Ace Concrete

We had a great experience. David came out to give me an estimate the same day I called him. We talked about different options regarding the walkway. He confirmed what we had suspected, that we needed a new driveway. At that point it made sense to do all the work at once. David came back one morning to go over the plans with my husband and we scheduled the job for two weeks later. David and his crew arrived right on time and worked long hours that first day due to a forecast of rain. They finished up the next day and it looks beautiful. David came back the next morning to fine-tune the work. He and his crew paid a lot of attention to detail and our neighbors are very complimentary. There was very little disruption to the lawn, considering the heavy equipment required. I don't think it could have gone any better. We had asked for a quote from one other company and it was much higher. We usually get three quotes, but Ace Concrete's reviews on Angie's List were so good that we went with them. We are very pleased.

Fantastic! David with ACE concrete was very responsive and came out on a Sunday to give me a quote. All the work started when scheduled and on time. All the work was done by the owner and employees, no sub contracting. I'm VERY please with the quality and finish of the concrete and additional attention to detail that helped me solve a water run off issue. I was also very satisfied with the highly competitive quote. Great Job and Experience!

Dave's concrete work were one of the few bright spots of this construction job. We received a number of estimates and hired Dave because he seemed the most knowledgeable and was one of the most reasonably priced. After the job was done, I can say that we would hire him again. We were very pleased with his work.

I had contacted Ace Concrete (David Stallings) and other providers from Angies List to give us an estimate to pour a concrete pad in the back yard. . From all the providers that I had contacted David came home and took a look at the back yard and gave us an estimate... He was easy to reach by phone and answered all our questions and also told us up front of the things that he couldn't do... That is move the AC unit. So we called our HVAC guy (another Angies list provider). After the HVAC guy moved the Air conditioner on Apr 24 David called us that evening and scheduled a date and time to pour the concrete.. We called him back on Wednesday evening so that we could ask him pour concrete on a different, we weren't ready cause we had to remove the old deck... But when we talked to David he was happy to come in a bit earlier on friday Apr 27 and remove the deck and then pour the concrete... We love the way how the concrete looks and we don't have to worry about the rabbit that use to hide underneath the deck anymore. We will hire David again when we want to expand our driveway.

Dave was as good as his word. He came when he said he would to do the bid. They came the same week and were done in a day (as promised). Our neighborhood (Old Madison Park) recently got new sidewalks and the tie in looks fantastic. To make the experience an A+, Dave and his crew helped me and the grand nephews, both age 4 1/2 (and of course the two dogs) put our hand (and paw) prints in the corner. Even going so far as to wipe out two poor attempts and encouraging us to keep trying till we got it right. That was totally unexpected, unnecessary and the kind of thing you just don't forget. I'd highly recommend Ace to anyone needing this kind of work done.

See above for work done. David the owner was there at all times, not only working but supervising any work done. He was on time, finished when he said, was polite and professional. Yes we will use him again, we have some more concrete work to be done in the near future.

David came out a couple days earlier than we originally expected to complete the job.. It rained unexpectaedly that night which caused the concrete to dry with some discoloration. David offered to rip it all up and repour it, but for what we needed, it was fine. Because it was not as "pretty" as he would have liked, he knocked a significant chunk off the original estimate. He really stands behind his work and takes pride in what he does. Would definitely use him again!!

Arrived about 20 mins early and began work immediately. They finished the job quicker than I thought and it looks great! I will definitely use them again.

They did a great job. They worked with us on cost and gave us a discount. It's a good company. We did shop around, he had a pretty competitive price and he was able to negotiate a little bit. He gave us a discount because of our age. I think he ate a little bit of the price of the concrete himself so he could get it at the price it was. With all of that he took the price down around $1000. They worked from first thing in the morning until dark. It took them about 3 days to get it all done, it was a lot of work. He also poured a patio, a walk way and a pretty good size parking area. He's a real hard working guy.

