Amazingly, as other reviewers have stated, there was no charge for the inspection and recommendations shared to remedy issues he did see. There was really no mold problem which was a big relief. Chris was so very professional, and I would definitely call him for services in the future. Gold star for Chris! It is so refreshing to see a provider who is reliable, honest and cares about giving excellent customer service.

First comment is I am new to Angie's List. I am posting this for two reasons?(1) is to state that I had NO IDEA how to find someone willing to consult me on a potential mold problem in my son's bathroom shower area. As parents, you are concerned and strive to be "better safe than sorry" when it comes to addressing issues. I joined Anglie's List and within less than 5 minutes I found PuroClean's excellent recommendations in my area. The comments regarding Chris and his professionalism were reassuring as I was reading them on a Sunday evening. I found the phone number and thought to call and leave a voice mail message show someone could call me back the next day on a Monday. I called at approximately 8:30 PM on Sunday?and was pleasantly surprised when I got in touch with Chris. He spent around 10 minutes talking to me about mold in general and his industry as well. The differences between remediation and testing and what I should think about as I was beginning to understand this potential situation. During our discussion, I could tell I wanted this professional to come review what situation I had in my bathroom. I asked how soon he could get out to my home?and we scheduled for the NEXT DAY. Chris obviously was willing to juggle his schedule and was aware of what he had to do in my area and capitalized on the situation to make another customer happy?me. We set a time and exchanged numbers to ensure all was well. The next day he followed up earlier to our meeting time (by 30 mins or so) and he was at my house. The first thing I noticed was a professional looking van. Clean vehicle?easy to see what his speciality was. He got out of his van and met me with a smile?and a business card. He introduced his working partner and made his way to my front door. I opened the door and turned around to see both putting "booties" on their shoes. He had tools in hand (both a flashlight and a meter to detect moisture levels). We went upstairs to the bathroom and within a few minutes had reviewed visually and tested with the moisture meter. "Yes, it's wet?your missing a bead of caulk here?here's what I would do?etc, etc?" Ultimately, I have (2) young sons who like to take long warm showers :)? and Chris helped identify a fix for my bathroom that I could do myself. Removal of a small section of sheetrock, cleaning with PineSol, adding a bead of caulk? As we wrapped up the evaluation, I asked Chris how much I owed him. "he said nothing?you don't owe me anything" I asked again, as a professional consultation has value in my opinion. He again reiterated?nothing. I have been pleasantly surprised with the value of finding Chris via Angie's List as well as seeing a professional in my home. I would recommend Chris and his organization whole heartedly and had we found damages needing professional remediation would have contracted him for those services.

First of all, let me say that I am not someone who usually posts a review, but this one I HAD to do out of shear appreciation!! We were so thrilled to have found PuroClean through Angies List! The owner, Chris Nowak was friendly, professional, informative and transparent about a moderate mold discovery in an area of our crawl space. He clearly explained the remediation steps needed, and even advised on ways to keep it from coming back (since it's basically a space subject to environmental factors). He also went over and above to accommodate our tight time frame and fit us in, even though he had a much larger job going on at the same time. The 'icing on the cake' was his quote...it was from 2x to 6x LOWER than the previous two we had gotten from other competitors! But again, it was not just the price that made our decision...it was simply the way Chris did business. We really felt like he had our best interests at heart. And although it was clear that he takes the business of mold remediation very seriously (as did we), we appreciated that he didn't try to use a lot of 'smoke and mirrors' to scare us into extensive, unnecessary procedures and costs...(which was refreshing after the two previous inspections and quotes). And the proof that his approach worked was the final result...the post-lab test that came back "clear"!! He knows what he's doing!! So the bottom line is, we felt like we didn't just hire a great contractor for a job, but we made a friend in the process. Thanks again Chris and PuroClean!! :-)

They showed me what to do to fix it.

People working for our contractor (doing a bathroom remodel) are trained, upon finding any mold, to stop before the mold issue t is examined, to minimize risk to them or to others in the household. Chris Inspected the area and found only superficial surface mold, typical for a home of this age (40+years) and in a bathroom that has been used without major changes during that period. No evidence of the very harmful types of mold. Chris noted that while mold is a concern, asbestos could also be an issue -- for though the house was built AFTER asbestos was banned, some contractors had stocks of materials they continued to use. Mr. Nowak gave us names of firms that COULD inspect for asbestos should our contractor want to do that. This firm seems intent upon doing the right thing for his customers and potential customers. He excellent rating on Angie's list seems well deserved. Should we have a mold or other "restoration" issues in the future, we will certainly use this firm, and not hesitate to refer him to family and friends. Chris Nowak appears to be a very professional and knowledgeable individual, and has a very pleasant way of dealing with customers/potential customers. I wanted to pay him for his time and effort, but he refused payment -- a pleasant and unusual experience for a homeowner.

