We bought a house in late December 2013 that was inspected by a licensed heating and air company. The inspection report showed that the upstairs furnace was old but in and quot;goodand quot; shape. January 20th the furnace stopped working (during the coldest part of last winter). We scheduled a licensed technician to come fix the furnace 1/21/13. The licensed tech reported the unit was and quot;blowing flames outside of cabinetand quot; (my husband witnessed the flames shooting out). The technician reported that he and quot;found cracks in heat exchanges and rust through holes.and quot; The technician disabled furnace due to carbon monoxide risk and fire concerns. The tech told us he was going to order the furnace and would contact us when he could come back with a replacement. We called the company several times - the tech never returned our calls for 2 weeks. Then we contacted Comfort Max. Mike Goldberg came immediately to diagnose the problem. We explained everything that had happened - he helped us feel more comfortable and assured us that he would take care of everything including providing pictures of the cracks in the furnace so we could show them to the company that completed the original inspection (before we closed on the house). We felt very fortunate to have found Mike. He ordered the new furnace as quickly as he could and had it installed within days. Mike made sure we had all the paperwork for the new furnace and provided pictures of the cracks on the old furnace. Our daughter and dog loved him!!! Comfort Max is one of the best companies we have worked with!!!

TEAM ARRIVED ON TIME AND WERE VERY PROFESSIONSAL. THEY COMPLETED THE WORK IN 3 HOURS AND MADE SURE I UNDERSOOD EVERYTHING BEFORE THEY LEFT. ALSO INSTALLED A NEW THERMOSTAT AND 2 CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS.

I am due for another semi-annual check up for summer and have an appointment this week. I will then see if the leak treatment has been successful. The annual service contract is $163.00 for two check ups per year.

The installation went very well. From the beginning Michael was punctual, professional and conveyed the importance of choosing the right unit for our house. The installation went smooth. They arrived on time, performed the installation and cleaned up prior to leaving. Most important we are very pleased with the new system and our house is the most comfortable it's ever been.

Michael was great. He worked with me to find the right size furnace to fit the current space. He did not try to upsell me on a high efficiency furnace (like each of the other contractors did) because he knew we would not be in the house long enough to recoup the cost. I had selected a lesser known brand of furnace made by one of the major manufacturers. The day before the install, Michael informed that he could not get his hands on one of those units; so, he would upgrade me to the national brand at no charge. Michael was punctual at each stage. He performed the work while I was not home and other than the new furnace, we could not tell he had been there. I will definitley be calling Comfortmax for all my HVAC needs.

The prices have been great. They are flexible with making appointments for different things. The employees are excellent, they're very good to work with.

They charged me extra for the oiling of my compressor, however, they asked my permision first.

We called ComfortMax after our previous HVAC contractor made a huge mess of things. Michael Goldberg, the owner of ComfortMax, came out and looked at our existing system, and he immediately knew the entire thing would have to be redone. He predicted we would see water leaking from the flue on the coldest days and the compressors would fail during the first hot days of summer. He was exactly right. It turned out that our previous contractor had not been licensed, the work didn't meet code, and the equipment was damaged beyond repair due to the poor installation. We hired ComfortMax to replace both the upstairs and downstairs units, and everything is working great. They are professional, friendly, and they truly know their stuff.
