Jon was punctual, courteous, and professional. He did a great job for us. It's nice to have worked with an electrician I can call again in the future.

I called around 11:30 on a Saturday morning and one of the technicians was onsite by 12:15 checking the panels. He diagnosed a faulty outside breaker and luckily had one on the truck - the outside panel is 40+ years old and so were most of the components inside. In less than an hour our power was fully restored. The tech was very professional and capable and completely cleaned both panels, an excellent experience.

Contacted David Long through his website. David called within a few hours and we discussed the 3 items I needed done. His guys were able to come 4 days later on a Saturday, the day I requested, right on time. They repaired an exterior light that was not working. They also installed a new motion light on the back of my house that wasn't working well. Finally they installed a new bathroom exhaust fan. The bathroom exhaust fan obviously took most of the time as it involved cutting sheetrock, installing the fan, wiring it to a new electrical switch and venting the fan across my attic and out an exterior wall of my house. While installing the bath fan, a joint in my sheet rock did split, but I do not believe it was a result of poor workmanship at all...it just happened. The guys let me know right away and then proceeded to finish the job as expected.

The men arrived on time and were very nice. They asked for me to walk them around and point out what I needed done. One man started to work on installing the bedroom closet light and the other went to work on the ceiling fan light. The gentleman working on the ceiling fan told me that some part on the light kit needed to be replaced.....he mentioned that I could run up to like Lowe's or Home Depot because if they did it they would have to charge for time and stuff. I asked him....."you mean like go out now?" I don't even know these men and although they were very nice I was not about to leave them in my house while I went searching for a part that i know nothing about. They are the electricians, not me. I just said forget about the fan I will deal with that later and basically just confirmed with him that he was telling me he could not fix my fan today.....which is one of the main reasons why I called them. The light in the bedroom closet was installed and worked fine. I then asked about a couple of wall plug outlets and he said it would only be about a couple dollars to replace and easy to do. So I told him to go ahead. While they were upstairs replacing one of the wall outlets, he jumped and it was obvious an electrical current hit him. He said he was fine. I noticed that my clock was flashing in my bedroom and I asked him if it could have been because of that electrical current that hit him because I never noticed the power go off. I never really got a straight answer but something flicked my clock off. When they finished they left me with a $192 bill for replacing the bedroom closet light and replacing the 2 wall outlets... and my fan, well it never got fixed so I am still going to have to figure that out. My husband walks on our treadmill every morning and the very next day (the day after the electricians were here) he went to walk on the treadmill and it did not come on. It did not work. I even went to the electrical box in my laundry room to make sure the switch had not flipped for some reason. I immediately thought about the electrical current that hit the electrician and flicked my clock off. Honestly, it could be a total coincidence, but I just find that very odd that the treadmill worked the day before the electricians came and did not work the next day, especially considering the current incident. So now, not only do I still need to find a way to fix my ceiling fan, but i also now have to pay for someone to come out and fix my treadmill. Also, just to note....I later that day went to Lowe's like the electrician was saying for me to do to replace part of the light kit and the guy at Lowe's told me that they don't carry parts like that and that I needed to go to an electrical supply house or a lighting store for what I needed. Now wouldn't an electrician know that??? So why would he tell me to go to Lowe's??? Anyway, the men were very nice and polite, but overall I was diappointed. And I also really was not comfortable when they mentioned I could go run out and get a part while they stayed at my house. It is also probably not the best thing to use someone whose business is clear across town basically an hour away, even if he does state that he works in your area. Better to stick with someone that will be more easily accessible. Signed, Still looking to get my fan fixed and now having to also fix a treadmill.

I had to call them only to find out that they were cancelling and rescheduling with us. They didn't even reach out to let us know.

An electrician came out first to get a detailed understanding of what needed to be done. This included not only walking around the outside, but looking at the fuse box, figuring out the best location for the monitor and recorder for the security cameras, going up in the attic to preview exactly how the wiring for a new, designated outlet would need to be done, its location on which wall, etc. The electricians who did the work were courteous, prompt, and professional.

I had never used David Long Electrical before and was extremely pleased. From the initial appointment phone call thru installation of my new ceiling fan, outdoor light, and wall sockets - everything was done quickly and completely professionally! They even alerted me that some previous electrical wall sockets work I had done a long time ago was incorrect and they fixed it free of charge......

I called the office of David Long and left a message regarding scheduling an appointment. They called me back in less than 24 hours and were able to give me an appointment for the following work day. The electrician came to my home on time and dressed in a clearly identifiable uniform. He replaced 2 outdoor spot lights and solved the mystery of why one of my indoor ceiling fans had suddenly stopped working. He was polite, offered suggestions regarding electrical timers, was careful not to bring any wet leaves or dirt into the home, and quickly wrote up the bill/receipt. I have been calling David Long for all electrical work, outdoors and inside my home, for more than 5 years and have never been disappointed in the quality of their professionalism and labor.

Appointment was made very soon after I called. The electrician showed up on time and finished the work in less than 2 hours. He could have used another pair of hands. I had a 42" hood which is larger than normal, but I neglected to tell them that beforehand. He did an excellent job of installing the new hood, but I thought they charged a little too much.

best experience in dealing with a company, they were quick to respond, friendly, professional, honest, very experienced. I highly recommend and from now on I would not call anyone else next time I need electrical work done.

