Cabinets by KDS

We had to call and go by repeatedly. The owner lied to us about contacting Cardell. They kept the product for months and would not return any phone calls or e-mails. If we went to the showroom, Andy Estes, would just make up some story. He finally promised the product on a Friday and would deliver to our home. This did not happen. I went the following Friday to pick them up he was not in the office, rather out the very back of the warehouse. He tried to keep me waiting while he stalled meeting me. I finally went out into the warehouse and found him alone. I took the panels from him and told him I felt he was going out of business and was trying to hide that fact but regrdless he needed to ACT like a business owner and not an errant child. I have called the Cardell regional rep and he has agreed to make sure our product is repaired at the factory and delivered to our doorstep. He also stated, Andy Estes, never reached out to Cardell as we were told. KDS Cabinets is completely unable to conduct themselves in a professional manner and complete promised work. There were only two people there, Andy Estes and a female employee, which gave the distinct impression there are problems there. Other reviews on the internet indicate the sort of experience we had.

We met Steve at KDS, picked out what we wanted, and placed the order. We paid 60% down at the time of order. The delivery date came and went with no communication. My wife became frustrated that no one would return her calls, so I started trying to call from work. After being very persistent I was don't that the cabinets were being held on a truck in Texas and would not be released until funds owed the builder was paid. Understanding how these things can happen, I thanked them for the information and we continued to wait. This increased the cost of our project as the tile man and contractor both had to work around the delay - making numerous additional trips. Finally the cabinets did arrive and was installed. The faucet holes in the counter top was not drilled according to the diagram. One of the doors was hung backwards (opening the wrong way), and the cabinet top was too short to cover the end piece - which we still have sitting in our den. Several days and several phone calls later, we finally got the hardware installed. This was not a good experience. I told the receptionist that when the owner was willing to sit down and discuss the issues with me, I would right him a check for the balance. To date he has not agreed to sit down and discuss the matter with my wife and me, and to date we have not paid the remaining balance owed. This company is does not communicate once the order is placed and the deposit paid. Out of more than a dozen calls, not a single promised return call was ever made to my wife or me. We continue to await Andy's call so that we can sit face to face and resolve the final payment.

Everything was wonderful. We were pleased with the quality of the cabinet. We received a great price. The installers were a pleasure to work with for the project.

We are not using this company nor can I recommend them.

I was overall pleased with the experience at KDS. John R. picked up our project from another representative at KDS who left the company. He was professional and moved quickly to get our estimates and put together the drawings. My designer and I spent a lot of time working on the color palatte and materials, and he was patient throughout. The Dynasty line of cabinetry that KDS carries is top-notch plywood construction. In the end, we decided that custom cabinetry would best fit the needs of our large scale kitchen project and decided to move forward with a local cabinet maker. That said, I would not hesitate to consider KDS for future projects.
