If you need your well serviced, this is the company to call. They answered all my questions over the phone, and showed up the same day when my well pump failed. I had already ordered a pressure tank and pressure switch to install myself, since I knew they were bad, but the pump failed before I could do the work. Miranda, who I spoke to on the phone, answered all my questions and gave me cost estimates. The guys showed up within the hour. They replaced the pump and installed my new pressure switch and tank. Keep in mind the price I note below does not include what I paid for the parts I provided. The crew took pride in their work and answered all my questions. Had water back in a few hours. Can't recommend them highly enough. Great service!

I called on a Friday afternoon in reference to needing a water pressure tank under the house replaced. They stated they could send someone out the next day (Saturday). They called about an hour ahead to let me know the technician was on his way. Keith arrived and got right to work. He was very polite and obviously knowledgeable. He was not disturbed by my watching him work and asking a few questions. I am very pleased with the job Keith did and the quick response by the company. I believe they would have sent someone out yesterday but the situation was not urgent. I am VERY pleased with the response from Mullis and would highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Mullis had been out to the house 18 months ago and stated that the water pressure tank under the house would need to be replaced soon. I opted then not to replace it, but now it needed to be replaced.

I don't normally leave reviews but since I depend on them so much, I am starting to do this to help others. When the water quit working, I was stunned since my husband and old neighbor had just replaced the well pump less than a year ago. I tried to contact a few friends for a reference, and that didn't help. I then went on Angie's List and started hunting. I am a big review reader so I started looking for a well service company based on their rating and reviews. This company had great reviews and a good rating. My husband contacted them and within a couple of hours, their technician was here working on the problem. He was very methodical, and professional and found the problem immediately. Turns out the well pump wiring had broken causing the pump to quit. We also discovered that the new pump was rusting, which is a health hazard. The technician replaced the pump, wiring and then checked our water bladder holding tank. The pressure was very low, so he replaced that too. It was due to be replaced, but it hadn't been a priority. Overall, everything went smoothly and we are so grateful to have had water on the same day the pump quit. Thank you Mullis Well Company for fitting us in your schedule and helping us so promptly. You can live with heat or cold, but you can't live without water! Job very well done and we would highly recommend your company to anyone. Thank you, thank you and God bless!!
Description of Work: My well pump quit working so I wasn't sure what was wrong since I had just replaced it in October of last year - just nine months ago.

There's no worse feeling than getting in the shower after a morning workout and there's no water! I called Allison at Mullis, explained the problem, and she said they would send someone out this morning. Approximately two hours later, the doorbell rang, and Chris, the tech was standing there with a checkout sheet for a pressure switch. I was ecstatic! I work in this industry, and thoughts of having to replace the pump were running through my head so to be able to get water back that easily made my day. Not to mention, he was great about answering questions about ways to improve the pressure in the system as well as a service plan. I really appreciate Allison's responsiveness and for meeting her commitment, and for Chris' professionalism. I love doing business with companies like Mullis, and would highly recommend them.

Called the company and got an appt within reasonable period of time (less than a week). I told them my problem was not urgent. Office called to let me know they would be enroute and to verify that I was at home. Upon arrival 2 men checked the pressure tank under the house. Found a couple minor issues, but stated the bladder within the tank was not punctured. They "recharged" the tank with air (from 6 psi to 20 psi). Stated that the tank should be replaced, but not critical at this time. They offered to change it that day if I wanted. It was getting late in the day and I thanked them but stated that I will replace the tank the next time it fails. I felt like the 2 men working for nearly 2 hours was well worth the $100 I paid. I will definitely use them again.

I called 3 well companies for quotes. All of them provided the same statistics on the state of our well water. All 3 indicated we needed the filter/softener. Not only were the other 2 quotes slightly higher for the fix, they insisted the only was to make this work was to build and insulate a well house for the 2 additional tanks at the well. DL Mullis (Chad) came out and talked through the options and the pros and cons. He recommended we do the easiest and cheapest and most logical approach - dig up a bit, drop the fiberglass tanks in the ground so we can use a well hood (well hoods couldn't house it if installed on top of the ground due to the size of the tanks). That way, we could get to it easy, if there was ever a leak, it is outside, vs in the house, and no need to spend $$ to build an insulated well house (and hence ripping out a lot of our landscape). I called the other 2 quotes and asked why they didn't recommend this approach - they said they didn't think of it but that it would work. Needless to say, those 2 companies will never get my business - will return to D L Mullis as my first call. Also, their quote for services was spot on - equalled exactly what I needed to have and pay. No surprises. Chad and his crew were knowledgeable and friendly and Allison was very responsive and helpful on the phones for scheduling and such.
Description of Work: They installed a neutralizing backwash with water softener, including digging a trench to drain and a cover for the tanks.

They came out the next day, an hour later than they expected, but still very quick considering severe weather had most of NC shut down. My well is way up under the house in a small crawlspace. The plumber I had called a few days before made a mess of it all and had me all nervous that I should expect either a huge repair bill or even to have to pay the city thousands to hook up. I decided that this was a good time to join Angie's List. DL Mullis showed up quickly and dealt with the problem in less than an hour and charged me only $100. So relieved!
Description of Work: I thought my pipes were frozen and called a plumber. Turned out that the well pump was clogged with mud. The plumber sorta kinda fixed it and told me I'd probably have to go to city water. I joined Angie's List and called DL Mullis since they were well specialists. So glad I did. They came out the next day and simply adjusted the pump motor that the plumber screwed up.

