Went great! Unfortunately, I'm late with this review (just forgot to do it) as the work was done more than a year ago. Anyway, honestly, we could not have expected a better experience. Professional, courteous, hard-working, and experts at what they do. We remain well-pleased and proud to show the work! Would hire again!
Description of Work: Build framing and slide-out drawers for attic storage. Also built lighted, cedar-lined closet for off-season clothing storage. Included some electrical wiring in the closet and to nearby attic lighting.

We have used Kane in the past; we bought a new house and needed some renovations completed. Kane took out several interior walls/installed support beams, installed French doors, created a much more open floor plan for us, and sheetrocked garage. It was a big job, lasting approx 2 weeks. He promptly started at 7:30 each AM and his crew worked hard each and every day. He is very laid back, calm and efficient. He worked with us on our timeline, which we very much appreciated. We love Kane. Will use him every chance we get. Thx, Kane!
Description of Work: Needed a few walls knocked down, support beam installed, French door installed, etc,

Fantastic! I'm not considering any other contractors on the upcoming work that I need done (Kitchen and Master Bath). His crew had a great attention to detail and helped me a lot by making sensible solutions that would make the bathroom more functional. Kane and his crew are also very patient. They were so efficient getting the bathroom complete that, when I had trouble getting a bathroom vanity top that fit well, they ended up making a couple trips out to the house to help figure out how to get the sink top to fit on the cabinet. Even though the fault was mine as I had not been able to supply the right size vanity top on the first time, Kane was patient when working with me and he did not have any incremental charges for the multiple trips out. I was traveling when he got the vanity top to fit and, when I returned home that Friday night from a week of business travel, I was surprised to find that he had been there to finish it. He knew that I had been frustrated by the ordeal (as it took a month to get the top to fit) and he had worked it out so I would be surprised when I came back to the finished bathroom. What a nice touch! Another thing that I really appreciate about Kane and his crew is that I felt very comfortable having them in my home when I was not in town. It was very clear from the first time they showed up that they were very much invested in getting the work done as effeciently as possible - and in doing the work correctly. While Kane was managing multiple jobs, I felt that he and his supervisor on-site were all over the details and stayed in regular communication with me so that I understood the progress and what was coming next. As I said above, I'm not considering any other contractors as I am now planning additional work on the house. Kane and his crew are very busy - and I think there is about a 6 month lead time until they're available (which shows the extent of the demand for their services) but I think it's well worth the wait.
Description of Work: Kane and his crew renovated my guest bathroom. I provided most of the materials and he quoted the labor and some other materials for the tile work. He ripped out my old bathroom - to the studs - and built out the new bathroom. This included tile work, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and resurfacing an old bathtub.

Kane Tomberlin and his crew were brought introduced to me by Island Creek Landscaping to build a pergola to go on a patio. I was simultaneously demanding in what I wanted and some aspects of how I wanted it built and at the same time uncertain of the details of what I wanted in the finished product and somewhat ignorant of how things needed to be built for stability. Kane was able to work with me and steer me through the process to get a great looking and very sturdy pergola. Kane's crew got things done quickly and skillfully. When the pergola was nearly complete I concluded I wanted a look with more decoration. Kane graciously accommodated me by giving the pergola angle braces with swoops cut into them and boxing in the bottom of the posts to give them a more formal column appearance all without additional charges. I'm very pleased with the end result.
Description of Work: Built a 9x11 pergola with a clear polycarbonate roof, ceiling fan, and two electrical outlets.

It went perfectly. Everything was done in approximately 4-5 wks. He built a 15x20 screened in porch, with a gable roof and a beautiful tongue and groove cedar ceiling. He contracted out the electrician, and someone to install new gutters. Kane and his team were prompt every morning (by 8am sharp), and worked consistently until 7-8pm each day they were here. He returned my phone calls and texts promptly whenever we had questions or concerns. He was polite and humble, and we felt like his price was reasonable. He was an excellent communicator, in that if he couldn't come one day, he'd contact me. Or if rain impeded his work, he'd contact me. His workmanship is exquisite. Both my husband and I are extremely picky about home renovations, and we were both impressed with his quality of construction, attention to detail, workmanship, professionalism, and painting. The final product was more than what we could have hoped for. We trusted him implicitly. I will also add that prior to us selecting him for the job, he came to our house on several occasions to show us samples of the cedar ceiling, the posts, the screen, the railings, etc. He lives at least 45min away, and we just really appreciated him being so accommodating. I would recommend him to anyone needing home renovations or additions in any capacity. He is EXCELLENT. You won't be sorry!
Description of Work: Kane actually builds custom homes, but we hired Kane to install a screened in porch to accompany a backyard hardscape project we had done by another contractor. I received several estimates and advice from 3 other people. Kane was the ONLY one who seemed confident enough to tackle the project. The design was somewhat set in stone, in that a certain angle of the porch could not be changed due to the parking situation in our driveway. The other contractors couldn't figure out how to run the roofline, and said it would be "impossible" and unsightly to do." Kane didn't understand what the problem was, and he told us that he could do it without any problems. And HE DID.. It looks beautiful. Kane helped us to design an attractive pitch, roofline, and an exterior that blended with our existing house and patio hardscape. .

The new deck looks amazing. Kane Tomberlin came on the last day of our patio construction and built new steps as well as fixing the railings on the deck. He completed it in a day and he timed it to finish when the patio was complete.
Description of Work: Modified our deck to reach the new patio.

Everything went better than planned. We modified the design over time and Kane flexed with me on the design and made some nice contributions on what was possible and options that we could do.
Description of Work: Kane built me a pergola that is 30 feet by 12 feet held up by 8x8 posts with 8x8 beams around the outside. Kane Tomberlin put in the pergola and we would talk quite a bit on what was necessary for engineering (Kane has an engineering degree) as well as what would look good. The pergola came out amazing. The rafters Kane installed followed the curve of the patio below it (but 2 feet beyond it). When there were some that were too close together, so that they did not look curved enough, Kane took them out and redid them so that the curve looks perfect. In addition, the slats on top of the rafters had to be installed in a way that looks right on the portions that are curved. Each slat was rounded along the sides and the ends so that the look that resulted from this detail made the slats look high-end.
