SOUTHERN HEATING & AIR COND

My heater started blowing cold airMonday night. I called Southern Heating and Air Tuesday morning. A service technician came out and thought he had problem solved, and I signed service order. As he was leaving he heard unit go off and said I had a cracked gas valve, and in working on it he had broken a level or lever(not sure which) and that the gas valve would have to be ordered, After spending another very cold night I called and was told the part was in. About 11 am the same service tech returned. He replaced the gas valve and thought problem was fixed. Soon after he left, heater again was blowing cold air. Called Thursday morning and requested a different service technician. One was sent. He looked at heater and thought he had problem fixed. He never came in the house to check as the first service tech had been very conscientious about checking temp coming out of vents. A few minutes later, I noticed heater blowing cold air. I walked around to heater and he was not there.....I noticed the tech was still sitting in the truck in the yard. I told him it was doing the same thing. He came and looked and said let me think about this. About 10 minutes later I went out and he was gone. I called office and was told he had reported problem fixed. I said it is not and he knew that......he never came in to even tell me he was leaving. I knew the temperature again that night was expected to be 28 degrees. I called to check and found out the office had closed for Holiday until Monday, DEC 27. I had told the office dispatcher I have a 485.00 bill and my heater is in same condition it was in Tuesday morning. about 2:30 the original tech called and offered to come out, but I knew he had not been able to fix it after two visits, so I declined. The tech who came out Thursday knowingly told him it was fixed and office manager knew it was not and did nothing about it. Both Thursday and Friday nights very cold in this house. I would like to speak to owner of Southern Heating and Air as this was no way to treat a customer. I will call office Monday morning and leave my name and number. Responsiveness and Professionalism grade refers to office manager and tech who came to my house on Thursday. The tech who came out Tuesday and Wednesday very professional, but I felt I needed someone with more experience working on my type of unit. I checked I would not hire again, but I believe they need to resolve my current problem.

I have attempted to contact Southern Heating and Air 5 separate times. A technician came to my home at 2pm to repair our furnace as it was blowing cold air, the furnace was working when the technician left but within an hour began blowing cold air again. I contacted Southern Heating and Air and was told that a technician would reach out to me shortly with an estimated time of arrival. It is currently 8pm and I have been attempting to contact a technician since 3:30pm. At 5pm I began speaking with their after hours answering service who sent 5 separate messages to contact me and classified the message as urgent. I was contacted by one individual at 6pm and was told that he had spoken with the technician at 5:50 and that he was on the way to our home. He gave me the technician’s number and told me to reach out to him for an estimated arrival time and that if he did not respond to reach back out and that he would contact him for me. I attempted to call the technician as well as the individual that called me 6 times over the course of 2.5 hours to no avail. It is the coldest night of the year so far with the low projected at 23 degrees and I am currently without heat.

I will not use this company. Even if they were cheaper, I would rather use a reliable company and pay more than go with an unreliable company. First impressions are everything and this one was a bad first impression.

Punctual and courteous technicians.

Never got contacted regarding the details or pricing after the initial consultation. Very poor followup, and quite frankly a little unprofessional. If this is the way they are treating new and prospective customers, I cannot imagine, how they would treat someone who has issues w/ installation? Yikes! I say run away from a company like this!

The a/c quit working overnight. It was 82 degrees in the house when I got up. The a/c fan was running but was blowing hot air. I did what troubleshooting I knew but this was above my knowledge. Technician came within the time frame promised. It was 89 degrees inside when he got there. Told me a couple of the possibilities and then began troubleshooting. in less than 5 minutes he had isolated the problem. He showed me the bad part, a compacitor and proceeded to replace it. After replacing it he powered on the a/c and the compressor turned on. He then began cleaning the outside coils after which he he took another panel off and cleaned the filter inside the unit. He then connected his gauges to check the gas level inside the unit, and to check how quickly the unit was cooling the inside. After his testing everything looked ok. He gave me a price and I was actually expecting it to be twice that much. So I was very pleased!

They are very good and the price was fair. I will use them again in the future.

It went great. technician arrived, intorcued himself and credentials. I explained what the issue was, he then proceded to come inside and test the temperature of the system, and also check the wall thermostat for any issues. We then moved outside and opened the unit and he tested the part that was blown. He replaced the part and tested the system once again. He stayed around a while to make sure that it was working well.

They did a good job. The experience was excellent. I've had a relationship with them for years. They are the best in town. Their prices are good.
