Contacted Bob Saye just before the Fourth of July holiday. He came out the evening before the 4th to look over the job, then hand delivered a written estimate to me the next day (we had no internet/e-mail yet). Two young men arrived the following day to start the work. They were pleasant, courteous, focused on their tasks, and listened to my questions and ideas. Bob Saye arrived to supervise the replacement of the foyer fixture. Jeff, one of the electricians, took pains to clean the glass bell jar and Bennett offered to touch up a spot on the fixture with some paint (it was a used fixture). I was delighted with the results! Bob provided guidance on the under-cabinet lighting job as to what type of light fixtures I could purchase. His men went under the house to wire it all to one dimmer switch. Since one of the new fans I had purchased was defective, Bob Saye himself came on a Saturday to switch it out, no charge. Fair, decent, excellent service & responsive.
Description of Work: Multiple electrical and lighting jobs performed after I moved into the house. Replaced fixture in 2 story foyer. Installed under-cabinet lighting in kitchen and wired to dimmer switch. Installed 2 ceiling fans. Installed exterior fixture on deck. Installed numerous dimmers. Repositioned "eyeball" lights over fireplace mantle and in master bath. Hooked up wiring for attic power vent fan.

I called and a person answered the telephone on the second ring. I was immediately given a date to expect service that was suitable to me. Two employees appeared 10 minutes early and did their work to our satisfaction. I was told I would be invoiced and received bill within 3 days. They did what they said they would, when they would, high quality of service, at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Installed new single yoke floor box receptacle in family room and 2 exterior GFCI receptacles back of the house.

Bob Saye returned my call the same day. Although he was busy, he was able to send a crew in two days because I had painters coming during the week. The two man crew were very efficient and completed all the work in a timely manner.

Asked to check/fix outdoor light, estimate more work. Told they charge for entire visit--including time for estimate. No one else returned my calls, I agreed. Young man was professional, thorough, replaced light with new fixture Saye helpfully suggested I buy ''just in case.'' Paid $120.00 for 20 minutes actual work, rest of time was for estimate to be mailed by end of the week. Several weeks, no estimate. Called 2x. Not only had I not received estimate I PAID FOR, had to threaten bad Angie's report to get response. Estimate finally received was twice cost of another company who did a great job. As freelancer, I estimate all the time for companies - some buy, some don't. It's the cost of doing business - have never charged/been charged for someone to pitch business/for me to pitch theirs. I understand busy, things fall through cracks sometimes. But keeping me waiting, making me call twice, for something I paid for (& shouldn't have)is not a great way to gain customers/good PR.

I REMEMBER THIS FORMER CUSTOMER AND I, BOB SAYE, AM TRULY SORRY THAT SHE IS DISPLEASED. I TAKE OUR BLACK MARKS PERSONALLY AND FEEL COMPELLED TO RESPOND. WE DIDN'T CHARGE FOR HER ESTIMATE. AS MUTUALLY AGREED PRIOR TO OUR HOME VISIT - WE RESPONDED TO A REQUEST FOR SERVICE AND HAD 1 1/2 TOTAL HOURS IN THE JOB INCLUDING DRIVE-UP AND ADMINISTRATIVE TIME ASSOCIATED WITH JOB AT OUR POSTED FAIR MARKET VALUE RATE OF $80 PER HOUR. WHILE THERE OUR LEAD TECH., JAMES, DID ASSESS FOR COSTING ADDITIONAL WORK. I DID DROP THE BALL OBTAINING INFORMATION FROM JAMES AND CONVEYING IT TO A WRITTEN PROPOSAL. THE CUSTOMER MAY HAVE CALLED TWICE BUT I HAVE A RECOLLECTION OF ONE CALL SHE GAVE JUST AN HOUR PRIOR TO ME ISSUING THE WRITTEN ESTIMATE. THAT WAS ALSO THE VERY FIRST MENTION THAT SHE IS/WAS AN ANGIE'S LIST MEMBER. AT THAT POINT I SHIFTED GEARS AND WANTED TO 'SAVE FACE', TOO LITTLE TOO LATE I GUESS. I WON'T APOLOGIZE FOR OUR PRICE BEING HIGHER THAN OUR COMPETITION. ANYBODY CAN DO A JOB CHEAPER, ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAVE BENEFIT OF A PREVIOUS PRICE. WE DON'T DO MUCH QUOTED WORK FOR OUR TIME AND MATERIAL (HOURLY) WORK BEING VERY PLENTIFUL. I called in the morning and left message. They returned my call that afternoon and had an electrician at my house the following morning. The electrician, Darrel, was very pleasant, courteous, and knowledgeable. He had the problem solved and fixed in 45 minutes. He took the time to show me the problem and explain why this was causing the circuit to trip. A truly first class experience. I will be recommending them to all of my friends.
Description of Work: One of our circuit breakers would not work. They diagnosed the problem and traced it to loose wires in one of our bathroom outlets. They fixed the wires and solved the problem. They also fixed a light switch that was wired incorrectly.

