Could not have asked for more responsive and professional service. Came exactly when he said he would. Quickly assessed the situation, was very careful about containing any water spills and fixed the problem. Highly recommend them and will use them again when needed.

They quoted me a reasonable price over the phone and then come over as scheduled. He examined the refrigerator carefully and told us we would need to replace it as it would be too expensive to repair. The technician was very helpful and we will definitely use them again. In addition he fixed an issue with our GE range that had been a problem for a while. This was the best repair experience we've had in recent years!
Description of Work: We had been having trouble with our refrigerator for quite some time when we finally called Carolina Appliance Service. They show up on time and quickly confirmed what we suspected: it was time for a new refrigerator.

I called on Friday after my washer wouldn't work after flashing a repair code. I called the authorized repair service Whirlpool recommended (which had a lower rating), but b/c they were backed up and it was coming up on Memorial Day weekend they made my appt. for the following Wednesday. I didn't want to wait that long so I joined Angie's List and called Carolina Appliance b/c of their high ratings and excellent reviews. I was shocked when I got an appt. for the next day (on Saturday, no less!) and the technician came out promptly and fixed my washer so I didn't have to wait another 4 days for the other company. He was very professional in his appearance and demeanor. I couldn't be happier (unless he would've stayed & done my laundry!) and I will definitely call on them again!

Got a call at 7:50am from the technician saying he would be there between 10-12, which didn't work for me, and he said he wasn't told the earlier time and couldn't come any other time today. I called the owner who was very rude, denied telling me that time, asked me twice who I was and where I lived and kept referring to me as a tenant, which I'm not. I asked if he had anyone that could help later today and he harshly said "No!" When explained to him again the situation, he asked about the age of the machine, it's an 8-yr old LG, and he said he wouldn't work on it anyway, that I should buy a new machine. Obviously he hadn't listened to me at all the day before and would have saved us both the angst. Very rude and unprofessional. I'm ver disappointed because I've used them in the past and was pleased, which is why I called them this time

When I placed the call and set up the appointment, I was given the date and time that I would be contacted. I told the person that answered the phone at the business that I had an appointment that day. She told me that when the technician called me that morning between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. I could set up the time for him to come over that day. When the technician, Mark, called around 7:05 a.m. today, he said that it could be at home by 7:30 a.m.. He arrive promptly at 7:30. He came in I told him that the washer would not spin. He checked out a couple of things. He replaced the door switch and showed me what the switch looked like. He said that the door switch would lock but it was not signaling and that was the reason the washer would not spin. I really appreciate the great service today. I would definitely use Carolina Appliance Service again and I would recommend them to family and friends.

Bill called on Tuesday as I had been told he would. He diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. I asked if the microwave could be fixed on Thursday (4/2) and he said he'd try his best. Got a call Thursday morning from Bill saying he could come by in a bit to fox it. He was very efficient and tidy.

The pump housing on our Kenmore washer broke due to a penny being stuck in there. Kevin, the repairman replaced the parts and was done within an hour. Wonderful experience and we would definately use them again.
Description of Work: Kenmore washer leaked and overflowed drip pan and water ran from 2nd floor down to kitchen ceiling. We called at night after we got home from work. The repairman called me the next morning prior to me even getting to work. Once we made contact he came out within 20 minutes and fixed our problem. Fast and efficient and friendly service.

I called yesterday afternoon for service. I was told they would call me between 7:30 a.m. and 8: a.m. the time they would arrive on the next day for service on that day. While they never called to gvie me an arrival time, my wife happened to be home and Bill, the repair man, arrived to fix the appliance around noon.
Description of Work: Opened top of LG Deluxe Dryer to see why it would not power on after I had called LG Customer Service to help me repair the dryer. Bill found loosely connected wires and one that was off, although the dryer was purchase brand new for over $1000 less than 2 yaers ago and had never been moved from its original installation point. He tightend the wires.

We had water coming out of refrigerator, but could not find where it was coming from ourselves, so called a Subject Mater Expert that had been referred to us, Carolina Appliance, checked out Angie's List online and confirmed company got good reviews. Set up an appointment and Erik came over on time and went through his checklist and quickly figured out where water was coming from. Defrost drain had gotten plugged up with mold. Eric pulled out pipe and cleaned it out Happy ending no more water on floor. Good job, and heck lot cheaper than buying a new frig.

Called to set up a service call and after the tech and I discussed the issue I was having, with our stove, he said he would be happy to come out but based on age and cost to fix the problem he felt I would be better served to purchase a new one. The repairman discovered that the wiring on the dryer was burned due to a faulty connection. He didn't feel comfortable replacing the wiring due to safety issues, but suggested that I contact the repair service company for the manufacturer. He didn't charge me for the visit which I thought showed excellent good will. I was a satisfied customer.

Our oven stopped working just days before Christmas right in the middle of my wife's cookie-baking and preparation for 30 guests for Christmas dinner. Bill came out on 12/20 and said he needed to order the part from Fayetteville, NC. This was a Friday before Christmas the next Tuesday. He assured us that the part would be received on Monday and he would install it that same day--Christmas Eve!!! Well, my wife nervously chewed her fingernails all weekend, without an oven. On Monday Bill called and said the part was in and he would be over shortly to install it. And he did. Christmas Eve afternoon, Bill was at our house installing the control panel and it was ready by Christmas dinner. Tremendous service and a life saver. Thanks, Bill.