We were having a problem with our well not pumping water to the house. I called the company and stated my problem . They were very friendly and professional. They came out within a couple days. The two men that came out, listened to my explanation of what was going on and felt they knew what the problem was. They explained what they would do and would only replace the pump if needed. They replaced the pumped within 1 1/2 hours. They were fast and efficient. I would definately use them again if needed!

The service was very good. They are outstanding, they completed the job in about a day. I would say they are extremely experienced, knowledgeable, skilled and they are an impressive crew to work with. They did a great job cleaning up when they were done. I was impressed with the water pressure we have now compared to what it was before. I would recommend them to my neighbors. We had used them before and have never had any issues with them. The price they give you is what you pay.
Description of Work: They removed a pump that was 60 ft down the well, replaced it with a pump 80 ft down. They also installed a computerized system and replaced the pressure tank.

First, after speaking with Allison and team members about a dozen times (polite and professional even after the number of calls) tried to help me via the phone to get my water to my house. They are AWESOME, but I wasn't able myself to get the water running to the house. They helped me via phone to get the water running to the well head but I couldn't get much else accomplished. I requested a service call and they came out the next morning and used a heater gun to first unthaw the ground and then dug to get to the pipe that runs to the house and used the heat gun to melt the ice in the pipe! They also insulated the well cover to help prevent freezing again. I WOULD RECOMMEND D L Mullis Well Drilling Company to ANYONE who needs well work of any kind. I have used this company before and whenever I need assistance again, they will DEFINITELY be the company I call!!! Thank you Allison and the entire TEAM at MULLIS for everything! Sincerely, Gregg

I lost water to my house on Monday evening and it was too late to get someone out. I found D L Mullis on Angie's list and contacted them first thing Tuesday morning. Allison was professional; she asked the pertinent questions regarding my problem and gave me a time they would be out that day. I was at work and she was able to accommodate me because I had a power cut off AT the well head. This was a huge help as I didn't have to deal with the hassle of getting out of work/call in. I was prepared to put in a new pump and tank as the ones I have are 20+ years old. It turned out that all I needed was a fix to some sort of electric relay, which had corroded. They checked my pressure, inspected the well and made a few recommendations. They could have hit me up for $700 + and replaced the pump and I would have been none the wiser. This kind of integrity is rare these days in many companies. I took a shower last night with increased water pressure....AHHHHHHHH.

Called on a short notice to D L Mullis Well Drilling about my leak at a metal portion of a pipe. Company sent their Technician,Mike out who went right to work and had the situation taken care of within a half hour. Mike advised that this was the original well set up and that what he was doing was only applying a bandage at this time. If in the near future anything else goes wrong he recommends I replace the old with a new set up because I will only be applying bandages again. Mike was very professional and great to work with.

Service was good - responsive and friendly. Price was absurd. $100 for less than 15 mins of work and no parts. They used a compressor to put 25 psi in my Bladder Pressure Tank. They spent more time writing up the invoice than pressurizing my tank. I guess I could somewhat understand if they had made a special trip but they were in the area. I will not be using their services again.

Our service call fee of $100.00 covers our truck, two men, tools, insurance, fuel, and certified well contractors to perform well repairs. That is what we charge to come out and feel that price is fair compared to other water well professionals. We did offer customer a 14 day credit towards a failure.

Woke up Sunday morning to extremely low water pressure. Husband went underneath the house and determined that there was a problem with the well pump and that it would probably have to be replaced. It was running constantly and would not build up pressure. I did the research on Angie's List to find out who to call (thanks to other reviewers). Called on Monday morning and left a message. They were able to come out the same day (arrived at 3:15 pm) and quickly diagnosed the problem. They explained the scope of work and approximate cost. My husband was very impressed with their knowledge and the quality of work performed. The new pump was installed and the system pressurized and checked by 5:00 p.m. The price was very reasonable and the job was done quickly. We would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and neighbors with a well problem. Quality parts, quality work, quality service!

Lost water pressure over the weekend. Had one company come out to quote and the quote was quite high. The technician tested my well water for high levels of iron. I noticed that my water was a little cloudy and a bit redish orange in color. After talking through my options with the technician he suggested that I hook up to the city water and this would be my cheapest option. After it was all done the technician didn't charge me because he knew either way I was going to have to spend a lot of money. I would definitely use them again!

I called Mullis and they sent out a technician who troubleshot and after identifing the problem installed a new pressure switch and checked the system for proper operation. he was knowledgeable and very courteous and told me there would be no charge and apologized for the problem. I would recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Mullis had already installed a new pump and pressure switch however the wire going to the contacts on the pressure switch had become deteriorated and ths caused one of the contacts on the switch to burn and would not make contact. Therefore the pump would not kick on. This caused me to loose pressure on my tank.

Suddenly one day, we were without water. Nothing coming out of the faucets. I came across Mullis Well Drilling on Angie's List and gave them a call. They came out promptly, checked everything, called me at work and said the pump had to be replaced. It was a really old pump so I wasn't surprised. They gave me good cost information over the phone, I gave them the okay and by the time I got home I had running water! Better water pressure too. They're very good at explaining everything to you and answering your questions, which I appreciate so much. I also had the opportunity to find out some things about my well which I didn't know before, as in how deep it was and if our droughts had affected my water supply (they hadn't). Excellent customer service and very enjoyable speaking to them on the phone! If you have a well, these are the people to call!
