We first contacted Kirk Davis with Patterson Nursery over a year ago when we first moved into our home. He came out and toured our very pitiful looking backyard and give us numerous suggestions. He pointed out several trees that had been damaged during construction and several that were dead and should be removed before they broke off and damaged the house. He was very informative and helpful and told us to call him when we were ready. It took us a while to get settled so it was the next spring before we contacted Patterson Nursery. We contacted Patterson Nursery and several landscaping companies to have them come out and give us their proposals and pricing. There was no comparison in quality and pricing between Patterson and the landscaping companies. The landscape companies wanted to charge more money for smaller and fewer trees.Don't waste your time with a middle man, the landscaping companies, go directly to the nursery that grows the trees and knows all about them. Marty Barringer from Patterson made numerous trips out to our house and made excellent recommendations on the type of trees, spacing, and placement to ensure privacy and proper growth space. He is incredibly patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. You can tell he truly wants to help his customers achieve the look and design they want within their existing budget. It is a genuine pleasure to work with Marty. You know you can trust his expertise and that he will do whatever it takes to ensure customer satisfaction. The day the trees were to be installed they showed up promptly and quickly went to work. They had us double check the location of the trees once more before drilling the holes. They had both the equipment and manpower to do an excellent job in a very timely manner. Our backyard was transformed from an ugly space where you had no privacy to a beautifully wooded, private space. The trees they brought from their fields were unbelievably beautiful and healthy! We were in complete awe as they brought them up. After they put in the tress and staked them they cleaned everything up beautifully and even trimmed up some of our existing trees to make everything look its best. After everything was done Marty even took the time to look over the existing plants the builder had put in and told us how to care for them and when to fertilize, etc.. He even pruned several of the bushes to show us how to do it properly. In my 46 years I have never received such excellent care and follow up as I have from Marty and Patterson Nursery. Don't waste your time and money going to a landscape company for your tress and plants. You will pay more and get smaller trees if you deal with the middle man landscape companies. Go directly to Patterson Nursery where they grow the trees and have the knowledge and expertise to help you design and achieve your dream yard. You will not find better quality, pricing, and service around. I give Patterson Nursery my highest recommendation!!!

I like their customer service and the items that they promised were actually better than we expected. Their timeliness also stands out. I will use them again in the future.

I cannot say enough about my experience with this company. I was new to the Charlotte area and needed expert advice. I took samples from the trees and shrubs planted around my house and Patterson's identified each of them for me. I told them that I needed shade in the front of the house and a tree that would blend in with my existing shrubs at the rear of the house and they suggested alternatives, explaining the pros and cons of each. They were friendly, professional and objective. I felt they were focused on meeting my needs rather than promoting the most expensive alternatives. The trees they planted greatly exceeded my expectations. Both are much larger than I expected, they are beautifully proportioned, and they are very healthy. I understand that Patterson's grows its trees and shrubs locally, so they are planted soon after they are dug up and they don't suffer much transplanting shock. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that Patterson's fertilized the trees two weeks after they were planted. This was done as a matter of policy at no additional cost. I have lived in several cities throughout the country and have purchased trees and plants in all of them. I think my experience with Patterson's ranks at the top, in terms of advice, service and affordability.

They transplanted some of our shrubs and built a stone wall around the side of our house and did landscaping in front of our house. They were excellent. They are the only people who got back to us on time. They are always available and very courteous. They cleaned up the place after work.

I needed to replace a couple of trees that had been removed from my front yard. After visiting with Kirk the owner and talking through the various options, we settled on a crepe myrtle and maple. He had several sizes in both and was willing to let me select my trees, out but assured me he ''could pick better than I could''. He was right. Getting the trees delivered was tad difficult as the two week lead time turned into four, but I believe this is the busiest part of the year and Kirk was actually digging one of trees up from the ground. The crew that showed up was very cordial and professional and seemed to care quite a bit about where the trees were going and how to best position them. They completely cleaned up the mess from digging the large holes and provided guidance on how to get the trees growing quickly. The trees are both gorgeous. Much better than I was expecting. The turnaround was a bit longer than communicated, but I would gladly wait for these results again.
