DAVID LONG ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR INC

We contacted the provider at 10pm Thursday night after we had tried several things to get the smoke detector to stop chirping. They returned the call within 5 minutes. The person we spoke to listened and gave us some things to try. He also stated they would come out, but we decided to try these things and contact them in the morning. Unfortunately the problem did not resolve but when we contacted the office they scheduled technicians to come out that afternoon. When the technicians (Jon and Josh) arrived they introduced themselves and were very professional. They worked on finding the problem and were able to not only fix the problem but found that one detector was not connected and another had a bad wire. They also checked and fixed a couple of lights. The cost was very reasonable and well worth it.

They were excellent. I found them through Angie's List. We wanted an inside light switched out, and an inside light switched out, and another light put in the garage, and a switch put on one of the light. When I was at the hardware store, I figured this was a single bulb, and we could get a fixture that would hold more bulbs, and that way we wouldn't have to have extra work when they start digging into the dry wall, and running chords.

An electrical problem caused us a whole house power outage on a Sunday afternoon, leaving us with no lights, no HVAC, no hot water and no way to cook. Emergency. David Long listed Sunday hours. We called and left a message with the answering service (typical for after-hours) and awaited a return call. We did not receive that call until mid-morning on Monday. Thankfully, another provider came through for us.

The hole in the ceiling looked like a perfect circle the exact size of the base of the fixture - he didn't even have to trace the circle before cutting. We were very careful in selecting the fixture to do all that we wanted and were surprised when it needed additional parts to hang properly from a vaulted ceiling.

They showed up on time and were very courteous. They also upfitted an outside electrical outlet with the proper cover. I would definitely use them again. .

The installed was brilliant. Both technicians were professional and courteouis. I would recommend anyone needing a qualified electrician. We have already discuss doing some more work in the future. The only hiccup was with their daytime receptionist who didnt communicate all the details of the work that was to be done. So through nofault of their own, is why I give them an A.

DAVID LONG RESPONDED PROMPTLY, EVALUATED THE SITUATION THOROUGHLY, MADE RECOMMENDATIONS, AND FOLLOWED UP VERY QUICKLY WITH A WRITTEN, DETAILED ESTIMATE FOR ALL THE PROPOSED WORK. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED. UNFORTUNATELY, HIS PRICE EXCEEDED MY NEED AND I DID NOT HAVE HIM DO THE REPAIR WORK. HAD HIS PRICE BE WITHIN MY BUDGET, I WOULD HAVE HAD HIM DO THE WORK AND I FEEL SURE HE WOULD HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.

Arrived in the time window provided, got straight to work and completed the work in a timely manner. Cleaned up afterwards.

I had called several companies to come out and check the wiring in my ceiling, because of the dark spots in the insulations. My husband and I felt like this maybe an electrical issue and we did not want to go through another house fire. Believe me, if you have ever had a house fire once, you do not want another. Since my husband is disabled and confined to a wheelchair I was very concern. I called several companies and could not get a comment from anyone to come out immediately or the same day. When I talked with Kathy at David Long Electrical Co., she was so understanding and caring. Within thirty minutes after explaining to her my concern she had technicians at my house. The tech's was very professional and check out the problem right away. The wiring was fine and what I was seeming was mole in the insulation and not smoke from an electrical wire burning. Although we are not happy about the mole, we are so relieved to know what the problem was. If I am ever in need of electric service I will definitely call this company. I highly recommend them!

After contacting 5 electricians, where they either did not call me back or were not taking on new clients, I finally found DL Electrical on Angie's List. Mr. Long personally called me back (same day on a Friday night) to inquire about my needs and assured me that they would schedule me in - which they did! Two electricians came out and did around four hours of work. They were prompt and professional and even went above and beyond what I had asked for (checked my bathroom vent and even took it out to clean it, to ensure that it was running efficiently). Overall, a great job. I would most certainly call them back and will (have another punch list that they need to do for me!). Thanks DL Electricial!

Jon and Rick called about 30 minutes before they arrived. They were very professional and got right to work. They got here on time and I described what needed to be done. They didn't have on their truck what was needed for the garage lights, so Jon went up to a supply house while he left Rick to get started on the kitchen light and receptacle and also to start on the garage light. Jon returned with the supplies and they finished up the garage. Everything was done exactly as we wanted. We will definitely use them again for electrical work that needs to be done around the house. Quick, efficient. Great attitude. No mess! We have used David several times over the years for both repair and new electrical work. He is always on time, efficient, reasonable in cost, and has a great attitude.

