Dryer was out of manufactures warranty so the store that the appliance was purchased from directed me to Carolina Appliance Service instead. Technician came out within a day of the call, was punctual, curteous and very professional. He had the unit up and running within half an of diagnosing and installing the faulty part. Cost for diagnosis, labor and parts was reasonable to other companies. I would definitely call them in the future for other home appliance repairs as needed.

Called Carolina Appliance Services on Monday afternoon and they were able to schedule an appointment for Tuesday morning at 7am. That was great because it helped me be at work on time. Mark, the person that worked on the dryer, was there on time. He was professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He listened to the dryer and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it in 30 mins. Wonderful experience, I highly recommend them.

The service tech first called to see what the issue was and he instructed my daughter to unplug the refrigerator and allow it to thaw out. Since she had items in the freezer and it was still working she only turned the ice box side off and removed the contents such as milk, juice and ect. Upon arrival, as promised, he found that she had not fully followed his directions and he unplugged the unit to allow it to thaw out. He returned the next day and found the problem to be a defective thermostat. Once replaced the refrigerator began to work properly. He did not overcharge even though he had to make 2 trips. This is the 2nd time that we have used this company and have been very satisfied. Please note that I only guessed at the service date for I do not remember the exact date. Sorry, Jim.

Carolina Appliance Repair was awesome. They showed up on time. Looked at out dryer and determined it would cost more to fix it then replace it. The service person recomended replacing it and did not charge for service call. I have used them a few times and are my go to company when it comes to appliance repair.

Bob told us the cost of repairs would be better spent on a new machine.
Description of Work: Our washer went on the blink. Bob came out and took a look at the washer and gave us an estimate on what repairs would cost. He advised us that if he were us he would not choose to repair the washer but would buy a new washer. He also suggested the price range of washer that would be best for us. We told Bob we would take his advice and buy a new washer. Bob did not charge us anything for the service visit. We know we will call Carolina Appliance Service whenever we need appliance service.

Washing machine spin cycle would not work. Called Carolina Appliance at 8:45am on Saturday and they promptly dispatched a service technician who arrived at 9:30am. He quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired the machine within 30 minutes. Outstanding service and very knowledgeable and courteous technician. Price was fair market especially considering promptness of response.

Our built in microwave/ wall oven combination had stopped heating. Bill at Carolina Appliance came on Friday, diagnosed the problem and scheduled the repair for Wednesday due to a part that needed to be ordered. Wednesday, he came back, replaced the magnetron tube and fixed the problem. He even took the time to take the magnets out of the old magnetron tube and give them to my 11 year old son (who watched him perform the repair) who was delighted. Bill was very nice and I felt comfortable with him around my family (not something that comes easy for me). The repair estimate was $350 but they only charged $285. That was a nice surprise.

The repairman was very courteous. He agreed that the amount of water was more than should be usual (he could tell how much had recently been there by the discolored water stains across the bottom of the dishwasher). He made sure there were no clogs within the dishwasher, and he said the water was running fine. Just before he left, he had done a short run of the dishwasher, and I was surprised to put my hand on the bottom toward the back and found water. When I asked him about it, he said that amount of water was normal; but the extent of the water previously, as evidenced by the water stains, was abnormal. He said if I had more problems they could come out and pull out the dishwasher (which he had not done) and investigate further. The dishwasher is still leaving some water in the basin after it completes its cycle, but it doesn't seem to be at the level that had made the water stain come forward as far into the basin as it had previously. I confess to being nervous about how "normal" the water in the basin is (I'd run the machine for 8 years and frankly never looked or noticed any water in the basin). Given the cost of the service call, I'm not anxious to call them back unless the problem gets worse again. But I would call the same company; I think they know what they are doing.
Description of Work: Dishwasher was leaving water in the bottom after running. Hadn't noticed water before, and it seemed to be a significant amount of water. Company came and looked at dishwasher.

The associate arrived at my house about 2 hours earlier than the assigned time. It was quite pleasant to have some one to come only 90 minutes after the call. The associate was friendly and professional. He diagnostic the problem within 15 minutes and replace the bad electronic card assembly in 5 more minutes. He showed me the burned out switch and said it was a common failure. He powered on the unit and could hear the compressor running. He explained to me the board controlled then entire function of the refrig. Next he wrote out the bill and took my credit card. I was quite impressed with the quick response time and repair time.
Description of Work: The associate diganosed the failure(unit not cooling) and repaired the unit by swapping out the electronic board.

After it was determined that my dryer was running too hot, the service man checked outside and discovered an opposum trying to go into my dryer vent the with dryer air blowing. He said my vent needs to be replaced with rigid pipe and reconnected and the hood to the dryer vent was missing. He gave me some good advice and was very knowledgable! I will have to call another company to get a new dryer vent under the house.
Description of Work: My dryer was overheating, and I called Carolina Appliance. They came out the same day and notified me of the problem. The dryer is not venting to outside because it is likely an opposum is making a home there and has disconnected the vent. The service man was very knowledgable and concientious. I would recommend them in the future.

Fantastic. Called late in the day on Wednesday and they resolved the issue by 8:30AM the next day. Just a solid go to company.

Service Tech arrived in promised time slot. He replaced value and tested it. He was finished in less than 30 minutes.
Description of Work: Water Value in Washing Machine went bad. Washer had not been used for 3 days. On its on, it filled up the Washer and then starting overflowing onto floor. We shut off House Water supply, mopped up water from floor and called for service. Thank goodness they were able to come that day. Service man replaced value, turn on Water, ran a short rinse cycle. Washer worked fine, no extra water was sent to Washer or onto floor.

