+ -1 moreThey had quoted me between $700-900 to have the unit replaced. I called another company to get a second opinion and that company, in short, told me that everything America First had told me was garbage and the replacement wasn't necessary. The other provider found out that a hornet's nest was causing a blockage which he removed free of charge and the system was fine. This was actually the second occasion that America First misdiagnosed an issue with our system so we decided to cancel out maintenance program with them, however they did not respond to repeated phone calls. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office, the company didn't' respond to either of those inquiries so the Attorney General's office advised us to take them to small claims court.
Description of Work: I had a seasonal maintenance plan with them for my heating and air conditioning. They told me that they would need to replace one of my heating units prior to them doing their pre-winter maintenance.

+ -1 moreThey have been unresponsive and they claim that they can not get the part. A week ago they said it would be 7 business days to get the blower motor. It was supposed to arrive on December 31st and it did not arrive. It was then supposed to arrive January 2nd and it still has not arrived. They brought two space heaters, and the renters bought two space heaters also. They do not have a solution to get the heat back on. They sent a guy out today to remove the old blower motor.
Description of Work: They put in a new heating and cooling system in a year ago and we haven't had heat in a couple weeks.

Description of Work: I have been using this company since 7/10/2009. They have been coming to my house to do service work on my air conditioner / heat pump every six months. I have had Adam, Shannon, Logan, Mark, Chuck, and Ted come out to the house. I have signed 2 two year contracts at $280.00 a piece which included 4 check-ups and other perks. My system is 13 years old. They have fixed the following items during their check-ups to assist the system to last longer and run more efficiently. It has not come to the point of simply putting a new system in yet. The items are a 35/3 MF capacitor at $172.50, fan motor at $408, SPP5 booster capacitor at $90, 10 MFD blower capacitor at $97, 30 MFD capacitor condenser at $126, cleaned evaporator coil at $135, have suugested a UV light for small growth in system. The office was always pleasant to deal with and called punctually to set up service calls. Each service tech was punctual and very courteous. They always answered each question and discussed what was being done honestly. They never pressured to have work done just advised of the circumstances and options. I will continue to use the company in the future and when I need to replace the system.

+ -1 moreAt the time I liked that the owner was coming out; he was very knowledgeable but apparently he is not with the company any more so I think my rating may change the next time I deal with them. I am on an annual contract with them and I plan to use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreI have used these folks over the years to keep my aged system running, but this last check it was obvious the time to replace my system had come. Doug and Chuck gave me what I found to be a fair price on a much more efficient system that I hope will save energy dollars for years to come. From start to finish Victor, Steve and Mark came in and went to work. They were conscientious, professional and thorough. The install took three days to complete since new ductwork was called for. For the first time in 12 years the heat in my ranch style home is comfortable in every room, no cold areas. very pleased and I would highly recommend.

They lay out options for you, in the circumstances where you have options. They tell you the pros and the cons when you make a decision, rather than trying to push the most expensive option on you. I would use them in future.
Description of Work: We used America First Heating and Cooling for having a new heating and air conditioning system installed in the month of May.

+ -1 moreTHEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART I NEEDED IN STOCK, AND THEY ORDERED IT FROM THEIR SUPPLIER. THEY SAID IT SHOULD BE IN ON MONDAY. THEY SAID IF IT CAME IN EARLY ENOUGH THEY WOULD INSTALL IT THAT DAY, THE PART CAME IN ON MONDAY AT NOON. I ALSO HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. I HAVE USED THEIR SERVICE SINCE 1999 AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEM. I CALLED THEM ON MONDAY TO SEE IF THE PART HAD COME IN AND THEY SAID THAT IT HAD, BUT THEY WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF ANOTHER JOB AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COME OUT. IT WAS GOING TO BE VERY COLD THAT NIGHT, AND I WAS NOT GOING TO TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. HE COMPROMISED AND SAID HE WOULD COME OUT IF I PAID THE AFTER HOURS SERVICE FEE WHICH I AGREED TO. WHEN I BROUGHT UP THAT THERE WAS NO POINT IN ME HAVING A SERVICE AGREEMENT, HE SAID THAT THE SERVICE AGREEMENT WAS FOR MY BENEFIT BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT MAKE ANY MONEY OFF OF ME BECAUSE I HAVE A NEW SYSTEM. I PURCHASED THE SYSTEM FROM HIM APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO!! I'LL NEVER DO SERVICE WITH THEM AGain (company name is ALLADIN (not America's First Heating and Cooling)