Outstanding. On time, extremely professional, a job well done. We are moving our computers to a back bedroom and a lot of changes were needed. The charges were reasonable, they worked efficiently and well.

All the work was perfect, D Long Electric was on time, professional and reasonably priced. Fast forward to 2013. We are selling the house. We had a buyer and were going through the buyers inspection. There was an apparent problem with the ground fault circuits in the breaker box. I allowed my realtor to select his contact to do the work. It sounded like a simple fix. It was the day before the move and I met the electrician. The movers were packing up and the electrician showed. I also had another contractor out to do some other repairs so it was relatively busy. The electrician said he was all done and that he tested the breaker and it was working. He showed me the breaker was tripping correctly and he was off..... The movers go upstairs and turn on the light in guest bedroom....the breaker trips. Sweet. I reset it and turned the light on.....trips again. Great. So the electrician that came out essentially had to wire in the ground fault....apparently it was never wired in. I called the company and they said they would need to send someone out tomorrow. I said....I am moving out tomorrow. Sorry, sir....nothing we can do. I was in a pinch and I had to do something. I called David and asked him for advice. I told him what was going on and he said since his crew previously worked on the wiring in the house he felt it was his duty to come take a look (keep in mind it was 4PM). He said he would be at the house within an hour. David personally showed up to inspect the problem. He re-wired half of the breaker box, showing me everything that was not wired properly from the initial home build. He spent about an hour with me fixing the sub-par workmanship. I offered to pay him and he wouldn't accept it. Oh....and as far as the original electrician that came out and couldn't fix the problem.....I told him the problem "mysteriously went away". Of course they said "OK sir, have a good day". Thanks David Long....If we ever find our way back to the fine Greater Charlotte region we will use you again!!!!

Very polite gentleman who cleaned a 2 story entry foyer chandelier was just wonderful. In 10 years in our house we've never been able to do that! Gentlemen arrived on time, explained what he was doing and why. We will use them again if needed.

David Long Electrical sent both an electrician and an apprentice to do the work. They spent 10 minutes in our home. While they did the work we requested, the company has a one hour minimum charge. A one hour minimum charge is fair, but they charged us one hour for the electrician and another full hour for the apprentice. Sending two people to do a job that one electrician could do in under 20 minutes, and then charging for two full hours at full electrician rates, is not fair. We won't be using them again.

Told Dave I needed a hot tub wired up on Tuesday evening, June 4th, or Wednesday June 5th. Didn't think he would be able to get to it till Friday, but checked his schedule, called me back with Wednesday morning appointment. Guys showed up early, ran wire from breaker box to tub, and turned it on! Great service, great price, great response, excellent attitude. Will surely use them again for future needs. This was professional work at its finest. Thanks again Dave!

These guys were top notch. Living room outlet kept popping and sparking. Called them first thing Tuesday Morning. Receptionist took my information and said they would call back. Received a call from David twenty minutes later. Explained the issues and he said they would be out sometime in the morning. They showed up around 10am and took care of everything. They looked at a number of small issues besides the one I called them about. They worked quickly and were very professional. Plan on using them again for a couple projects we have planned.

He did a good job and I was happy with the job he did. I wanted to put in a second electrical line in my 3rd floor, the owner and guys looked at it and were supposed to give me an estimate, never heard back about it.

Everything went very well, did not have any problems.

We had squirrels in our attic that had chewed through the wires for our outside flood light. The gentleman turned off the breaker for me, and provided key information on what I needed to do before repairing the damage. Since then, they have been over to our rental property to fix the dryer faulty breaker, and are headed back over today to repair the squirrel damage.

I am pleased with their work and David and his guys seemed really nice. David took a long time talking to me while I explained the issues I had. He was really smart and gave me advice about the circuits in my house. He had a lot of good ideas and gave me an estimate on how long he thought the work would take to get my house up to code. He gave me an estimate and the final price stayed right under his estimate. They also checked all the outlets in my house but did not repair all of them.

They are just wonderful! I recently moved to New York and wish I could have brought them with me! He's very responsive and calls me back as soon as possible. We are able to make an appoitment very soon and they always get there on time. They work very hard and are very courteous and professional. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

I called David Long Electrical the day after christmas because we lost are lights christmas eve. They sent someone over the very next day and Jon did a wonderful job of explaining everything he was doing and what needed to be done. Work was done in no time all. Jon also answered questions we had about the old electrical box that we had in the house and told us he would have some one send us a email giving us a estimate on what it would cost to fix.
