Eric and his crew did a fabulous job and exceeded our expectations on the major addition to our house. Attention to detail and quality of construction were top notch; the subcontractors were the best available. A special mention of the exquisite tile work that Eric's team member, Shannon, personally crafts (our tile floor in the sunroom turned out beautifully, with a nice perimeter detail; and the master shower is stunning)! The patio is a work of art (subcontracted to experts - Jason and crew are the best). It's a combination stamped concrete and brick inlay with a curved shape -- again, simply stunning and unique! We highly recommend Eric Perry!

I’ll start by straight out saying that I have to give Eric and his team the absolute highest recommendation. Eric and his team are the best we have ever worked with. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Eric S Perry Design and Build. We own a Chapel Hill home that was built in 1970. It was neglected by the previous owner and after 46 years, it needs a lot of work. Last year, we started working with Eric and his team, and after a few months we have finished a very large, complete gut and remodel of our kitchen, living, and dining room. All the rooms are now part of a new open space in the redesigned floorplan. Our awful, enclosed 1970s kitchen was replaced with an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING new contemporary, modern, open floorplan kitchen. We also did a complete renovation of a guest bathroom. The horrid 1970s green tile, green tub, green sink and matching green toilet (yes...green toilet) were completely gutted and replaced with beautiful new finishes and a large, open, glass standup shower. During our initial consultation and planning meetings, Eric and Violet (Eric’s wife and designer) listened what we wanted and Violet helped come up with a great design, plan and budget. They are so easy and a pleasure to work with. You quickly find out that they are really looking out for you. It is so refreshing to have someone keeping an eye out on your budget without compromising on quality or cutting corners. Eric’s attention to detail and quality is commendable. He is a true professional. He is hardworking, highly skilled and has an amazing team. The craftsmanship by Eric and Shannon (Eric’s right-hand man) is unmatched by anyone. Between Eric’s expert woodworking skills, Shannon’s beautiful work on tile and the rest of his team, everything was taken care of. Eric ensures that all of his team completes the work up to his standards. Everyone on the team is very professional and friendly. Communication was also excellent. He was onsite at my house EVERYDAY to meet with me and discuss the status. He will keep you informed of what is coming up and when homeowner decisions need to be made by you. When I was out of town or not available, Eric kept me informed with photos and texts. ESP is Grade A on Angieslist and completely worth it. You HAVE to give Eric a call to at least have a consultation with him before deciding on anyone. Our 1970s home needs a LOT of love and we will be giving him a call again. We are so glad that it is a no brainer to call ESP for our next project.

Engaging with Perry Design and Build was very easy and smooth. Eric and Violet had been recommended by friends of ours who had their house built by the Perry's. Eric found a designer that helped me turn my rough drawings and ideas into a full fledged architectural building plan that was then certified by an engineer and successfully passed through the permitting process in Orange County, NC. Breaking ground was followed by foundation building and the house went up pretty quickly from there. Once the roof was on, Eric and his team were able to get the house closed up before winter and were then able to work on finishing the interior. At all times Eric and his team were polite, professional and most importantly, responsive.

Eric S. Perry Design and Build is simply the best -- honest, professional, masterfully skilled, punctual, neat, detailed, accommodating... everything you would dream of in a contractor. The team of Eric, Shannon and Tim are fantastic. What started out as a "simple" remodeled morphed into a complete gut of one floor, a remodel of a bath/laundry and a remodel of another bathroom. They are highly skilled and superior masters of trim work and tile installation. In addition, ESP works with only superior tradesmen including electricians, plumbers and wood floor installers/finishers. We cannot tell you how pleased we are with the job and plan to hire Eric S. Perry Design for all of our future remodeling projects.

Eric and his team were terrific. Shannon was a master tiler. They listened to my needs and suggestions and helped me with design ideas. Eric always kept my budget in mind and actually completed the job under budget. They were prompt, considerate and respectful of my home and schedule. Absolutely trustworthy, I could leave the house and not be at all concerned. They cleaned up every day and made sure none of their equipment, etc was in the way. They stored some of their equipment in my garage and I came home one day to find they had cleaned the entire garage for me! My master bath is gorgeous - done on time and on budget. Added plus was the great sense of humor they had - made the process fun and left me with a smile every day! I recommend them without reservation - go for it!