All of the work was done extremely well by Jon. He was professional, polite and experienced. After two other electricians could or would not do some of the things Jon did, I realized that I needed someone with a good track record and more experience. I first spoke with David himself on the phone to let him know what I needed, and he was knowledgeable and quickly put me on the schedule. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs electrical work done.

We lost power in the middle of the night, after the lights flickered off and on all evening. Duke Energy found that our circuits had smoldered and burned out and needed to be replaced.We contacted David Long Electrical Contractors; they came out the same day and made a temporary fix ($266.00) so we would have power. After going over everything, it was decided that the best course of action was to relocate the Breaker box from the outside wall on the deck to the inside wall of the utility room. This required a permit from Mecklenburg County. David Long obtained the permit and started with the work the same day the permit was granted. The new breaker box was relocated and everything was reconnected within one day ($1,945.00). I also need to mention that the work was done on one of the hottest days in the summer, with them temps hovering right above 100 (July 20). David Long contacted the County Inspector as well as the Utility Inspector to let them know that the work was done. Both came out and gave it the thumbs up. We no longer have any flickering lights or power outages due to our breakers. This is a class A company and I will hire them again and again and have already recommended them to our extended family and friends.

They were both friendly and very professional, and did a great job. Quality of the work was excellent. They arrived when scheduled and finished the work in one day. They explained exactly what they planned to do, and offered alternatives when there was more than one way something could have been done (for example location of the new panel). I would definitely use them again if I need electrical work in the future.

Dave replaced 2 ceiling fans for me. One of the ceiling fans that was being replaced appeared to have a short and I decided to contact an electrician instead of using my handyman in order to determine if the problem was the fan or the outlet / switch. Since I was having this done, I decided to go ahead and have another ceiling fan replaced that I had wanted to replace for some time. I chose Dave Long due to the excellent reviews as well as his hours of operation. I prefer, when possible, to schedule service calls outside of my work hours. I contacted Dave on a Tuesday, explained my issues and he was able to fit me into his schedule the coming Saturday. Dave contacted me the day before my appointment and explained that he would be running late due to an emergency with another customer that had come up. I appreciated this as through the years many service people have just left me hanging. After Dave arrived, he got right to work installing the new ceiling fans and had both up in little or no time. I have other electrical projects I would like to do in the future, such as installing additional lighting in my kitchen and will definitely give Dave a call.

Overall this was a great experience. The technician arrived promptly, listened to my description of the problem, and quickly found the issue. The light in our pool was wired backwards and was sending a charge back to the area, causing a charge in the handles of the pool ladder and stairs, as well as a bit in the water. He fixed the issue and explained everything, making sure I approved of the solution.

I researched electrical contractors on Angie's List and decided to give David Long a call. His receptionist was very nice and accomodating and said she would have David call me--which he did almost immediately. Set up an appointment at our convenience and two of his guys (wish I could remember their names, but I can't) showed up on time, did the work quickly and professionally and gave me their findings clearly and in detail (nothing major, but some potential problems). When I said I wanted to pay them then by credit card, he called David and David said he was on a job, but would call me and get my credit card information later. That was on a Thursday. Since I hadn't yet heard back from David regarding the bill (although I had a copy of the report of the findings as well as the charges for the work), the first thing I did the following morning was mail them a check. People who give you good service at a fair price should be paid immediately for their efforts. We will use David's company again in the future.

Very prompt and professional. The job was done perfectly.I had been trying to figure out what was wrong with our recessed lighting in the kitchen.....we couldn't get the trims to beflush with the ceiling. John came and took a look and told us exactly what to get. We had been trying to get an answer on thisproblem for some time. We are very happy.

David Long Electrical Contractors Inc was terrific. They took care of everything quickly and professionally. The ceiling fans are a wonderful addition to the house, but the greatest benefit is the new smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Jon was very knowledgable and advised me what devices would be best to buy. Our existing detectors were draining batteries very quickly and beeping regularly. He really went the extra mile to figure out exactly what the issue was and repair it completely. David called me several times to discuss the problems, make suggestions, and see how everything went. I highly recommend David Long Electrical and will use them for any electrical issues in the future.

He arrived on time, advised up front of his hourly rate, and worked quickly and efficiently to resolve the problem. It ended up being a minor problem with a simple fix - the cost was more than appropriate for the time spent. This is the third time I have used David Long Electrical, and I have never been disappointed

From start to finish, it was a delight.

While replacing the old light switches and outlets in a bedroom I was painting, I found that one outlet was registering an open ground. The problem persisted even after replacing the recepticles so I knew the problem was elsewhere. I called David Long Electrical to have a professional check it out. The call was initiated very late on a Friday so I did not expect a call back on the same day. I did get a return call early the next week and we arranged a 5:00 appointment at the house. I left work early and got home to find he had already arrived. Nice to see that kind of punctuality. John began confirming and diagnosing the issue. Although it took a bit of tracing to map out the whole circuit (which spanned outlets in 4 rooms including the master bath, master bed, hall and second bedroom), the issue was found in the light switch of the master bathroom. The wiring on this switch apparantly was not installed correctly when the house was built (over 20 years ago). The fix was simple enough and the circuit was now operating as it should.

The experience was GREAT! It was a Saturday morning and i submitted a request for service via their website. To my surprise, David Taylor gave me a call about an hour later and said he could dispatch a technician to my home. Bobby arrive 20 mins later! He immediately understood the problem, explained it to me, and then set about replacing the switch.

Everything went better than I expected. I would ask for Bobby again the next time I have any electrical needs.
