+ -1 moreI had contacted to get an estimate. He was Extremely Misleading in our conversations. He STATED $35 an hour. I described the jobs clearly. He said he had a man that worked with him and it would be a half day to a day job. He stated that he didn't charge by the job because he never knew how many hours. That dollar amount implied he and the assistant would finish the job in less than a day for less than $250. I listen very well and my memory AND math are very good. When he arrived, he said it would be $1400 to do the job which consisted of replacing 1 metal sheet off a shed roof and attaching the cap across the top and repairing 1 leak on the overhang roof that covers our laundry room. Not big jobs. This job charge went against what he just told me about not doing just that. When I questioned this he said that the $35 was not including his assistant (which was implied included) and tried to sidestep no other things. Not good business so of course we did not hire him. His loss.
