This project went off perfectly. We looked at several companies to come in and fix issues caused by our pool contractor. We really like Don, the salesperson and he was very upfront about everything and gave us some really good ideas. Don even came out a second time to go over everything with my wife to make sure it was what she wanted. They had a tough job because of the pool contractor and subs spreading extra gravel all around the yard, leaving concrete in the yard, and destroying various parts of the yard. The work included laying a pallet of sod, bringing in new dirt, soil, shrubs, and mulch. They also laid some pavers for me to have a grill area. Communication was perfect leading up to the job and Don was always very responsive. When they arrived, they were efficient, courteous, and did an excellent job. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of their employees. They were a breath of fresh air from what I have experienced the past few months. Here is the biggest item for me. When the guys from SecureTurf completed the job, they left the place better than they found it. They cleaned up everything and even did a little extra that was completely unnecessary. They blew off the entire driveway, walkways, and didn't leave a speck of trash. This to me says everything you need to know about a company and how they operate. PRIDE! It is hard to find these days but this company obviously takes Pride in what they do. Great job and I would highly recommend.

I have had them for 11 years. What I like first is the quality of my lawn is there. When they are out, they inspect it and they let me know things that I should be doing, such as watering or other things that I can control. My lawn has been improving over that period of time, so I have stayed with them. If I have a problem and I call them, they send somebody out and look at it, and apply whatever needed to be done for taking care of it. They have their scheduling. If I call them for a problem, they are out the next day.

I've been pleased with those people. When I interviewed different ones to put in the landscaping they were top notch and I have been happy with them.

They were fine. They were just expensive. We would probably not use them again because we cannot afford it.

Secure turf arrived early afternoon and sprayed the yard. They left a notice of service on the front door. We have used Secure Turf for several years now and our yard has never looked better. They come out about seven times a year to apply various fertilizer, fungicides and grub control products and whatever else is going on with our yard. They are very responsive and provide helpful hints whenever they apply product. We have been very satisfied with their services. We would highly recommend their services.

We worked with Jamie and he was the absolute best! He provided guidance on the design and the BEST customer service I have ever received. The quality of the work was top notch as well. The final product is amazing; I would recommend Jamie and Secure Turf to anyone needing landscaping/hardscaping services.

I called on Monday to get a quote on having my front lawn graded after having three large trees removed. I was told that they would check some calendars and call me right back. Its Wednesday evening and no call back yet.

Secure Turf was ver professional. Aside from a communication glitch when one of the office staff went on vacation, everything went smoothly. Don was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly how to correct my water issues and recommended appropriate plants and trees for my needs. My neighbors have all been very complimentary of the job they did. I will be using them for lawn maintenance starting this fall.

During the summer season of 2012 they controlled lawn weeds. The yard was killed off and in the late Auigust it had aeration and seeding along with all needed feeding that winter. I renewed the annual contract and the summer of 2013 the yard looked good and dark green. Weed control and necessary grass maintenance was performed and aeration and seeding again this year and I am looking forward to spring of next year. I plan to sign up again for next year as my wife likes the look of both our front and back yards. The initial aeration was scheduled for early Oct., which I paid for in January 2013. They worked with me and completed the aeration and seeding in early September. October would have been a problem because of a couple trees that fall their leave in mid and late September.

I was happy with their service, but I felt like it went downhill and they weren't very responsive. We ended up terminating the service. They come here seven times a year. They advertise that they're locally based, and that they know the soil levels. I thought, they have a pretty standard product. They came out, and did the same thing to everybody's yard. I'm not sure if I got any specialized service. Their price wasn't the cheapest, and wasn't the most expensive.

I had my lawn in the spring this year sodded by another company and then Secure Turf took over the fertilization and signed up for 5-6 basic treatments and things like treating for fungus was going to be extra per treatment. 2013 has been one of the rainy seasons on record in Charlotte and all lawns in Charlotte and especially my neighborhood look incredibly green and healthy. Except for my yard. Secure Turf treated my lawn and when I returned home from an extended vacation I notice lots of dead patches in my lawn. I called Secure Turf and David finally came out and admitted they had an angry employee that was trying to damage Secure Turf by not exactly doing much and stopping the growth of fungus at an early stage. David promised to make it right so they come out to fertilized and put fungus treatment down and guess what; they charged me for the fungus treatment. I called Secure Turf and they removed the charge. My lawn continues to get worse and frankly almost all of it is dead and the only chance to bringing it back to life is seeding and aeration in the fall. To David's credit, he promise he would do what needed to be done but it would take a year or two to get my lawn back to the $3800 I spent in the spring. I told him that if the lawn in the spring wasn't back to somewhat normal, would Secure Turf pay for new sodding and he frankly said no. My lawn as of 8-5-2013 is almost 90% dead and brown and embarassing since almost all lawns in Charlotte look incredible. To make matters worse, Secure Turf came out and we reviewed some hedges I needed to be shaped up and trimmed. Donald, the tree guy at Secure Turf met with me and took pictures of everything that needed to be trimmed. I asked him if he would be on site when they were trimming and he said no but don't worry, he had pictures that would be attached to my work order and everything would be OK. Famous last words from Secure Turf! My housekeeper called me because the Secure Turf guys were at my house and asked her what brushed and trees needed trimming. She called me and by the time I finally could leave my office they managed to get home they honestly trimmed everything I didn't want trimmed and didn't trimmed much of what I needed trimmed. Also I had a tree near my back sunroom that was going over my roof an we agreed they would just top it off to the gutters; when I got home today that tree is less than 3 feet tall and looks just aweful. David from Secure Turf calls me today and told me that they could never live up to my expectations and he was drpping me as a client. He told me he was extremely upset because I put a sign in my front yard indicating that Secure Turf was responsible for my dead lawn. That put him over the edge. What David doesn't realize is that Secure Turf put their own advertising sign in my yard the other day which I certainly couldn't understand since if you are a lawn and landscaping company and the yard is 90% dead, I wouldn't advertise that. Anyhow, bottom line there is a huge communciation problem within the ranks of leadership to front line worker in the Secure Turf organization. There is obviously no follow through on work done in the field. I now have a 90% dead lawn, a beautiful tree that is murdered down to 3 feet, other brushes I didn't want trimmed and lot of brushes still needing trimming and David has the nerve to tell me he isn't servicing my lawn anymore and will refund my money. I'm not sure this is the type of company that you would want taking care of your lawn but you can decide for yourself by reading this. When a company such as Secure Turf admits fault but gets angry over a sign and the truth and basically gives up, then, I believe, you might want to consider another service that truly cares for their clients and can admit fault, take constructive remarks and doesn't give up. There are way too many excellent landscaping and lawn companies in Charlotte to use instead of Secure Turf.

