On Friday morning, November 1. 2013 we discovered that we had no electrical power in the wall plugs in the kitchen. We selected Divine Electric from Angie's List based on the good reviews and customer comments. A call to the company got us a late afternoon appointment with caveats which we understood. Closer to the time of the appointment, we received a call informing us that they would not be able to keep the appointment that day but that they would come on Saturday morning. The electrician arrived promptly Saturday morning, diagnosed the problem, repaired it in short order, and was on his way. We were very pleased with the results and found the electrician to be personable and professional. We haven't had to have an electrician do work for us in many, many years so we were surprised at the price. It seemed high to us but we really have no basis for comparison. We are glad it is done and that Divine Electric went out of it's way to take care of our problem.
Description of Work: We had a whole circuit of wall plugs that did not work in our kitchen. Divine Electric replaced a defective GFI switch (we provided the switch) and rewired another GFI switch also in the kitchen.

I called the owner Jesse on Tuesday and told him that I needed service asap. He made a call and was able to fit me in the next morning. The tech, Chris arrived right on time. He was professional and explained what would need to be done in order to install the sconces. Once we agreed on the price he went right to work. We were thrilled with the work. The price was a bit high but Chris worked for 3 1/2 hours. If we paid a little more than with another company it was worth it because of the quick turn around and the great quality of service.
Description of Work: Instal sconce, and cabinet lighting.

The service was provided the same day we called. In fact they even moved the time up when they finished another job early. The work was done quickly and competently and with good problem-solving when not all components were provided. At our request, a free panel tune-up was provided. We were then able to discuss a future project and get good suggestions. We were very pleased with this service and are highly likely to use them again.
Description of Work: Took down ceiling fixture, replaced it with ceiling fan and corrected three-way switch.

It was an okay experience. They were prompt to send out a guy and he called me after the work was done. However, they should've been more upfront about what amount of electrical work $99 represents.

I purchased a coupon on Angie's List for electrical service so I only paid for a fuel charge. Chris arrived right on time and is definitely the best electrician I've seen in a long time. I wish I knew him when I had my new electrical panel put in last year. He was polite and very quick - - asking questions when he needed to. It was a really easy visit and I'm very pleased with the new lights.

Their price was great. I checked around and was glad I went with them. The guy that came, Chris, was punctual and very tidy. He went straight to work and was finished quickly. I was very satisfied and I would use them again.

Once the technician go here, the job went well, but scheduling the work was a problem. The first appointment was for 8 am on a Tuesday morning. I received a call from the technician telling me he would be there by 9 am. I told him my appointment was for 8 am and I had to leave for work. He replied that the times were ranges, and he was scheduled for 8-10 am. That is not what Jesse indicated, who I spoke to on the phone. The technician then showed up in my driveway the next morning, when I did not have an appointment. I rescheduled for Saturday, and he was a no-show. Jesse called to say that he was ill and wasn't going to make it, after the appointment time. About 10 days later, Jesse called and scheduled another technician, Keith, for this past Friday. He showed up promptly and resolved all of my electrical issues. He was very professional and I was pleased with the job. They gave me an additional $50 discount to compensate for the previous scheduling issues.

The provider took some time to get back to me after buying the deal and took a couple of weeks for them to be able to come. It seems that because of their deal, they were extremely busy. The day of the appointment they came on time, were very professional and finished the work in a reasonable amount of time. I was very happy with the work

When I contacted Divine Electric Company, I explain to them I was concern about what seem to be burns on the insulation in my attic. I was afraid of an electrical fire. I explain to him my husband was disabled and we need some one to check this out immediately. I contacted them about 10am. I was told a tech would call me back. I did not receive a call back by 3pm so I called another provider and they came within 30 minutes. I called Divine Electric to let them know not to come because I had found someone else. I was told the technician was working on another call at the time and did not have his phone with him when he was called regarding my request. Devine Electric apologize for this and felt very sorry. I feel he was very sincere and I would consider using them again.

I called them to set up an appointment because I was looking to have the work done quickly. They told me that they would charge a $49 trip fee even though I was listed within the service area as well as an additional $190 to install a new ceiling fan. A total of $289.00 was too expensive for switching out a fan.

This was a $99 Electrical Special that required replacing a GFI outlet that kept cutting off. It took two weeks before the actual problem was discovered which was a fading waterfall pump. The service person was very nice and polite but missed several appointment times which was very frustrating with my busy work schedule.

I am glad you were satisfied overall with our service and I apologize we had to reschedule an appointment we were just very busy and sometimes schedules are out of our control. We did make a second trip back to replace a GFCI (at no charge) as a warranty repair, the issue was not due to our electrical wiring but was the result of a faulty pump. On Labor day our power went out. No one wanted to perform a service call on labor Day. I had used Divine Electric before so I called them again. I was happy to hear that they were willing to come out and perform the work. I expected there to be a large fee for working on a holiday, but they didn't raise the price since I was a repeat customer. It's good to know that some companies still value their repeat customers and go above and beyond to help people out. I respect this company.

