Meticulous Painting & Drywall

Michael was honest with his assessment of the work that needed to be done to remove the wallpaper. The work we originally wanted done would not be cost-effective, so he provided an alternate solution that would stay within budget and would still look great and would not cause problems in the future.

He was very professional, prompt, and did a great job of removing wallpaper and cleaning up afterward.

As they started, it became a mess. They had to strip the wall paper, and paint over that. It took extra time.

Lee Withrow called and scheduled an appointment, then called back the next day and rescheduled for the weekend. I have a small bathroom. I had already stripped the wallpaper off but the glue still remained on the walls. He steamed and removed the glue and we agreed that he would paint the bathroom as well and settled on a price of $150 for the extra work. He was very late for the second appointment even though I had told him that I had to leave at a certain time. He painted for about 90 minutes and said the job was done. I made out the check for the extra work to his company's name "Meticulous Painting." Upon inspecting his work after he left I saw that he had painted only one coat and there were many spots where there was not full coverage, which happens when painting with a roller. The next day he called saying he was unable to cash the check to "Meticulous Painting" so could I write him a check made out to his name. I thought that was rather unusual since he's supposedly been in business for over 20 years but he said something about switching banks, so I agreed. During the conversation I told him that I was not happy with the painting because there were many spots not covered. He first sounded like he didn't believe me but after some discussion he agreed to schedule a time to paint the second coat. He was late arriving but did paint another coat. He brought the original check to me and wrote another one made out to him personally. He seems to be a very nice guy and does like to talk. We had some interesting conversations. I think that at the time he was taking on too much work for him to handle alone. Also, when he didn't arrive on time I had to call his cell and home numbers trying to get in touch to find out when to expect him to arrive at my house. He was not very professional in my opinion.

Prompt, professional, and courteous service

Painter kept rescheduling and complained the whole time he was here that the paint was not good. It was Vaspar eggshell like he told me to get. He had me buy a gallon of primer and then when he got here told me he didn't need to use it. He then proceeded to tell me after 2 coats of paint that the primer should have been used. He did 3 coats of paint but charged me a $100 extra for having to do 3 coats. I felt like I was being taken advantage of and that he really did not want to be here doing the job. I paid $99 for one room painted which was Angie's list special.

Meticulous Painting and Drywall were prompt. By the time we bought the Big Deal until the time he came out was short, less than a month.

See what I already wrote. This company is not professional. They didn't want to do the work they contracted to do. And then they wanted to whine to me and complain about the contract terms---they were terms they agreed with and set up. They said how they have been getting screwed by these big deals. A professional company would not have told me any of that. They would have come out, on time, and did the work for which they contracted for.

From the first day Jeff was very unorganized they took over the entire downstairs but did not complete one room. He had his helper drape the house to protect the furniture and floors in every room but did not work in each room on that first day, but he had them remove the plastic a threw it away, I mentioned to Jeff it was okay to leave the plastic but he refused. The next day he repeated that again with all of the plastic, but again they did not complete one area, finally they ran out of plastic and now some of my antique furniture and areas of the floor has paint mist spatters on them from using a spraying the paint on the ceiling. Jeff purchased the paint as they ran out in gallon cans and now the walls are not matching. Also Jeff suggested to switch to a mat finish instead of the satin that was currently on the walls, but he did not prime the walls and the new paint was sliding and not covering. When we pointed this out to him, he stated they would take care of it and it would look beautiful by the time they were completed. He stated they would not leave without our complete satisfaction. Jeff and Lee continued to work on the painting, but in four days of working we still do not have one room completed. On the last day Jeff was at our house we did not notice he was slowly packing everything and then left, did not say good bye nothing. After a few days we contacted Jeff and he stated he was not coming back they had completed enough work for what we had paid them, he stated if we continued to bother him he would put a lean on our house for the rest of the money. Out of courtesy, Lee, who is the owner was contacted just to be sure he was aware of the situation and was asked if he felt the same and we have not heard back from him either. Very unprofessional and after they started it did not seem like they knew what they were doing. Jeff was going to plaster the ceiling fan to the celing and when he was asked how would we get it down if it broke without damaging the celing he stated "Oh I guess we won't, I did not think about that" We are now having to get someone to finish this mess.

Jeff did a great job. He is very knowledgeable and very personable.

I had purchased a $99 big deal for painting a room. He didnt show up on the Tuesday afternoon that he said he was going to be coming. I had taken off work. He didnt call. I've tried several times to call him and have left a couple of msgs. No phone calls have been returned. I just want my money back at this point.

