Ace Concrete

I called David because of the great reviews he'd gotten on Angie's List. I couldn't be happier with the job he and his crew did. He is very knowledgeable, not only about concrete, but about how his part of the project will interact with other aspects, like plumbing and framing. I'm happy to know someone I can recommend without hesitation.

I found David Stallings Ace Concrete on Angies list, liked the reviews and called him. He actually answered the phone and came out within 24 hours to give me an estimate for the job. I found him punctual, very knowlegable, meticulous and affordable. He has a small business and is and quot;on the joband quot; himself with one assistant. He stays on the job until the work is done. I will definitely hire him for the job, probably in the fall when there will be less vulnerability for my landscaping.

I called Ace Concrete to get a quote for pouring a new driveway. Spoke with David and explained what I needed. He came out the same day and gave me a quote. He thoroughly explained step by step what he would need to do, the time it would take, how payment would be made. He also suggested that I get quotes from other contractors in order to compare prices. I did just that and hired him to do the job because he gave me the best price. When the project was scheduled he was prompt and on time. Everything went as planned and I am now enjoying my new drive way.

David came soon after I call to discuss the process and provide a price quote. Was able to schedule the work within a week or two of his visit. He did most all the work himself until a helper came to assist with the pouring of the concrete. They did a very nice job, I'm pleased.

The area to be paved presented some challenges as it wasn't close to level and a bit of a slope. During the quote process David used a combination of spray paint and string to mark off the area that we were discussing and to illustrate the approximate height of the proposed work. We were very impressed at his thorough explanations as well as his thoughtfulness in providing information about his insurance coverage. We had some other quotes, but decided to go with David. [ His price was very fair and he seemed more knowledgeable] He was very flexible in working with our travel schedules to get the work completed. It was a 2 day process -- one to prepare the area that was to get concrete and one day to install the concrete. During the process itself, he took time to make sure that we understood the process and what was coming next. He did a great job and we would certainly use him again for concrete projects in the future.

They did a great job. They came out on a Sunday to work around our schedule and were very professional.

Ace did an outstanding job on our patio. David is a down to earth, hard working contractor who simply does what he says he is going to do. Our experience with residential contractors indicates that is a rare quality. He came out and gave us a prompt quote, was flexible in scheduling the job, did the work quickly and professionally and made every effort to protect our lawn in the process. He cleaned up after he was done and the quality of the pour was very good. Also, the cost was exactly as quoted, no surprises. We would definitely recommend Ace for your concrete job.

My driveway was old, but had recently become damaged in a landscaping project. I had called Ace Concrete to come out and take a look at it to see if it could be fixed, or if I had to do a complete replace. I called 2 other concrete contractors as well. I called David after church on a Sunday morning. I was really expecting to leave a message on the answering system. David answered and was able to come to my house in 20 minutes. He came out to look at the driveway and concluded what other contractors had said, that it was not repairable and I would need to replace it. He measured the driveway, and I added in the walkway. He gave me a written quote, on the spot. He was very professional. He took time to answer all of my concerns. He laid out a clear plan for me of what to expect, and what each day would hold. He also informed me of somethings we might run into as we get into the project. We didn't run into anything unexpected, but it was nice to know ahead of time, what they might be. Needless to say, he set my expectations, and left me feeling confident that he was the right person for the job. We scheduled it, and everything went as expected. David showed up right on time, when he said he would be here. He and his helpers worked the entire time they were here. David was onsite the entire time, both days. I was in and out of the house those days, and I felt comfortable leaving them to their job. At the end of the first day he touched base with me and again reset my expectations for the following day. Overall, it was a great experience. Replacing a driveway is not the most fun project, but what it has done for my homes curb appeal is amazing, and even my neighbors commented on how quickly and neatly it was done. David cleaned my street where the cement truck had tracked red mud. He was respectful of all my neighbors property and time. I'm delighted with the driveway! I am sure that it could of been the worst project ever, but David and ACE Concrete made it an easy task to face.

He had a good price and he had good quality. The concrete is in good shape. I had it thicker near the street, 4 inches with the rest and it was just good work. It is flushed with the street and there is nothing there that crumbles. I have seen other work that people have done where it joins the street and it is not a good transition. I only have cracks in the stress joints but there is no cracks anywhere else.

We needed a driveway extension and looked on Angie's List and found Ace Concrete (David Stallings). Liked all of his great A reviews. Called him and he came out within an hour to give us an estimate which we thought was very reasonable. David worked us in his busy schedule and we decided on a start date. He and his outstanding crew started promptly at 7:30 AM and did not stop until the job was done.It looks great and we are so happy! David and his crew were very professional, smart and kind! They did a great job on cleaning up the work area when they finished. We would highly recommend Ace Concrete to anyone!!! Job well done!