Very smoothly. Bob was prompt in responding to my initial email requesting a quote. He came to our home and looked over our barn and gave us an estimate a few days later. We got onto the schedule and 2 polite electricians showed up a couple days later. It took 2 days to install everything listed above. The inspector showed up the following day and we passed a rough inspection. We needed to add GFI receptacles. I emailed Bob and the same men came out the next day and installed the new receptacles. The inspector showed up that afternoon and everything passed. We are very satisfied with Saye Electric and we look forward to working with them on other projects.
Description of Work: 1. Exterior meter base and ground rods. 2. Interior 200a MCB loadcenter. 3. Initial duplex receptacle on 120v 20a circuit. 4. Four strip fluorescent lights. 5. Eight duplex receptacles. 6. 2 single switches; 1 lower level, 1 upper level. 7. Total of 3 120v, 20a circuits (incl. #3 above). 8. Electrical permit and cord. inspection(s).

They were on time and were done very quickly. They brought the fan w/them and installed it, vented the fan and installed a switch for the fan next to the light switch. They fixed whatever problem we were having with the bedroom closet light and the hall light. They were done faster than they estimated. The price was very reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves very well.
Description of Work: They installed a bathroom fan with wiring where a fan didn't exist. They fixed a light switch problem our bedroom closet light was somehow linked to the hallway lights. When the closet light was on and the hall light was off, you could see a dim glow from the hall lights.

Bob Saye was one of the only electricians I called (all from this list) who returned my call. He called initially to tell me they were very busy and he would go by my house to look at the problem and get back to me. He called me back a couple of days later, apologized for not having gotten back to me sooner and then gave me a general quote and time-line for getting to the work. Because I had such poor response from the other electricians I called I accepted the quote immediately as I needed the work done. To be honest I never even saw the Saye guys; they showed up, did exactly what they said they'd do, fixed the problem and invoiced me for less than the quote about a week later.
Description of Work: While trimming trees behind my house for overhead wires, Duke Power pulled the riser off the side of my house leaving a bent, half-attached riser and drooping electrical lines. Saye fixed the riser, attached it firmly to the side of my house and pulled the wires up.

Daryl was extremely courteous, professional, and accommodating when I requested more work than I originally asked. When I mentioned Angie's list, he informed me of coupon, which I had forgotten. Did much more work and charged far less than previous Angie's List coupon electrician. Would recommend this company in a heartbeat. Only complaint - I called on a Thursday, and they were unable to schedule me until today. The service was certainly well worth the wait.
Description of Work: Replaced one "blown" receptacle, another improperly installed receptacle, two light switches, and replaced an outside motion detector light.

At first glance, $300 might seem like a lot for installing two lights. However, when I realized that the entry light would involve two electricians (including Bob Saye), a special ladder, and some cramped working space, the amount of effort made the price seem very reasonable. Bob and his assistant did a great job. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Installed a new entry light in a foyer with a 20 foot ceiling. Corrected a wiring error from the original construction. Installed a light in the power room.

This is the second time we've used Saye Electric and have been very happy with them on both occasions.
Description of Work: We had a couple of outlets go dead after a storm but the breaker did not trip. We assumed it was a problem in a junction box somewhere and called Saye Electric. Before scheduling a service call, Bob walked us through locating and resetting our GFCI receptacles. This fixed the problem and saved us the time and cost of a service call.

The company called me back within an hour, and sent out someone the very next day! The workman was wonderful! He was very informative, explained all the options, understood the US Tec system that was in our condo, and performed the work quickly and cleanly. Overall, a great experience.
