Could not have gone better! They were wonderful to work with, their craftsmanship was exquisite, and the price was fair and reasonable. I'd recommend them to anyone without reservation.

On the recommendation of our insurance agent I called Griffin homes and was put in touch with John Baker from Southern Porch and Patio. As explained by Mr. Baker they are the repair arm of Griffin Homes, we made an appointment for noon during the week. On the scheduled date I was surprised by a knock on the door at 10:00am. I opened it to find Mr. Baker standing on my porch. What the heck, I didn't have anything scheduled so lets get this thing started. Mr. Baker was very courteous and seemed very professional. When he was done photographing, measuring and sketching exactly what my wife and I wanted completed, he advised I would probably hear something in few days and up to a week later either by phone or email. After a week I called the office number on the card Mr. Baker provided and left a detailed message on the voicemail. I waited several more days and placed another phone call, another day and another phone call. I have yet to hear anything back from either Griffin Homes or Southern Porch and Patio, I'm not even sure if there really was a Mr. Baker. That was about a month ago. Why even bother coming out if you were never going to get back in touch. That's just weird. It almost makes me want to keep calling until I actually get a person on the phone just to see that Mr. Baker hasn't been kidnapped and isn't being held somewhere, forced to watch and quot;Here comes Honey Boobooand quot; against is will. The humanity... Long story short, you can get them to come out but will they come back?

He's a very nice individual. He obviously knew his trade, I just decided on a different company. He's been in the business for a while and knew his product. He even gave me some helpful suggestions.

We use our screened porch daily and love it! John Baker was professional and easy to work with. His crew was prompt and as unobtrusive as could be expected. We had received three quotes and his estimate was among the most expensive but he had done work for neighbors and we felt comfortable selecting him, although we wish we had specified composite decking when negotiating. They began the work in the middle of winter but the three or so workers arrived on time every morning. We did add skylights after signing the contract and that change request was no problem for John. Very good scheduling. Somewhat annoyed by the flimsy door handle used on the screen door and the door slamming but overall we would highly recommend Southern Porch and Patio.

I would say this went very well. They definitely knew what they are doing, with good workmanship. They did great with the design and accomplished what we wanted. They were everything we wanted.
