our garage looks great! Over all I am pleased with the work Mike did on our home. Mike is a genuine, honest, hard-working guy and a pleasure to have around. The only issue we had was the job went on way past dead line.

This job seemed to be too much for Mike to take on. Things started off fine, but then there were issues with him not having time due to other projects. He ordered the wrong materials for my project, causing delays. He had issues with his helpers showing up consistently on time, and would complain about them to me. He eventually outsourced much of the work, to what I later learned were random people he found off of craigslist. I eventually discovered shortcuts that were taken when the fascia fell off of the addition. He eventually came out and reattached the fascia and made promises to get the rest of it fixed. He lied. The company he said he scheduled to come out and finish the repairs stated he never scheduled anything. Neely stopped returning my calls.

I hit the the jackpot when I found Neely Custom Builders!!! They are real craftsmen and very detailed to the last spot of paint! The estimates and final costs were realistic and they found solutions to help me stay on budget! A pleasure to work with and knew what I wanted! Plus they offered great advice and suggestions when I was challenged with decisions! I highly recommend Neely Custom Builders for any custom building/remodeling and will definitely use again in the future!!!

They did a very good job. It was really good, the gentlemen got here when he scheduled. He was knowledgeable with what he's doing. Everything worked well. I would recommend them.

They were a sub contractor and they used Apex cabinets for the installation. Neely Custom Builders were okay but not great. They were timely and professional. They forgot to bring one of the backsplash and scratched my wall when they installed it but other than that they did a good job.

Added on to a 90 year old home. Ran into numerous problems due to the age of my home but Mike and his crew were able to over come them, Mike and his crew went over and beyond what we expected. The finished product was also more that we expected. Great, considerate, crew. Mike and his crew are not just builders they are craftsmen.

I am very happy with the patio roof. They did a nice job building the roof and it looks wonderful. One thing had to be redone after the inspection and they took care of it, no problem. Their electrician who did wiring for the ceiling fans was great too. The whole process took way longer than I had hoped but I understand that a small job like mine had to be fit in around the big jobs. My only regret is not having them screen it in to begin with (we are saving our pennies to do that in the near future)

They we very responsive and willing to get on it. I just did not move forward with getting the work done. However, if I decide to do anything I will definitely give them a call...

I got some quotes from them. I got this one quote back around in November and one earlier this year. They are actually some pretty nice guys. They are actually in the neighborhood and somebody actually bid them for a job, but they never used them, but I have heard some good stuff about them. I got the first quote for master bath remodel, and the second quote was for a deck. If I did, I will go with them as they are close to home. They are really good and really approachable. I would recommend them, even I have not worked with them but I have heard a lot of people that have.

I like their quality of work. I would recommend them. I would use them again in the future.

Mike Neely was extremely prompt in his responses. We had another contractor who attempted to finish our basement, but, it turned out that this contractor was not licensed and had made numerous mistakes. Mike Neely came to our house on two occasions, and on the second visit he included his electrician and business partner. They gave excellent feedback, pointed out all the remediation work to be done to bring everything up to code, and I felt they were extremely knowledgeable. Their vision and attention to detail was exceptional. I was very excited about the prospect of working with them, but we're having to put our basement project on hold for the time being. I was very impressed with Mike Neely and would definitely call him again. I think anyone would do well to work with him.

Mike came out and gave an estimate. He was the only one who would come out. He was very kind. He explained the best way to fix the doors. He fixed the doors without replacing them. He was very accommodating to my needs. He was great to work with. Mike and his assistant were very respectful, very polite, and cleaned up after themselves.

They were very knowledgeable and very professional. I remember that they were reasonably priced but I don't remember what the price was. They haven't done the work yet. They were timely.

Due to Hurricane Irene we had water damage to 2 bedrooms; not flood damage. Initially, the insurance adjustor thought the water that came into the house came from either the windows not being sealed properly when the house was built (2007 - builder: Jimmy H. J. Morris - would NOT recommend), or from the holes in the siding after 3 1/2 shutters came off during the hurricane. Overall the entire process went great. Originally we thought certain repairs would be done, but after Mike tore out the walls and removed the insulation to the problem area, an even bigger issue was discovered as the cause of damage to both bedrooms - which happened to be a builder (house builder: Jimmy H. J. Morris) error. Mike was able to identify the original problem and fix it which was great. Upon mutual agreement, the repairs were adjusted in order to fix the problem. Less walls were torn out, part of the actual house frame was replaced due to rot and black mold, since apparently water had been getting into the house since it was built (4 years), but was not known until Hurricane Irene pushed an abundant amount of water through to soak the carpet in both bedrooms. Had it not been for the hurricane, we would never had known the frame was rotting in that one area and that black mold had developed. We are so thankful that Mike is an expert in building houses and that he was able to find the root cause and fix it. Mike, his nephew Patrick, their carpenter, and their drywall person is everyone that was involved in the repairs. They all did a wonderful job and I would use them again, and would highly recommend them as well.

