 + -1 moreRick was very helpful and educating us on a few options when our pool vacuum pump needed replaced. After making our decision, the repair was scheduled and complete as discussed. Rick followed up to ensure everything was working properly. When we reported a small leak in the hose fitting, it was taken care of the next day. Rick is very knowledgable and trustworthy. We were extremely happy with the job as well as the customer service. We would highly recommend this company both for new pools, pools services and repairs.

 + 0 moreEverything went well. A water testing kit was provided along with chemicals and salt to get the pool open. He gave us pointers on how to prep the pool for the new liner to make the install move quicker. Would hire again. Thanks

 + -1 moreTerrible but even with my review I'm sure there are families that will still use this company for a pool install.
Description of Work: Called for a consult about a pool installation. Rick showed up as scheduled with an assistant as well as an arm full of material to go over details of the pending project. I personally had a budget of up too 100k. He took one look at my back yard and since this wasn't going to be a quick money making install and would involve retaining walls and probably extra crews as well as extra time he informed me that he would not even quote me a price or discuss details.He was not interested in doing our pool. The visit lasted less than 5-min and they were gone. I didn't realize that the pool industry was so busy to be able to pick and choose the jobs they accept. If the distance to my home was a problem and out of their travel zone they should have let me know we were out of their service area. It was a waste of my day off waiting for him to arrive to discuss details. Their web site seemed informative and they seemed to be a reputable company but it was very unprofessional to dump our request since it wasn't going to be a quick cash project for him. He also mentioned that installation on other projects had him backed up till August for start dates yet this wasn't a concern of mine. I would have been extremely flexible. I wish in my profession I had the luxury to deny someone my services because it would involve a little extra work to satisfy the customer. Seems to me they are only worried about how quick they will get to the bank with your check.

He did not suggest us what he felt we needed but rather what he felt would be used by our family and fit our budget. We changed a few items and Rick would let us know immediately if and how much it would affect our budget. Anytime we had a question or concern, Rick would answer immediately, and come out to see for himself if we needed him. We LOVE our pool and I would highly recommend Rick!

We met with and interviewed several pool builders and made the decision to go with Rick Montgomery and his crew from Magic Pools and Spas. It was one of the best decisions we could have ever made. Rick, Jarret, Wesley and the rest of the team are knowledgeable, fair and worked closely with us every step of the way from start to finish. His prices are competitive with other builders, but we received so much more with our pool package than "the other guy" had to offer. Rick and his crew went above and beyond our expectations making sure everything was just right and to our satisfaction.  + -1 moreIn my opinion Magic Pools and Spas is simply the best pool company in North Carolina. The service is always very prompt (which was outstanding since I lived in Concord NC at the time and Magic Pools is located in Salisbury NC, which is about a 45 minute drive). Rick Montgomery (the owner) came out and was extremely friendly (as he always is) He diagnosed the problem and replaced my salt generator in no time. He even worked out a partial warranty even though my unit was technically out of warranty

Even 3 years later, Rick returns my calls within an hour or two of leaving a message. I've never had an issue that Rick hasn't resolved in less than 24 hours. He has the up most integrity and his customer service is phenomenal. He was the highest quote that we received but it was well worth it. His quality and customer service make the additional money we paid a great investment. I rank Magic Pools as the most enjoyable and well run company that I've ever contracted.

Rick took time on a Saturday morning to show us several pools his company had recently completed. Pool installation was excellent and trouble free. Rick uses quality contractors from start to finish. He provides excellent service after the project is completed, and answers any questions you may have in a timely manner.