We recently purchased a home in which the master bath was non functional and truly hideous. We had several quotes for the renovation. Eric was similar to other providers on price and made several great suggestions with regard to design and layout ideas. We were overwhelmed by the prospect of selecting colors, tile etc. Eric and Violet made it very easy by helping narrow the options and providing schemes so that it would have been impossible to go wrong. Eric came to the house every day during the project. His team, Tim and Shannon, were courteous, professional, and kept us informed of what would happen and when. They cleaned up every dasy and left our garage far cleaner than they foubd it. They were easy and pleasant to work with and it was almost sad to see them go. The final product is gorgeous. Truly looks like it came out right off of HGTV and completely unrecognizable from the awful space it once was. They finished on time and on budget and were meticulous in their work. Couldn't be happier with the final product and Eric will be our go to for all future renovations!!

We just moved into a "new to us" home that had a horrible master bath. Eric's keen eye and attention to detail has turned the nightmare into a dream come true. He and his crew were amazing from start to finish! They got the work done on time and on budget, even though I added extra items along the way. They were meticulous about clean up every single day, and they were fun to be around. My dogs and I miss them, which is not something I would ever thought I'd say about a contractor crew! Eric has an amazing eye and a fantastic design sense. He not only made my bathroom look like a magazine, he reworked the closet so we can fit twice as many clothes in there than before, and he updated our mantel which has totally transformed the living space. We had previously renovated a kitchen and did quite a bit or remodeling on this home and other homes. Eric is the BEST contractor we have ever used. Our project took 7 weeks to complete, Eric stayed on budget and on time. He was at our home EVERYDAY until completion. He and his crew are extremely polite and enjoyable to be around. We miss seeing them now that our project is finished. The work site was cleaned everyday, a mess was never left. Their work is meticulous. Our kitchen and bath came out more beautiful than I could have imagined. We are thrilled. We will be building a new home in a few years and we would not even consider hiring anyone but Eric!

This was our first experience with home renovation and was a very good experience. Eric's estimate did not stray except for unexpected structural issues. The team was professional and a pleasure to have at our home. The deck was built to the highest standards as Eric had promised. He even helped me out with an exterior door that needed to be fixed but was out of my league for home repairs. Eric and his crew were great to work with and I'm recommend them highly to anyone.

As of this week the windows are in across the front of the house and the bedroom is done! I am very pleased and overall the work done to date has exceeded my expectations!! Eric?s trim work is beautiful and he also suggested some other changes that have made a big difference. I love the design of my new closet! I went from a narrow dark closet that ran the length of the room to a very efficient walk in. Both the porch and bathroom are started and progressing nicely. (I will update this review once all is done) Eric and his crew have been exceptional! They are very professional, work very hard, are highly skilled and have very high standards. They have also been very respectful of my space (I work out of my home) including cleaning up at the end of each day and are great with my dogs. I?d also like to add that the process for me to move forward with some long awaited renovations was quite trying and after meeting with a number of contractors it was a relief to meet Eric. I was impressed right away with his experience, knowledge, suggestions, and enthusiasm. Throughout the planning and as the work started, the communication has been great and Eric has been very responsive. Also worth mentioning is that Eric has proven to be very fair and honest. I highly recommend Eric Perry Design and Build and will have them back for kitchen work later this year!!

The bid was $120,000 for the job. He was very professional in explaining the whole process. He explained everything really well and what to expect in his work 2.03 to 2.06. He seemed pretty good.

Eric Perry (ESP Design & Build) is building our house and our experience has been close to ideal. The house is a modern 3500 square foot home with geothermal heating and Energy Star rated windows and insulation. Eric has been actively involved in the design and selection of materials with a close eye on quality and cost. He is attentive to details, has performed tasks on time, and his subcontractors and crew are excellent. His wife Violet, is an Interior Designer, who works as part of his team, has a keen eye for layout and color selections. There have been no major cost overruns and the house will be finished a month earlier than originally anticipated. Everyone who visits is very impressed with the home and the quality of construction. We recommend him him highly and without reservation.