I had called Mr. Neely about so work I needed on the out side of home. He did not call back for 2 days at that time he did come out so he could do a estimate on the repairs. He did not call back after 4 weeks to give me the estimate. I had tried to call his 3 time before he did call but by that time I had call someone other an was doing the work. There estimate was a litter higher but was very pleased with the work. I will not give there name because I do not know if they are on Angie's list.

Mike and Scott came by and evaluated what I was looking for and clearly know what they're doing. Mike provided an estimate and I was pleasantly surprised to find it in line with what I was looking for. Work proceeded as described. They demolished the existing roof, brought the garage into square and leveled the top of the walls to compensate for the out of level slab. The installed a floor system and framing for the room and roof. Throughout the project they discussed various options and were great at listening to my input as well as giving me additional considerations. They also arranged for other contractors to complete electrical work, roofing, siding, and gutters. Overall I'm very pleased with the finished result and would recommend Neely Custom builders to others.

Overall, Mike and Scott Neely did an outstanding job - Hire them and you will not be disappointed. I interviewed 5 contractors for this work. Mike and Scott were the only ones who listened to what we wanted and made excellent suggestions to make it better. The others all tried to push thier ideas and designs which really wasn't what we wanted. Their price was the lowest, while this shouldn't be the deciding factor, once I saw the quality of what they produced - I certainly got my money's worth. They handled it all from demolition, framing, insluation roofing and gutters. Mike, Scott and their crew were courteous, conscientious and highly concerned with the quality of their work. Our job took about six weeks to finish and they were there everyday, on-time, working full days in an attic in the summer - somedays I wondered how they did it - but always with a smile. The final product was a room that is bigger, more functional than we had hoped for in that attic space (from 100 s.f. to around 400 s.f.) - we are very pleased. Very easy to work with, followed through on all commitments, and all with a great sense of humor. If you hire them, and you really should, ask Mike about his days as an exhibition diver at Myrtle Beach - good stories. My only regret is that I don't have anything else they can build for me. It was an outstanding experience and I will hire them again.

It took a bit longer than anticipated and we had a few communication breakdowns on some aspects, however we were at fault as much as they might have been. Make sure to clearly document any special instructions/dimensions for them. If you just tell them, you may not get what you anticipated. Overall, they were extremely helpful with decisions, were on time, pretty good about letting us know where they were in the project and when they or their subs would be there and not be there. We would certainly use again.

Mike and Scott gave a competitive bid, after looking at some of their past work and references, I chose them to build my garage and deck. They came in at what was quoted in the contract. The work that was performed was above what I expected. They handled all the necessary permits and everything else that needed to be done. They kept me updated on progress. I am very pleased with the final product and would be very happy to talk to anyone that needed a reference. I will definitely use him for any father projects.

He fixed it. It's a very small job, but he did a very solid and competent job. I would use him again!

When we moved to Raleigh we bought the house we did with the idea of adding some significant improvements to fit our special likes. After checking out a few different contractors, large and small, we took the advice of a Realtors who praised the work of Mike Neely. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Mike and the extraordinary quality of his work. This man takes great pride in his work and it shows in everything he does. In 45 years of marriage living in several different homes we have never encountered anyone in whom we have more confidence and for whom we have higher regard than Mike Neely. Not only is he so good at his work, he is a nice person to work with. I had a couple of not so great ideas that he talked me out of and he does not hesitate to suggest solutions you might never think of on your own. The best indication of how pleased we are about having selected Mike Neely is that after we had done all that we had expected to do but then months later decided on another project we did not bother to inquiry of anyother but Mike. Neighbors and friends who have seen the work he has done at our home are lavish in their praise. I should add that we have also turned to Mike for a couple of small projects and he performs them with the same skill and pride of workmanship. People who took our recommendation to choose Mike for projects they needed done thank us profusely for making them aware of him. The bottom line is that you cannot find better quality and better value for your home remodeling dollar.
