 + -1 moreHe is an old-school plumber who knows what he is doing, but lacks something of professionalism. He did not offer an itemization of what he was charging me, and did not offer a receipt. He was recommended by the previous owners of our home, and completed the work successfully without any problems.
Description of Work: We had a leaking shower faucet, which he repaired. We had a small leak in a drainpipe connection in the crawlspace, due to an improper junction made when an addition was put on our house several years ago. He advised that trying to repair the connection would have a substantial risk of breaking the 4-way junction, which would turn it into a fairly expensive repair. Instead, he tightened what he could and got a rubber boot for the end cap, which was appropriate for the type of leak.

 + -1 moreThis is one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had with a home repair service. Mr. Stinson was courteous and prompt in returning the initial call and in providing the service. When he came to my house he discovered that my problem was an issue that he doesn't usually do because he is not equipped for digging up the main line. However, he wanted so badly to help me that he decided to take the job anyway and dig it "by hand". He completely solved my problem by replacing the damaged section. Upon completion, I was amazed at how reasonable his price was. R D Stinson will be my plumber for life.
Description of Work: Mr. Stinson probed the main drain line and estimated where the problem was. He hand dug down about two feet to find that the main sewer line had been badly damaged, probably by backfill equipment when the house was built. He replaced about a three foot section of 4 inch PVC and all is well.

 + 1 moreHe returns our calls promptly, shows up when he says he will, takes his shoes off to not get dirt on the floor or carpet, and tries to get to you asap when you have an emergency. We always call him back!
Description of Work: Mr. Stinson has done multiple plumbing projects for us over the last several years. He replaced several toilet parts (as the toilets were running), worked on our hot water heater, cleared several clogs in the kitchen drain, and changed rusted pipes in the crawl space. Most of this work was done just after we bought the house, but Mr. Stinson has been back several times and he is always very prompt in returning our calls and tending to our needs.
