away all my debris. He answered his own phone, showed up on time, brought samples as promised, sent us a fax with 3 different prices and choices, no problems at all. He also treated is workers with respect.

The owner gave me a lot of time in the decision making process. He educated me about shingles, gave me a lot of samples. He stuck to his quote. He didn't ask for any payment until the job was completed. The roofers did a good job. They did a very thorough job in cleaning up. They picked up every nail and cleaned up all of their own trash. The never asked to come in my house.

To say that I am not easy to please and very particular is an understatement. However, at every stage of the entire roofing process Gary Konecny and his crew from G&S were just fantastic. Gary made great recommendations for the style and type of 50 year architectural shingle to use and helped me get the right metal for the drip edge and valleys. He was on the job on time every day and he and his crew went at it without hardly ever taking a break. I was especially impressed that they took their time when they found a problem (and there were quite a few, such as rotten sills and joists), and they repaired these professionally before moving on to the next section. So many other roofers would have hidden it from me or covered over a problem in order to get paid and go on to the next job, but Gary's guys are also great carpenters, especially Horacio. I can honestly say that I had the feeling that they took great pride in their work and they did treat my house like it was their own.
