OK, you want all the details... Site measurements were taken by Mr. Sink on April 29 and a proposal submitted May 6 and accepted May 8; I requested only one modification and agreed to pay any difference between the 2x4 inch perimeter fence quoted and the 2x2 inch wire we needed for our dogs. I also specified secure gates that would hold up to use and weather. The finished fence was delivered by a subcontractor 16 weeks later on August 23. For this reason I checked and quot;N/Aand quot; for quality. Our fence was actually constructed by another fencing company, without prior communication or permission. They were performed under contract with the provider, so I checked and quot;Yes,and quot; the services were performed by the provider even though the build was not done by that company's work crew. I accepted Mr. Sink's proposal after waiting all winter for another contractor to get around to this small containment fence at our lake house. When I asked how far out he was working (referring to his schedule backlog) Mr. Sink told me about two weeks. I told him we just needed the fence before summer vacation. After several weeks without hearing when the job would start I began making regular calls to Mr. Sink, who would make and break successive promises. Each time it would be a different excuse. June passed into July, which passed into August. Our vacation time when we needed the fence came and went, and when I called at the end of July to inquire about his intentions Mr. sink offered me $100 to void the contract and find another service. By that point we had been put off for nearly 3 months by a contractor who had represented working with only a two-week backlog. I told Mr. Sink I would hold him to our contract and asked for a firm date for completion. As usual he said he would have to call me back. When I received the call I was told the posts would be in by August 2 and the fence would be completed the following week. I checked the property on August 3 and found the posts were installed as promised. I checked again on August 10 to confirm completion and found another fence company's truck on site with materials but no further progress. On speaking with the contractor I learned he had agreed to and quot;help [Mr. Sink] outand quot; by working the job around his own commitments. He had sunk the posts a week prior, but had only been contacted by Mr. Sink on August 9 about doing the remaining work. He cut the posts and installed the wire, but made no progress that day on the rails nor gates. On August 16 I received a call from Mr. Sink, asking if I would consider a couple hundred dollars off the contract price and build the gates myself. I declined to do work he had committed to in the project scope, and pressed him for a completion date as agreed over four months earlier. He promised to finish the work by August 23. My wife and I visited the property on August 24 and the fence was completed including gates. The work was confirmed completed by the subcontractor and the gates were built by a second subcontractor. (Still not the quality agreed by Mr. Sink, braced with screwed joints, but adequate to call the job complete.) When Mr. Sink submitted the bill he included a $140 up-charge for the kennel wire, which I challenged and got his agreement on a reduction to $60, but he continued to maintain he used a higher grade of fence wire which he had not. (I had taken pictures of the wire rolls on August 10 during our inspection, so I knew exactly what grade he used.) Too much detail here? Certainly; but As an engineer and a project manager I can tell you, this is no way to run even a small project like this one. Yes, the summer was very wet; I can also accept some schedule delay for equipment out of service. What I do not accept going from a two-week backlog in April to fourteen weeks between acceptance of proposal and delivery of the finished job...after having to do too much chasing down.

They were recommended to me by another person in our company; I didn't know them. They came and looked at this job. They were very nice and did an excellent job. When I went home, these guys were washing the fence and washing the yard. They actually washed the grass. They did exactly the way I wanted it. It really looks good. They completed the job ahead of the schedule. The price was very reasonable. I checked it in several different places for pricing and they beat everybody.
Description of Work: I used Sink Fence to put up a black metal-coated fence.