I shopped over the weekend for a inexpensive new dryer and found a Whirlpool without any of the features mine has for $299. Mine has moisture sensor and other convenient bells and whistles and the basic model I can now afford, just have a knob, door, and when you close it, it dries the clothes. Once they delivered, took away my old one, and installed it, the price was $440. I decided to see anyone still repaired large appliances because I like my dryer and have been satisfied for more than 10 years, and was shocked to find this company among others in a google search. Searching Angie's List, I found they had ok reviews. I called and left my name, number, and problem with the person who answered the phone. I received a call back the next morning 7:30 am from Kevin, the repair man. He got my address and gave me a time range of between 9-11am. I asked him to call me when he was on the way because I would be at work. He called and told me he would be there around 9:30. He showed up on time and diagnosed the problem. The cord was frayed through, I needed a new cord and I think a block he said. He had the items on his truck. I forgot to ask him how much, but when he said he could fix it, I was excited and figured if I got out below $200 and squeezed a few more years out of it, I would be ahead. I have a laundry closet instead of a laundry room and the dryer is in a small hallway area where he had to move it himself away from the wall. He worked on it about 45 minutes to an hour and tested it a few times. He gave me an invoice and told me yes when I asked if the $10 Angies list was included. He took my debit card number, but would also have taken a check. I was very satisfied and took a few cards to give to my friends in need of a good repairman. I just looked at the receipt before I file it away and found the $10 Angie's list discount was not included. That's not a huge deal, just make sure to ask for it and check.

I was very impressed with his knowledge and ability to solve both types of problems. The fact that he resolved my refrigerator problem at no extra charge was reason enough to recommend them.
Description of Work: The technician was professional and went right to work quickly repairing the coil burners on my stove. He quickly determined how much extra it would cost to repair what for the burners if he had to order a certain part. While he was there, I noticed water coming from what appeared to be my refrigerator area. He volunteer to look at it. After determining it was not the automatic ice maker (the water to it was cut off) he quickly concluded the drain line from the freezer for auto defrosting was clogged. He unclogged it (at no extra cost) and the problem was resolved!! Yeah!

When our bottom freezer door wasn't closing, I called GE first (the maker of our refrigerator/freezer) and they weren't going to have someone out until the next day (tomorrow). So I found Carolina Appliance Service on Angie's list and called them at 7:30 AM. They were here by 9:45. He realigned the bottom freezer door. I also asked the service technician (Billy) about our dishwasher door which had a broken spring. Billy had the part and fixed it in a matter of minutes. He was here a total of about 30 minutes if that. The price was a little high for the work and the amount of time he was here, but his prompt and professional service made up for it. I'd call them again and recommend them based on my experience.

Did not make call and did not call to inform us
Description of Work: Called Carolina appliance service at 7:00am to request service for tenant's refrigerator that was not cooling. Gave my name and phone #, and tenant's name and phone #. Carolina appliance stated they would have a repairman in the area this morning and would have him check the refrig and call me with an estimate. I was told the service charge was $89. but, with my Angie's list discount would be $79. plus parts. The tenant called me at 1:30 to say the repairman never came or called. I called Carolina Appliance at 1:35pm and was told that they did not go to our address. They stated they called me and left a message for me to call them. I did not receive a call from them, nor a message neither did my tenant. They stated that they would come to check the refrig tomorrow morning. We told them, no, we will have to find someone else who can repair the ref rig. This was the first time I have called Carolina Appliance and will be the last time I will call them.

I called for service on my Kenmore washing machine and a tech was at my house within 4-5 hours. A part had to be ordered. That was done and the tech returned with the new part and installed it. Very professional, friendly, and responsive. Couldn't ask for better response time. I've used this company 3-4 times and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Carolina Appliance Service did a great job! I called them at 8:30 am, the morning after our washing machine stopped working, and they had a technician (Joel) out to our house by 10:30 am that same day. Joel diagnosed the problem immediately, and then did a great job of going over the repair with me, as well as the repair cost, prior to completing the work. He was very professional, and completed the work in a timely manner. I will not hesitate to use Carolina Appliance Service again in the future.

I was SO disappointed! I called, told them the make and model of my dryer and they ASSURED ME they could fix it. Kevin came was late coming to my home, arriving after the 2 hour window I was told. He looked at my dryer door for about 15 minutes, told me he couldn't be sure what was wrong (after someone else on the phone promised me they could), replaced a $4.75 part and charged me $89 just for coming to my home! I explained how frustrated I was that he was charging me so much with an unsure repair. He then told me how I could order another $40 part from Sears, if his repair didn't work, and my husband could replace it himself! OR he would come back and replace it. His original $4.75 part replacement did not work. I am out $83.75 (I used a $10 Angie's List coupon) and my dryer still doesn't work. A rip off!! I will NEVER use them again!

I called at 8:30 a.m. and got an appointment scheduled for the same day in-between 11-1 p.m. I was unable to be at my house at that time so my father let the serviceman, Bill, inside and showed him to our laundry room. I got a gruff call from Bill at 12:15 p.m. explaining that the dryer wasn't working due to a clogged vent & that was not something they would fix. End of call. So, $140 later I have a dryer that still doesn't dry my clothes. I had to call the owner back to ask what I was supposed to do next - he referred me to another company that cleans out vents.

Bill had to replaced the thermastat. The dryer quit heating. It is designed to go bad so you do not have a dryer fire. He told your father to have a dryer vent cleaning company to come out and clean the dryer vent. The reason the thermosat went bad was because the vent was plugged with lint. If you do not have it cleaned it will blow the new thermosat in matter of minutes.
