I was really happy with their professionalism and recommendations at the beginning of all of this but the execution of the work was the challenge. We had three projects; a whole house sound system, Central Vacuum, and Alarm system. All of which had existed in the house before and were removed by the deadbeat who previous lived there. The Electrolux central vac was replaced without a problem, they came on the day promised and set it up nicely; it works great we love it! The sound system took forever to get them to run the wires and get everything set up. It took multiple trips and seemed to drag on and on. Now that its installed, it works good and we really enjoy having the sound system. After I looked at their work I noticed that they ran the wires across floor joist in the upper level of the house where we intend to install a floor. The wires need to be between the joist so the flooring won't smash the wires. So now I'm going to have to re run the wires myself. We also had them mount the TV on the wall and that was a fiacso. Delays and excuses it took many weeks to get that accomplished. Finally the alarm system, again they took a few weeks to get their guys lined up and get it done. They were in and out of the house for several days and seemed confused about the whole thing. The end of the story is that all the work was done, a few extra expenses but nothing crazy. They did everything they promised, it took much longer than expected, and their expertise wasn't what we were hoping.

Renee's team were on time! They were courteous and performed their job correctly. They were knowledgable about the equipment and took time to explained how to use the system. They also left the work area clean! We would definitely use them gain and would recommend them to others.

Excellent! Can't say enough about Rene and his team. From the first visit to installation everything went well. They are courteous, professional and keep their promises. Have excellent knowledge and provided appropriate guidance with our installation. Listen to them if they say "go bigger" for the TV size! We initially went with a 50" but after seeing in place, went with their advice and had a 60" installed. They provided great customer service - we will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

My experience with them went well. They're small but they're very good. They know what they're doing. They are experts in what they do or in the way they do it. The original job they did for me was about $17000.

Installed antenna and it worked but I since wanted to install another and they can't remember providing the service and can't help me locate the antenna in my attic.

It went well initially, We had some problems with buffering of movies and with the universal control. When we communicated our concerns, the company responded within days, sending out professionals to fix the problem. In general, we are very happy with the work that was done.

It did not go well with them. They came out to my house and they never called me back. They came and I guess they were disappointed. They asked me how much I wanted to spend and they never called me back. I left them a message and they never returned my call. I guess they were thinking it was going to be a bigger deal. They spent about a half an hour at my house and I walked them around. They kept asking me what I wanted to spend. I didn't really know a lot about what I needed. They were not very helpful. They were vague. They did not sit me down and say "Here is what you can get for that and if you really want to do a decent system, you need to spend this". I could just tell that between the two of them, they were disappointed. This was maybe about six months ago.

Installation was done in one day. Live video cameras worked from day one. Cell phone/computer access working from day one. Had to tweak after upgrade. Had to tweak interior lighting scenario. Now working perfectly. Had to tweak video camera recordings as camera catches cloud movement, shrub movement, insect movement and rain. Does not catch cars or humans at all times. I pay $123/quarterly (Can get out of service with 30 days notice): Standard alarm monitoring service Cell phone backup service Alarm remote access to security system Alarm video monitoring and recording plus remote access to video

It went great. David and Eric were very professional. As we walked around the house, I showed them cabling that had been placed all over the outside of the interior and exterior walls, discovering some coax not connected to anything. They came up with a plan that exceeded my requirements to simplify and hide all of the TV cabling, and to lay cabling for our home network. It took them about six hours to run the cabling from the entry to the house through the walls, crawl space, attic and basement to the different rooms on two stories. They installed outlet boxes for cable TV and network outlets in every room. All network cabling was run back to our home network router. They removed all the old cabling. At the completion of the job we walked around the house and they showed me the connections, explaining how and why they did everything. Everything was very neat and organized. I was very satisfied with the job and I recommend this company.

There was some confusion with the time the service was scheduled for. However, when they arrived they were quick to get to work and thorough. They came out during construction and once again once the structure was complete to finish up. Always a friendly group. We enjoyed working with them and would hire them again.

The guys arrived at my house just as promised, even though I was an appointment that was squeezed in at the last minute. The work was top-notch and quick. They were professional and had all the necessary tools for the job. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Their service was great. Came right on time. Answered all the questions, made sure everything worked. Came back again when we had more questions with no additional charges.

I don't dislike anything; they are quick, easy to work with and very accommodating.

Rene was very nice and polite when I initially called, but apparently he misunderstood what I needed. After waiting over a week to get a technician to come out, he (David) arrived promptly, but told me he didnt' have the right equipment to perform the work. As described by Rene, he was expecting a simpler job, so did not bring the proper equipment to install the phone lines. Huh? Why would a professional technician not be equipped to do the work? Considering the job was described over the phone by a lay person - you would think they would have either sent someone earlier to scope out the job, or just come prepared as any professional would to handle the job even if larger or different than as described. When Rene called me back, he indicated they are capable of doing the work as now described to him by his technician, but they didn't have time to complete the job today. Huh? That is poor customer service! You make me wait over a week to get someone out, and instead of having the tech get the right gear and come back immediately, you want to put me back in the back of the line on the schedule. Wow! I am operating a business, not a home phone. I'd already told Rene i was dead in the water until the phone lines were run. I guess that wasn't a factor in his decision. I would absolutely never use this company again. There are plenty of other reputable companies on Angie's List. And, if you do decide to use them, make sure you hire a technology professional to describe your job to him over the phone or you might end up in the same boat as me.

The team of 3 arrived on time and I explained what I wanted done and they went about their business and did a great job. I would definitely use HTS again for any home theater installation work.

Called to replace sound system that had been hit by lightening. Came and evaluated our system. Only replaced the damaged equipment and updated the system since it was 10 years old. Made sure that we liked and could use the new system in their store before installed in our home. They didn't recommend anything more than what we needed and kept cost in mind. Very professional during the installation and made sure we could operate the new system before they finished

They were a little expensive but did great work. I would use them again.

Dave and Rene helped me to design my system for a remodel in my home. Their knowledge, expertise and guidance helped tremendously. They came to my home once all the walls and ceilings were down and ran their wires and installed all the shells for the speakers that were to be placed in the ceilings. My system was ordered and they put it all together prior to returning to my home 2 months later. Dave suggested I use Autumnwood Designs in Waxhaw, NC to make my custom cabinet to hold the racking system and the components for the TV room. The custom piece looks awesome and the rack fit inside the cabinet like a glove. Scheduled my install after the remodel was completed and Dave came over and spent the whole day installing the equipment. The new TV - 60" Samsung D7000 is incredible. The quality of the picture is unbelievable. I couldn't be happier with Home Tech and all the guys who work there. I will be using them for any future needs and highly recommend them.

After discussing the problem, the gentleman I spoke with said he didn't think there was much he could do at this time. He gave me some recommendations for how to follow up on the problem, with the possibility of calling him back after I had pursued those options first. I appreciate his honesty and willingness to discuss the issue, even knowing that he wasn't going to bill me for the time it took.