LET ME PREFICE THIS REVIEW THAT DIVINE ELECTRIC DID DO THE FULL JOB, BUT ONLY AFTER JESSE DIVINE HAD MADE ME CRY! No one ever came to the job to price it. We could only afford $1,000 for the job after a very stressful phone call and the price increasing another $200,, Jesse did give us a $400 Angie's List Discount. My issues are not with the cost. I understand that companies have to make a profit; my issues are with the treatment we received when we tried to have only $1,000 worth of work done. Divine Electric showed up telling us right away that the job would cost $1,200.. Last evening Jesse Divine quoted my husband $900 to $1000, according to my husband, but according to Jesse $1200. Regardless of any misunderstanding all we could afford was $1,000. I called Jesse Divine to tell him that we could only have $1,000 worth of work done. He then told me that the job would be over $1,200 because the trench was longer than he had expected.. I asked for a breakdown of costs so that we could have only $1,000 worth of work done. He said that he didn't do breakdowns by foot because he had lost money by doing that. I told him that we were on a fixed income, both retired, and that we have always had to be very aware and careful of where we spent our money. First he told me that the majority of the costs were because he had to drive 1hr and 15 minute to our house. When I told him that maybe I couldn't afford him then and we would just pay for what had already been done, he then said that the majority of his cost was charging us for rental of the trench digger. I began to ask more questions about why his employee had to go to Home Depot to get parts and why didn't they carry parts in their trucks. He then raised his voice at me and told me not to chastise him. I tried to interrupt once and he said crossly "let me finish!" I quietly listen to all his reasons why he didn't appreciate me chastising him. He offered ways, like using a credit card to pay for the additional costs, because for him to come back would be even more expensive. I told him that we didn't like using credit cards for something like this. He suggested other ways that we might pay him the additional money. Once he finished I tried to explain why we just couldn't afford $1,200 so that we would only be able to have part of the job done. He had said several times that he understood the economy is bad etc. and so when I tried to explain to him that he couldn't understand how it was to live on a fixed income, and that all our lives we have had to be careful with our money and told him again that I understood that he had to make a profit, and that I hadn't meant to chastise him, he interrupted me! He began again to tell me how I had chastised him. He would not listen. All we want to do is pay only $1,000, I tried to tell him that was all we could afford. Finally I let him rant! During his rant he told me that he was doing me a big favor! (WHICH HE DID AFTER HE MADE ME CRY) He then promised to have his worker give us a breakdown of what he will do for $1,000 and how he will make things ready for him to return when we have money! This young man just didn't understand! What we want at that time was to pay him for $1,000 worth of work, whatever that would be and then never see him again! His professionalism is non-existent, I felt like I was dealing with a 10 year old! I have never had such a terrible experience with any contractor in my life! I appreciated him finally choosing to do us a big favor and take $400 off the job and did everything accept fill in the trench which I had told him we would do to get as much done with $1,000 as we possibly could. The Angie's discount? I believe that I earned every penny of it on the phone with Jesse!
Description of Work: Install/connect electricity to our minim barn: dig trench, lay wire, wire the barn, install outlets. All was done accept filling in the wire trench, which we chose to do to save money.

This is not an honest review or an accurate reflection of our business. Please see our other excellent reviews for a real picture of who we are. It is always our goal to make every customer happy and we tried very hard with this customer despite her insulting our business on the phone. When this customer called me I informed her she was not in our area and it was to far for us to work. The customer was calling companies in Charlotte when they lived south of Lancaster which was an hour and a half away. She informed me she couldn't get any contractors to work out there and pleaded to have us come out. I did so out of sheer good will. I quoted her husband a ball park price of $900-1200 for the work they described. The customer agreed and I reiterated to them upon arrival we would give them the firm price since we has not seen the job. This customer lied to us about the length of the trench that needed to be dug. Over the phone the informed me it was 50' and it was actually 95' almost double. We immediately informed them the price would be $1400 but with a discount it would stay at $1200. The customer again was dishonest and said I told her it would be $1000 on the phone. She than proceeded to insult me and my business about having to get materials. I asked her to stop and please treat me like a professional. The customer was very aggressive towards me and would not let me explain why we needed to get materials. Without seeing the job we don't know what to bring, I wish I was Psychic but unfortunately I am not. It would make no sense to come out with conduit when we might need Romex. The customer said she only had $1000 to spend and i told her that's fine I'll give you additional discounts since it would cost me more in fuel to come back to a job so far away. The customer at no point cried or seemed too upset and they where very happy with the work we performed. I am very disappointed this was not a better experience for both parties but being dishonest and rude will only worsen your encounter in any situation. I called this customer and apologized after the review posted and offered her a coupon for a future job. I hope that if we work together again the customer will treat us with the respect we give everybody. Thank you and please see our other reviews as we have many satisfied customers.