This was the worst experience with a contractor that I ever had. I had my kitchen scheduled to be painted on 6/5/13. No one showed up at the scheduled time of 9:30am. We received no phone call from the contractor. We tried to call the, numerous times and finally got a hold of the owner. He said he scheduled to many jobs today but would have someone out there tonight to paint our kitchen. This man shows up later in the day and says he cannot paint the kitchen today. He said he was told it was just trim work. He said he could be here tomorrow morning at 9:00am to paint the kitchen. He called after he left and said he was charging me an extra $100 for the second coat of paint. He said he needed to make money on this deal. I called the owner and told him what he said and he said he will take care of it. This morning no one showed up again. I called the painter directly and he said he will not be painting our kitchen because I went behind his back and spoke to the owner. He told me he is busy with paying customers! This company is awful! Had to go through Angie's list to get my refund. A whole lot of hassle for nothing.

It went terribly - in fact it did not go at all. We rearranged our schedule to fit in the painting job that we paid for, and were clear in communicating with the provider to set the date for the job as June 4. We heard nothing from the provider between May 25 and the supposed date, June 4. The provider did not show up, despite email and phone calls, and we never heard back from him. We are extremely unsatisfied. Angie's List is looking for another provider to honor the price, as we need the job done; otherwise we requested a refund. We are highly offended our complete shafting by Meticulous Painting and Drywall.

Terrific. He was very good about making sure no paint got on the hardware. Did a wonderful job. Good communication. Good painter. I felt safe with him in my house. I would highly recommend him.

I called to schedule an appointment. He never showed up for the appointment. I called him and he said he forgot about the appointment. We rescheduled for a date and time he preferred. He still did not show up to paint the second time. I called twice and left messages both times and he has still not responded to me.

We had 2 bedrooms painted, and Leroy did a very good job. We had a little bit of trouble connecting initially and getting on the schedule, but once we got that done, everything was fine. We had initially signed up for 1 room on the Angie's List deal, and then decided to add a 2nd room. Lee was able to do both of them in 1 day. He did a very professional job and the clean up was great as well. Would definitely work with him again.

We had a bit of a problem with the first appointment so we moved it to a week later. He was on time and was very polite and kept every thing clean and neat. He did have to come back to finish he next day, because he took his time and did a meticulous job. My only suggestion would be to have him see the space first so that he can estimate his time better and also my cathedral ceiling was not expected so I did pay a little more for that. I would recommend Leroy confidently.

Paper removal did not go as planed . Original paper was installed on unprimed walls could not be steamed off

I took off a day of work to meet the painter. He emailed the day before to cancel. Then, I didn't hear from him. A month goes by, so I email him about rescheduling. He said he could come last Saturday, the day before mother's day. I said we were already busy that weekend but we could accomodate if he could come early before our first appointment of the day. He said no. He couldn't come until 9:30. I said let's schedule another time...no response. Followed up today, the following Monday and he says he can come tomorrow. Well, I'm at work and can't take off. So, he says that he's scheduled 3 or 4 appointments that we have canceled? Huh? Not true. Scheduling an appointment is an agreement between 2 parties. He can't just put a time in his book and hold us responsible if we are not free at that time. The painter needs to be organized enough to try to fit into the customer's schedule. Notice, punctuality, and professionalism are important. So, the work has not been performed and I've asked for a refund. He told me to call Angie's List and get one.

The person was easy to contact, but... he was late (an hour plus) for the first appointment. Unfortunately there was a real issue with my dog (a dashund) who barked, lunged and grabbed his pants leg. The contractor was shaken and left without saying anything, nor doing any work. I called him when I realized he'd left---told him if he would come back, I'd close the dog in another room. He didn't call back. I called him back, and he rescheduled, but he didn't show or call. I called him and he said his brother had unexpectedly come into town and he had to help him get a license plate??? I do still want my refund, which he offered, but I haven't seen it yet.

Great experience. Communication was great. He was very friendly and detailed in his work. Excellent resource and enjoyed using his services. Very knowledgable and directed us when we need more paint based on room size and project. Hope to have the chance to work with his company again.

Provided excellent advice on type of paint to use, purchased all materials using their contractor discount benefited us for final bill. Very personable, respectful, nice clean work.

I asked them to prepare the walls for painting. He did a bad job. They forgot to remove some wallpaper.