Arrived on time, inspected the areas with mold, identified the problem and told exactly what he recommended for treatment and removal of mold. Answered all questions and provided advice on further work to be done. Also found additional issue when sheet rock was removed that showed our tub was not fully supported. The mold was removed by removing sheet rock, carpet, and wood trim. Anti-microbial was applied and HEPA vacuumed to clean up. Negative pressure ventilation was achieved through our bathroom fan (it was an easy way to do this since the walls were opened thru to the bathroom). He recommended we have a plumber check the toilet since the water that supported the mold growth appeared to be from a leak there. His job was the mold remediation only. We had a plumber fix the leak (a broken flange) and will have a handyman replace the sheet rock, trim and floor and get that tub supported.

Chris came out to help us figure out a mold problem we were having. He offered his professional knowledge on what our problem was. He nor puroclean portray selling. He was curtious and polite. He offered assistance and informed us that a general contractor could be more assistance. Letting us know that he could do what we needed he was very honest. I will use puroclean in the future if needed.

Chris was very nice right from the first phone call. He was backed up so he explained he would not be able to come for a few days but when he was available he was there on time and quickly discovered the problem and gave me some tips on how to possible take care the problem ourselves. I will definitely hire him in the future if need be and recommend him to anyone who needs his services.

Decided to go a different direction but Chris was very quick with a response and estimate and I appreciate that, very professional.

Called Chris to get advice about bathroom mold problem. He immediately recommended some things we could do ourselves to assist with the the problem. He also told us of the EPA standards reflected in the area we needed treating. Although he said that we was experiencing a good deal of work, he was very courteous about scheduling inspection in the future. Told us of free information on his website to assist us as well. Great service and super professional. Would HIGHLY recommend him!

I called Chris on 12/6 to ask him to come and look at my mold issue. I'd changed my bath tub pipes a few months back, and in the process let some water leak down in the area between my bathroom wall and hall way closet wall. In doing this, I gave the mold a chance to start growing. He said he would be by on Tuesday the 11th, and that he would call me Monday the 10th to confirm a specific time. As expected he called Monday, gave me a time, and then showed up exactly when he said he would on Tuesday the 11th. Once inside Chris was again very informative and professional. As somone with a year old baby, I was VERY concerned about having any kind of mold in the house, and was completely expecting the worst, and probably ready to pay whatever he said I needed to pay to make it go away. In the end, Chris made me understand that my issue was really very minor, and that while he would be glad to come back in and do further work on the problem, he felt this was something I could probably handle myself if I wanted. Unlike the car mechanic who tells you everything is wrong and then charges you a bunch of money for things you really don't need, which I'm sure Chris could have easily done, he told the deal, how to handle it, and for that I was very thankful. He simply eliminated my couple of spots with mold by spraying them with a Thyme laced spray, told me to wait 10 minutes and then wipe it off with soap and water, and it should be gone for good because there was no moisture in the area anymore. He was also nice enough to test the air quality in my house in various rooms, and then made several suggestions as to how I could improve that quality.When he was done, I asked him what I owed him, and he said "you do not owe me anything". I was expecting to at least pay him $100 (and was prepared to spend several hundred dollars) for just coming out and spending nearly an hour working with me, but he said that I did not need to worry about paying him anything unless further service was required. I can say without any hesitation that if I EVER needed anymore work done on my house with mold (as in if it ever comes back), that I would call Chris @ Puro-Clean without even considering anyone else!

No complaints with the process from start to finish. Chris called back within an hour of being emailed, and booked an appointment to come inspect the property. Was very conversational and helped explained the issues we had in detail and how he would correct. When the work began, he maintained frequent communication on their progress and was very quick to point out any previously unforseen issues. Work was done quickly, efficiently, and most importantly, cleanly...when they were complete, there was no evidence that they had been there, other than the completed work. Chris has follow up a couple of times since the completion of the work to be sure that we are satisfied. Two other parties (a waterproofing firm and a general contractor) have seen the work and commented positively on its thoroughness and quality. The experience really could not have been any better.

Chris was incredibly professional and nice. The whole process was easy, from prompt scheduling to his evaluation of our home. He took the time to go throughout our home and assess potential problem areas, giving areas a thorough assessment as well as taking the time to explain everything in detail. In places where work was recommended, he gave us great options from DIY to professional - never being pushy about his services or overly dramatic. I would definitely hire Chris again and recommend his work.

Puro Clean immediate contacted me to evaluate water damage fron a toilet tank. He arrived @ the appt time, and informed me what was needed to fix the problem. After investigating Puro Clean by other sources, Chris came highly recommended by my Insurance Company for Quality work with no unsatisified customers. Mr Norwak immediately started work to remove water from the flooded family room, hall,bedroom, and bathroom with laundry room. Due to his fast actions in drying and clean up, vastly limited damages to this recently renovated part of the home.Mr. Chris Norwak of Puro Clean was extremely proffesional, punctual, and compassionate to move other appt to accomadate my schedule of a funeral for my father. Wish a lot more contractors would have this kind work Ethics, I would highly reccomend this Company as a very honest and trustworthy to my family and friends.