Some of these dates might be slightly off, because this dragged on for over 2 weeks, but this is the gist of it. I called Carolina Appliance Service on approximately 2/20/14; after speaking with Bob on the phone, it was decided that the dishwasher main board was covered under warranty, but that the control panel ($110.36 + labor) was not covered. I gave him a credit card # to order the part from Samsung. The next morning Bob ordered the part and said it would take a week to get. Okay, I thought. Meanwhile, I decided to call Samsung to see if the dishwasher was still under warranty. After speaking with them, I discovered that because I had signed up online, my 12 mo warranty had been extended another 3 mos. Thus my warranty was up 3/24/2014. I was assigned a Samsung Transaction#, and told Samsung since I had a previous relationship with Carolina Appliance Service, I wanted the transaction assigned to him. This was done, Samsung emailed Bob the warranty information andthe Transaction #. It seems that I was always the one contacting Bob; in fact, I emailed him and told him that the unit was still under contract. I didn?t hear a word from him, so I called and asked him if he?d gotten my email. He said he never checks emails. Then, I called up Bob and told him the unit was still under warranty and I needed him to cancel the order using my credit card, as the part would be taken care of through the warranty. He told me he couldn?t do that, as he had already ordered the part. I told him fine, I would call my credit card company and cancel the transaction. He tells me he has never heard of an additional 3 months on a warranty. I tell him that there is one, I have spoken to Samsung, they have approved it, and to please check the Transaction # email. Now things go from bad to worse. I would call him daily, ask him if he received the part, when could he come out to fix the dishwasher? One day he calls me and says that he?d checked the Transaction # and the part is not covered, there is no warranty. Now he is basically calling me and Samsung a liar. He tells me to call Samsung to get it straightened out. I call Samsung, they tell me it is covered. On Friday, 2/28, Bob tells me that he will call me on Monday, 3/3, between 7 ? 7:15am to schedule an appointment. He also tells me that if I want him to fix it, I will need to pay in cash. What? Somewhere around 2/26, I started receiving calls from Samsung?s Warranty Division. They asked me when the provider was going to schedule an appointment to come out to do the service. I told them that he said the dishwasher was not under warranty, and that he had not received any parts. The Warranty Division did a quick search and found out he had received the part a day after he had ordered it. I checked with my credit card company, and also found out that he had credited the monies back to my account a day after he ran it. The Warranty Division asked me if I wanted to schedule someone else to come out and I said yes. They also told me that it should take just a day to get the part. Another Samsung-approved company came out yesterday. It was not the boards that were the problem, it was the water valve and a sensor that had run a muck. The technician told me that basically when the Smart-Auto light comes on, there are only 2 things that could be wrong with the unit ? and it has to do with water. The moral to this story is to make sure that you have a Samsung Authorized dealer do your work. And make sure that person is up on technology. I could have been out $229.00.
Description of Work: I have a Samsung dishwasher that kept displaying "Smart-Auto" code 10 mins after I turned on the machine. I called Bob at Carolina Appliance Service - I had been very happy with his service. Ultimately, I fired Bob regarding the Samsung Dishwasher - see below.

Worked like a charm. After about 10 minutes, the ignitors slowly stopped sparking. For being honest and competent, and not coming out and charging me a service fee for what was an easy DYI fix, Bob/Carolina Appliance Service has earned my trust and will get my business going forward. Glad to know there are guys like him still around.
Description of Work: I have a GE gas cooktop. I got a call from the cleaning people that they could not get the electronic ignitors to stop even though the knobs were all off. Sure enough, I came home and the ignitors were consistently sparking. They lit when I turned the gas on so I wasn't not worried about that but I couldn't get them to stop sparking. I tried using the control knob but all that did was buzz for a while until that finally stopped too. I even tried tripping the breakers to the stove and kitchen but no dice. So I call Carolina Appliance Service and I was starting to leave a message, Bob called back. I started to explain the issue, he knew what it was immediately and said to go get a hair dryer and to dry out under the knobs--that that would do the trick.

I called on a Monday, they scheduled me for a refrigerator ice-machine repair the next morning, and it all went well. The repairman called at 8 AM to confirm his scheduled arrival, and he arrived five minutes early (!). Polite, knowledgable, and neat. He diagnosed the problem as the ice maker motor (Whirlpool part W10190935) and quickly replaced the motor assembly. The whole procedure took no more than 30 minutes, and he charged me the base rate for the service call ($89) and the parts charge ($109.90). Total with tax was $206.18. I had called several other places, including the highest rated Angie's List provider (123 Appliance Repair) and other places sometimes had a cheaper estimate charge ($40-65) but they added $60-90 if you needed a repair. I knew I needed a repair, so the $89 labor charge of Carolina Appliance was actually cheaper. My only complaint about this service was the +300% markup of the part. I can buy that exact Whirlpool part (original manufacturer's) on Amazon for $30 (delivered). Carolina Appliance charged me $109 for the generic equivalent. I don't mind 100% markup on parts by service companies (they need to make money and stock lots of parts) but 300%? A bit much. I would use Carolina Appliance again, but i would also question their parts pricing carefully in advance. And I always keep the parts after they're repaired.