I would call Eric Perry's crew "the dream team"! They were professional in every way, from their promptness, reliability, ease of communication, quality and pride of workmanship, efficiency, and willingness to work with me and my preferences. We trusted them to be in the house when we were away and they were pleasant to have around when we were home. They even helped with additional small things needed by us during that time. Outside purveyors were coordinated, such as the shower door and counter tops without my need to be around for installation. When the tile wall was removed from the shower area, it revealed unexpected major wet rot to structural areas of the house. There was an additional cost for this, but we were charged a reasonable amount for this challenging correction. There was respect for our home during the project implementation. Each day they put down drop cloths to prevent dirt from coming into the house. Plastic sheets were installed to reduce unnecessary dust from creeping into adjacent areas. There was no damage to the wallpaper when removing the existing tile and counter tops.The workmanship of the tile installation was superior. It ended up being a real upgrade to our home!

I wish to write a few words in support of Eric S. Perry Design & Build, Inc. (ESP) located in the Moncure/Pittsboro , NC area as a result of these two projects. Living in Chapel Hill, NC I first met Eric Perry when he responded to my inquiry for a remodeling project my wife and I were considering on our home. Eric was one of three contractors contacted for this project. While the other two contractors informed me that formal bids would not be prepared until a formal contract was signed and then we could have in-depth meetings, Eric Perry was at my house, measuring, reviewing the existing house layout and architectural drawings, and offering many valuable ideas on how best to proceed. The extreme effort and enthusiasm he showed provided a great first impression. As we delved deeper into the project, I noted that Eric had a great deal of building knowledge and first-hand carpentry training and experience. He provided me with several ideas for maximizing storage space and general layout that also would reduce overall costs. These included foundation and subfloor design, window and door selection and placement, and roof and framing detail. Needless to say, we chose ESP for our renovation project, and it was the best decision we could have made. This project was an extensive renovation of our existing home that required complete demolition of the rear wall of the house and a full gut to the back of the house. Eric?s expertise in restoration and renovation paid off for us as many unforeseen events occurred, i.e. out of square walls in the existing structure, offset ceiling heights that interfered with our design of nine and ten foot ceiling heights throughout, and difficulties in running a proper storm water drainage system. These were just a few of the items that emerged as the old structure was removed. Our potential stress over dealing with these issues never materialized because Eric had solutions that he discussed with us right away without losing any precious time towards completion. This was the first time I had ever experienced this level of knowledge and expertise from a building contractor. Eric and his excellent direct employees as well as all of his subcontractors were very professional, friendly, and a pleasure to have around throughout the project. The project was finished on time and on budget which again was a new experience for us. We are thrilled with the final product, and the addition/renovation has improved the home tremendously. Our experience with Eric and Violet Perry was exceptional, and I felt compelled to tell others. One year later we decided to renovate our existing master bathroom and this time the only person I called was Eric Perry. He and his crew provide the finest finish carpentry I have ever seen. Eric is a master finish carpenter and is passing along this learned skill to his team. He and members of his team are honest and trustworthy which is a unique virtue in the world today. The finished bathroom came in below budget and on time once again. The new bathroom greatly enhances our living space and adds much value to the property. The subcontractor that installed the frameless shower door system asked me ?who did the tile work?? because he had never seen such a perfect job. I said ?it was Shannon who works directly for Eric?. The tile work is exceptional and Shannon used an epoxy based grout so we never have to worry about mildew or mold forming on the grout lines. Lastly, I just finished a walk-through of a brand new house ESP Design & Build, Inc. is just completing in Alamance County. Before arriving, my expectations of quality and design were quite high based on my personal experience with Eric. However, even these high expectations were exceeded as I walked through the structure inside and out. The attention to detail, use of space, and finish carpentry is so superior to other new home construction that I have encountered in our area. Just as in our two renovation projects, I could see numerous ingenious and creative touches personally provided by Eric to the future homeowners. Some of these include custom made cabinetry, innovative deck and railing design, green energy throughout, exteriors that are impervious to water and rot, and creative finish trim that is unique to the space. Because Eric had done an excellent job with the complete remodel of our kitchen and Master Bath last year, we were confident to call him to do this front door project. He had earned our trust on a major remodel, and again he came through. The job was started and completed as promised, with attention to every detail and thorough clean up when the project was completed. We couldn't be happier with the result.