The quality of service was poor. The reseed that they did was not good. The overall experience was poor. I would not use this provider again.

We are on an annual contract with them but kind of had an unfortunate incident with them. They were supposed to reseed the front of the lawn so they had to kill it off. The mistake was that they killed the entire lawn, both front and back and did not come back for a really long time to fix it; so we were pretty upset. They were very good about trying to correct it because they felt badly about what happened. They made a rather substantial mistake and we complained about it on Angie's List awhile back. They called and said they were upset about it and wanted to know what they could do to fix it and tried very hard to fix it. They reseeded the entire lawn but we had to work through several issues related to that. I will use them again on the future.

After my neighbor recommended them to me, I first hired SecureTurf to do a Spring CleanUp and they came and bagged up 15 giant bags of leaves and debris from my yard and flower beds. They also removed some heavier, unsightly pieces of wood and piles of yardwaste leftover from the previous owners of my new house. They did such a good job, I also hired them to do 7 lawn treatments over the next year (fertilization, weed control, etc.). It's been only 2 treatments but my lawn already looks much better- the weeds are gone and new grass has sprouted up in their place. I have also spoken with David Underwood on the phone several times and he has answered every question with friendly expertise. He even turned me down when I asked him to plant some new grass in a few troubled areas of my lawn- he said it wasn't the right time of the year to plant and he wouldn't feel right charging me for something he couldn't guarantee. Pretty stand up guy. Will update once I've had more service, but so far so good!

I originally had some issues with these folks but Ryan and David have been very responsive and helpful in working through them. I have decided to work them them again for a year and have them maintain my yard after they came by the house two times and spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me.

I have used Secure Turf for the past two years and they are by far the best landscaping firm I have used in the Charlotte area. They are courteous, prompt and efficient. All work is completed when they say and to high quality standards and a fair price. They work with you to customize a plan that best meets your needs and budget - no up selling! Their online customer area is very convenient for paying invoices and staying in contact. I am surprised at the lower grades here on Angie's list - it certainly is not indicative of the excellent work they do. Very pleased and will continue to use them for many years to come.

We agreed to hire Secure Turf to treat our yard for the entire year after receiving an estimate of ~$800. By August, it was clear that the treatments Secure Turf was applying were having no effect: Bermuda grass was continuing to takeover large sections of our yard and other weeds were taking over other sections. When I met with a Secure Turf representative, I was told that the weeds in my yard happened to be "the most difficult ones to eradicate and their normal treatments wouldn't work." Since these weeds were not new to our yard, I wondered why this didn't come up when they first provided the estimate. At that time, they indicated that the only course of action was a "killdown." We agreed to kill the front yard (except the strip next to the road) and to leave the back yard alone until the Bermuda grass had taken over completely. Since their treatments were ineffective, they did agree to perform this killdown service without charge. Unfortunately, they did NOT limit their killdown to the agreed upon section: they killed half the strip by the street and most of the backyard. When I pointed this out, they did apologize and, as a small gesture, indicated they would cut the grass before the aeration, seeding, and fertilizing process. After rescheduling the aeration process twice and receiving assurance that the grass would be cut prior to the aeration process, when a team from Secure Turf did arrive, they indicated they could not do the work because they were the "aeration" group and the grass hadn't been cut yet. After sending a note expressing extreme frustration, Secure Turf did send the right team out the next day to perform all the work agreed upon. And, as a final act of apology, they agreed not to charge for the aeration, seeding, and fertizing work. While Secure Turf did apologize (at times reluctantly) and did not charge for some services provided (those needed to correct for failure of previous services or to correct for mistakes), the end result was a yard that is in worse shape than it was before they were hired.

It was pretty bad. They started off well, but it deteriorated. They actually killed some hibiscus plants that we had and then they denied it. They sprayed it with weed killer and then claimed we did it.

They do an overall good job. Ryan Ray is the president of the company and very responsive. I had my downspouts buried and had a complete drainage system installed last year. Although I would have liked to give Secure Turf the business, I decided to go with another company that had been used by a few neighbors, who raved about them, (and was lower in cost). Ryan understood and was professional, as always.

Excellent, I still use them and will continue to. Quality service and product not the cheapest. You get what you pay for.

They clean up after themselves. We really like them. They are very professional.
