Description of Work: I paid Judy in full in November 2011 for three 1 inch blinds. I had used her before a few years earlier with no issue. Since the job was small I thought it would be easier to pay he her in full since it was a relatively small job. Finally in late December, after repeated calls, she came by to install the 3 blinds. It was clear that she was not experienced in installing blinds, and even mentioned that her husband usually did the installs. During her installation she was dropping screws, bending the brackets, and putting multiple holes in the window frames. When she was finished, none of the 3 had been properly installed. The first one has a broken valence. The other 2 were both installed crooked and one was forced into place, bending the frame completely. When she left, she said that she would get a new valence and call me when it came it. A month later I started calling her to see when she was coming back. It took about 2 weeks and 6 calls to get a response. She stated that it was not in and she would get back to me. Another month went by and still no response. Again, it took weeks of calling and finally she called me back. She said the valence was in and she would send someone out the next week to install it and correct the other installation issues. That was the last time I hear from her. I have called her about 15 times during the last 3 months with no response. I am extremely sorry I paid her in full, she clearly cannot be trusted to perform the work she promises.

 + -1 moreHad about 40 wood blinds that had never been cleaned (blinds 15 years old).Got two estimates and went with The Blind Ladies. They came out as scheduled and took down all of the blinds and carried to their shop and promised to have them returned the evening of the same day. Because they are wood blinds they had to be hand cleaned. They returned the blinds the same day and re-installed them -- although it was quite late due to the number of blinds. We are very please with the results, especially considering they had never been cleaned and had dust build-up. The pricing was exactly as quoted on the phone and they honored the Angie's discount as noted.

 + -1 moreTimber Blinds are not highly rated and there was no real conversation on possibilities for a bedroom facing west , not just what I thought I wanted. I needed some constructive help and received none.
Description of Work: Called for estimate on blinds for my bedroom. Received a quote over the phone for Timber Blinds. I asked if they could quote Hunter Douglas and get back to me the next day at 10 AM , when I would be home & further discuss. No phone call to date- 2 weeks later.

 + 0 moreBetter than new. I recently bought a new Levolor blind with the intention of replacing all the blinds in my house. After being disappointed with the quality I decided to have my blinds cleaned. I have been in the house 11 years and this is the first time they were cleaned. Jeff came by in the morning and took the 10 blinds down, and Judy came by the same afternoon and put them all back in place. I couldn't believe the difference. They looked as good as new. It was worth savings the old blinds. Jeff and Judy did a great job.
Description of Work: I had 10 blinds taken down, cleaned and put back up. They were very dingy.

 + -1 moreJeff was personable and easy to work with. We are getting ready to sell our house, so these repairs were needed but didn't need to be perfect. He worked with us to make the most economical fixes, without having to go through the hassle of ordering new slats, etc. He also showed us how to re-affix some valances that had broken off so that we didn't have to order new clips. Very user-friendly and he was generous in the price he charged us. Thank you for your quick service and helping us to keep our costs low!
Description of Work: Jeff came on a Saturday morning and repaired three blinds. Each had a slat that was broken, and a new slat had to be added. He also looked at several valances that had come off, and gave us advice on how to fix them easily and economically.

 + -1 moreI contacted 3 different Angies List companies for this project, and The Blind Ladies was the lowest quote of the three (but barely - they were all within $250). Jeff was my contact throughout, but after I placed the order and sent in my check for the 50% deposit, I did not hear from him. I was warned that the order would take 6-9 weeks, so I tried to wait patiently until that time frame had passed. I would have preferred a confirmation of some sort that my check had been received (I kept checking my account online to see if the check had been cashed), as well as an update or two about when to expect the order to come in. I didn't get any of that. I finally called, several times, and was told the order was on time, they were expecting it at the end of the week, etc. I kept having to follow up with phone calls - at least 2-3 times. The installation went great. Jeff was pleasant, personable and efficient. He was kind and affectionate with my dog (a very old lab). He removed the blinds from the master closet and put them up for me in the garage at no extra charge, which I really appreciated. If this company provided an email address and communicated better, I would've given them an A.

 + 0 moreFrom the very first phone call I I made to them inquiring about their services and prices, they were professional, responsive, gave a very accurate over the phone estimate. They arrived on the job about 20 minutes early, introduced themselves and got right to work. They were very respectful of the fact that I was working from home that day so made every attempt to keep quiet. Now, my windows, sills, screens, and plantation shutters look like they did when I built the house. I definitely would recommend Judy and Jerry and have let all my co-workers know of the great experience I had with The Blind Ladies.
Description of Work: Window clearning both inside and out, using ammonia, water and newspaper. They cleaned sills, screens with the same solution and then cleaned my plantation shutters.

 + -1 moreGreat to work with. Jeff and Judy are very honest, professional, did a great job and charged a fair rate for their services. We did have a mix up which was my fault and I missed our appointment. But they were understanding and came out the next day. I needed the blinds cleaned ASAP due to renters moving in. They worked with me and got the job done. I highly recommend them. WARNING!.......There is a company out there in Charlotte-land that gave me an estimate which was TWICE what I paid. I've had work done before and knew that they were asking WAY TOO MUCH for the job.

 + -1 moreResponded very promptly to our request. Came out for measurements and collected deposit ($160) on March 5th. Overall price was fair. Estimated 3 weeks for delivery. Called us the next day and said they needed to come back out because the manufacturer required a template(came back out and measured again...no problems). Its been over 9 weeks and the only conversations I've had with them are the ones I initiated. I've heard "out of town", "delivery problem", "delivered to another location". The most recent update was the week of April 26th (that I initiated) and that we will should have our blind May 5th. May 9th and I've initiated another follow-up because there was no contact and we still don't have the blind. The biggest issue I have is not the delay, but the lack of communication. The ONLY communication that has occured as a result of my prompting.

 + -1 moreI had The Blind Ladies install plantation shutters on the front of our home when we moved into our house in 2004. I was impressed by them, so I called them again when we wanted to replace our dusty, faux wood blinds on the back of the house with cellular shades. Judy came out quickly, and provided me with an estimate. She moved through the house with lightning speed, measuring each window accurately and showing me my options for each room. I took her advice on the type of "room darkening" shades to get for our bedroom, as well as the type of transparency to get for our shades in our family room. I had independently priced the shades through a home improvement store and Judy's estimate, which included installation, came in lower than my own pricing. Judy ordered our shades and her husband came as soon as they arrived to install them. Just as on his first visit, he had the shades installed quickly, professionally and easily. They look great and work wonderfully!
Description of Work: The Blind Ladies came to our house, provided an estimate for installing 14 cellular shades, brought samples, ordered our shades, removed our old blinds and installed our new shades.