David was very responsive to provide an estimate for the work after he inspected the damaged driveway. The work was scheduled immediately. The crew showed up on time the day of construction. The concrete was broken up and removed, forms were placed, and a re-pour was done immediately afterward. I guess I was concerned they would tear up my lawn/landscaping or that of my neighbors, but they did not. Everything was done on time, neatly, and for a competitive price. I would definitely use Ace again. :0)

I contacted the company over the phone and explained what I needed on my driveway concrete. The guy looked at my driveway and provided me a much cheaper option to fix than having current concrete ripped out and new concrete poured

David came out the morning I called him to give me an estimate. He owns the company. He measured the concrete, gave me the price and I agreed to it on the spot. We had received other estimates that were higher and included removing and replacing the concrete in the carport, but David said it was not necessary. It only needed a small patch. He went home, checked his calendar, called me very promptly and said he could do it on Thursday (two days after the estimate was received). He told me he would carefully monitor the weather and if it was going to rain, they would start on Thursday, but finish on Friday. They arrived promptly on Thursday, removed the old concrete, hauled it away, set the forms for the new concrete (including improving the design of the driveway at no extra charge to us), added a small walkway from the driveway to the new concrete pad, and did it all for much less. They were prompt, efficient, neat, and very diligent. David was here for the process and had two helpers with him. They all did an amazing job. They stayed until it was done that day and came the next (when they said they would) to remove the forms. They left everything in fabulous order. Our neigbhors are talking about how nice the driveway looks. I am pleased because they took the time to get up the roots that caused damage to the original driveway. I would highly recommend Ace and have already told several friends about Ace Concrete. The embrace integrity and fairness. We paid no money until the concrete was poured. THen we paid the concrete company for the concrete and Ace didn't want to be paid until the work was finished. We had a fabulous experience and I would use this company for any concrete need.

David came out and gave us estimates to do the patio and concrete portion of the driveway. We had a grade problem behind our house with an existing flagstone patio. We decided to use the flagstone in another part of the yard so we removed it and cleared the area for the new installation. David and his assistant were always on time, very hard working, professional, and easy to get along with. Our very long driveway is gravel except for the garage pad. David ripped up the old pad and poured a much thicker and better graded new pad. We are very pleased with the results.

Our 20 plus year old driveway had cracks and the concrete was wearing thin in some areas. We had plumbing work done that required a 6x8 foot section of the driveway to be dug up. While the plumbers were preparing to do the digging, I called David and he immediately came over to provide a written estimate. He was very accomodating and provided me with estimates for all the options I wanted to consider (patching the hole left from the plumbing work, or replacing only sections of the driveway, or replacing the entire driveway). Because we found his estimate to be very competitive, we decided this would be a perfect opportunity to replace the entire worn down, ugly driveway. We also had David look at the cracked patio slab and he suggested a solution that was less expensive than total replacement for the patio. David told us exactly when he would be free to do the work and called back to confirm. Due to weather conditions, the work had to be postponed once but on the very next opportunity he was on the job early doing all the demolition work himslef with one assistant. They worked all day to break and remove the old cement from the driveway and set up the concrete forms. The next day he was back at our house brght and early with two assistants waiting for the concrete to arrive. As soon as the concrete truck was here they worked non-stop all day to lay the patio and the new driveway. Once they were done they cleaned everything up and David personally spet the time with me to give me instructinos what to do and what to expect as the concrete cured. Now I have a beautiful driveway and patio with proper drainage away from the house. My husband and I swear David even straightened out the layout of the driveway a little (the old layout had a slight bend that was not very attractive or functional).

David came to the house to give the estimate at the end of the day when we first contacted him. He was polite and professional, even explaining that a couple of areas that were cracked needed only to be caucked, not replaced. When the job was underway, David followed the schedule that he had described to us and took great pains to make the surface texture and window frame look like the original driveway. He used a heavy plastic sheet under the concrete delivery truck to keep any spills off the driveway and he used a Bobcat to carry the concrete to the repair areas. He said he didn't want the concrete truck to travel along the driveway because of its weight. When the job was complete, the driveway was swept in proximity to the repairs and then after we approved of the job, we wrote David a check. He even reminded us to take our 10% senior citizen discount. Would we use Ace Concrete again? Absolutely!

We had three concrete objects in the back of our house to remove: * Concrete slab (approximately 10'x18') * Concrete sidewalk (approximately 18' long) * 4 reinforced concrete septic tank caps (approximately 3'x5') Ace Concrete was very punctual and was very courteous. The work was performed in a quick and professional manner. Mr. Stallings was careful to minimize the impact on the yard and went above and beyond the call of duty to clean up afterwards. He even had great advice to share on a number of other projects that we are working on or are contemplating. I would definitely use Ace Concrete again and would recommend them to anyone.