David and his crew were great and his price was very reasonable. We asked ACE Concrete for a medium sized patio of stamped/stained concrete. We chose a cobblestone design and it turned out beautifully. They were on time and worked continuously while they were there. There were other folks involved in the project; i.e, the gentleman who provided the concrete pump and the gentlemen who delivered the concrete. I need to get their names as we were very pleased with them as well. Overall, we are very satisfied with our beautiful new patio and would definitely hire David and his team again.

David and crew did what they said when they said they would do it. Very prompt with estimate which was reasonable. Work went smoothly with expertise and attention to detail obvious. I am very pleased with the completed work and would recommend David Stallings/Ace Concrete to everyone.

Fantastic. David and his crew came out within two days of me contacting him and finished the patio the same day. It looks amazing. He and his crew were very professional and the price couldn't be beat. My original driveway/sidewalk had drainage problems. I contacted David Stallings, he gave me great recommondations on how to solve. We finally agreed on a solution that ended up being much better than I could have imagined. David and his crew are very hard working men. Job was completed on time with no issues. I would recommend you give David a call for your project. I will use him again in the future.

No work performed since company was unwilling to travel to Gaston County.

This was probably the best experience I have ever had with a contractor (and I've been disappointed before). The work was performed on time and in a professional manner (and during one of the hottest weeks of the summer with temps over 100 degrees!). David Stallings is one of those rare individuals that is both personable and professional. He obviously knows his profession and explains the work needed in an understandable way. He also conveys care and concern for the individual job and client and takes obvious pride in a job well-done. Because I was out of town, he came by and sprayed down the concrete each day during the curing process. I felt I was in competent hands throughout the process and am extremely happy with the finished product.

The install team arrived on time. They were professional and polite. They under promised and over delivered. I had been struggling trying to remove / dig up a 15 year japanese maple that was in the way of the project. David and his crew used the bobcat to removed the tree. They even planted it in the back yard for me. No additional cost!!!. The drive way turned out great. They cleaned up before they left..Very nice job. Would highly reccomend. Good team work.

We couldn't be more pleased with the work done by Ace Concrete! David Stallings is hardworking, honest and does quality work at a reasonable price. He coordinated his work with another company that was installing a french drain around the foundation of our home. When we originally called David for an estimate he came promptly, gave us a fair price and additionally offered us a senior discount. After removing the old driveway and framing up the new one, we ran into a minor boundary dispute with our next door neighbor. This required David to secure additional wood framing materials and reschedule the delivery of the concrete. When the concrete truck finally arrived late in the day, there was not enough concrete to pour the whole driveway. David and his assistant worked hard smoothing the driveway and waited late into the night for the concrete truck to return with the second load. Instead, the company closed early and the truck never returned that day. David had to rearrange his schedule and return the next day to finish the job. David took all these unexpected frustrations in stride. Even though we offered to forgo the senior discount, David refused saying he had seen how badly some companies took advantage of older folks. How refreshing! We highly recommend Ace Concrete to others.

I am usually skeptical of most (all) contractors, but this guy is the real deal. He is a man that only has cares about three things: 1. Giving a fair price.2. Doing quality work.3. Getting the job done on time. This Anigies List thing works.

Got an estimate from Dave on Wednesday, June 6 and the work was done on Friday, June 8. Dave and his crew arrived on time and did a great, professional job from beginning to end. In addition to replacing the front walkway, Dave ran a drain under the concrete to correct a water drainage problem which probably contributed to the original problem with the walkway i.e. part of it collapsed. A first rate operation. Would use again.

Other companies weren't interested or charged minimum fees because of the small size of my job. David gave me a great price, and completed the work within a week of receiving the estimate. I would definitely use Ace Concrete again if a need arises.

David and Matt did an amazing job on both projects. They were more professional than the big companies and spent time with us to make sure that everything was done to ensure the best outcome. The patio came out better than we had hoped and at a better price than we had been quoted from other companies. They spent great attention to detail and worked to keep from damaging the surrounding areas. Actually put out tarps to keep from damaging grass. Wonderful to work with people who truly care about the job they are doing.

This was a very good experience. David and his crew showed up on time. They got right to work. The first visit they extended our backyard patio. Once the job was complete we decided it would be nice to have a sidewalk that went from our driveway to our back patio. David gave us an estimate, we submitted our plan to our HOA and David was back the next week pouring our sidewalk. We are very happy with both the patio extenstion and the sidewalk.
