All seem good until the town inspected the work and found that two of the chimneys were to close to wood. Not a two inch clearance gong into the chase which is a fire hazard, Thank goodness for the town inspectors or my house had the potential for fire. The company came back and made the clearance and then it passed inspection. I inspected the work more closely and found that one header needs to be reinforced because it had to be cut out and additional fire caulk was needed for the down stairs wood stove where it transition thru the floor. I did this in two payments. One for the chimneys/fireplaces and one for hooking up the stove in the basement. The chimneys/fireplaces cost was first and the estimate did not change. The wood stove estimate increase 60% because a piece of pipe was not figured in. I talked to the owner and he indicated the he made a mistake and that was the bill. He said that business was not so good so he couldn't do anything else. He mentioned that the pipe could be returned but I used it so he was not to encouraging. He did mention the he would put a lean on my house if I didn't pay. I always pay my bills on time and I expect a high quality job at a fair price. This company has poor quality, fire hazard, and increase the price will out consulting me before doing. I had a competitive price to fall back on if I knew the cost was 60% more. I would not recommend this company because of safety concerns and how they charged more at the end with-out consulting.