David did a great job. I haven't been as satisfied with a contractor's work as much as I am with David's work in a long time. He was prompt, responsive, neat overall and took pride in his work. He did a great job and the sidewalk looks very good. We have had a variety of compliments on the walkway since he repaired and poured a new one for us. We would recommend his work to anyone.

Mr. Stallings was a very very good service provider to work with. His attributes are attention to detail; prompt, on time delivery of service and product; great communication; and competitive pricing. This job was completed on time, on budget and with very good consulting along the way. My input and change requests were clearly discussed and agreed upon on the fly. Specific change inputs were around flare placements, and design modifications for the walk. My recommendation is to give ACE Concrete a call and ask them to bid on your job.

David came out the afternoon before the job was scheduled to begin to start tear-out. He explained that the concrete saw made lots of noise, so he didn't want to disturbe the neighbors with an early morning start. The morning was spent tearing out the old concrete and hauling it off. It took a long time to get that done, with the explanation given that construction on the roads to the county dump prevented him from getting back and forth. After lunch, his helper came out to assist with the pouring and finishing. It took two loads from one concrete truck, which seemed a little inefficient. The concrete company was paid directly by me with the balance of the estimate going to Ace Concrete. This was a little surprising, and while it didn't affect my total bill, I would suggest that this fact be disclosed up front. The job went well into the night with just the two men and was completed about 10:30 that night, which was longer than I had expected. Our old driveway had a low spot in it and that was fixed and leveled, so I would give him an A for that. The next morning I discovered that one area of the driveway had been missed in brooming it. Since there is nothing you can do about those things after the concrete has set up and it is not a major blight on the driveway, I left him at an A for quality, but would suggest that enough time be scheduled to allow for delays in outside factors. My neighbors have commented that the driveway looks good, so overall, we are pleased with the final result.

I was very pleased with the work that was done. They came when they said they would and kept me informed every step of the way. They even patched an area of my driveway that was damaged. I am very pleased with the work that was done (a lot!) and will definitely use them again.

David was very promt when I intially called for information and a quote. He came out the same day to provide the information and explained the options that I had for my driveway. Once I confirmed the job he scheduled me in and came when he said he would. The work took 2 full days to complete. My driveway and walk are beautiful now. He was very careful when walking in and around my landscaping. No plants were damaged in the process. Great job!

David responded promptly to our request for an estimate and provided a start date for the work. He showed up when promised and worked long and hard each day. He tore out the existing concrete driveway and removed all materials from the premises. David worked alone for the first two days and put in a lot of hours. The finished work looks great. We recommended him to our neighbor, who used him to replace a part of their driveway. We will also recommend him to other friends and would use him again, if needed.

Called number listed - David, owner's cell phone. He came by and gave written estimate on the same evening. We accepted estimate at that time as we were aware based on other reviews, approx. cost to expect. He told us it would be about a week before he could schedule us and that would depend on weather. He called almost exactly a week later and scheduled for 2 days later. He arrived on time as scheduled. Kept us informed of the process and how it would proceed. The majority of the excavation work was done by David and one assistant with a Bobcat, he had additional help arrive just before the pouring of the new concrete. David and his workers were efficient and neat. They started working around 10am and worked until about 7:30pm. David returned the next day to remove the wood framing and to saw cut joints.

Fantastic experience start to finish. He came out in advance (very punctual), we discussed what needed to be done and he gave me an estimate (very reasonable) on the spot. The day before he came out to do the work, I threw him a curve ball and asked if we could do a second section, to expand the driveway further to accommodate three-point shooting for our "basketball court" (driveway). He was very flexible and changed the dimensions on the fly, and helped design it so the hoop was perfectly centered in the new space. The additional cost was very reasonable - he told me how much it was going to be (an extra $300) and broke out how much was the extra concrete and what was his labor cost. Even with the additional work required, everything was done in one day, the workers were very nice and got the job done of the highest quality! They even came back the next day to check and make sure everything was OK, and sprayed with water to help the cure process. These guys are great and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