From the initial inquiry for a bathroom estimate, Eric responded promptly, and came within the week to see the bathrooms. We had three additional estimates done from other general contractors, and Eric?s was the most affordable. Beyond the excellent price, the communication during the process was excellent, and we always knew exactly what was going on and how the project was progressing. After choosing this company, the work began smoothly, but a structural problem was found. Although this was a surprise, Eric and his team explained everything very clearly and provided a revised estimate for the work. Wanting to be as diligent as possible, we brought three additional contractors in to give a new estimate with the structural repairs, and again Eric?s estimate was the most reasonable by far! After that, the work ran so smoothly and quickly. The entire team, and especially the foreman on the project, was extremely conscientious throughout the whole remodel. They were always on time and worked solidly from 8:30am -5:00pm every day for weeks. They were clean, considerate, and very diligent with their work. Beyond that, the quality and detail of the work was superb. We are in love with the new bathrooms. The powder room is a completely different space, and the guest bathroom is the perfect blend of function and beauty. We could not be happier, and knowing that Eric and his team have such high quality craftsmanship gives us great confidence in the soundness of the new bathrooms. Eric also guarantees his work, and I truly feel that if there were ever a problem, I could send him an email, and he or one of his team members would be over within the week and have the problem fixed without another question. That is a truly priceless thing. We have no reservations in recommending this company for any home repair needs. Eric S Perry Design will be our only contractor for all future projects. We are so happy with the bathrooms that I would not be surprised if we had Eric do the kitchen soon!

The project was perfect. Construction started immediately upon finalizing contract and finished within 8 weeks. Mr. Perry met every commitment and every schedule checkpoint. His men and his subcontractors were extremely dependable, courteous, and professional. Mr. Perry is a craftsman and perfectionist who ensures that every aspect of the job was completed to his exacting standards and our complete satisfaction. I had obtained job estimates from 5 contractors and Mr. Perry was by far the most knowledgeable, the most responsive and extremely cost competitive. Our house is fairly new, but if there are ever thoughts of further renovations, Eric Perry will be my first and only call. I was 100% satisfied with every aspect of this job: quality, timeliness, expertise in design consultation, and price.

We have used Eric?s services before on a previous project, which was doing the finish work in our basement that was lacking the final wall covering and window and door treatments. We wanted authentic Arts and Crafts woodwork, which is one of his favorite periods. He is the true craftsman for which that movement was named. Each wall, window, and door frame received individual attention. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Eric's eye for design exceeded anything we had in mind. Once we saw a sample of what he envisioned for the woodwork, we "turned him loose," confident in his abilities and eye for detail. He converted an unfinished storage area into a warm, inviting space that everyone in our family, and visitors, gravitate toward. When our new project started taking shape, we waited until Eric could schedule us. No reason to risk quality or satisfaction with someone else when Eric had already proven himself so well. The new project started small but grew bigger in a good way. We needed to renovate some existing decking, stairs, and railing. Eric proposed a much better looking, sturdier, and longer-lasting design, and we could tell right away that it was going to be all those things. As the renovations proceeded, we expanded our plans to include removing an old metal carport, replacing it with a garage attached to the house, and adding a small deck on the rear of the garage. Eric provided all services from start to finish. He was very mindful of budget, but would not scrimp or take shortcuts that reduced quality. He is trained, and very qualified, in all aspects of homebuilding and renovation. His experience in historic preservation and rehabilitation give him a unique perspective and valuable experience. He is dedicated to using the safest and sturdiest techniques, sometimes exceeding code standards, because he wants to do a job that both he and the owners will be proud of 30 years from now.
