DECOR BY THE SHORE

We had the pleasure of working with Barbara and others from Decor from the Shore to design our living area. Barbara listened to our desires to have "warm decor" and not just "beachy decor." A detailed profile of recommendations, that included photos and material samples, was provided for our consideration. We were thrilled with the results. The two curved sofas are perfect for the living room. The glass top coffee table gives the appearance of more space; the recliners are slim-lined but extremely comfortable. Additionally, Barbara had a real challenge due to a built-in day bed -- in the TV living area -- that looked like a boat! She transformed it into a soft and comfortable day bed with warm colors and tropical touches that does not stick out like a sore thumb. The window treatments in the kitchen picked up all the colors since we have an open floor plan. The woven shades in the living room area enable outside views while cutting out the light, and the sliding glass door window treatments look perfect. We were not happy with one table -- that was to go behind the sofa -- it was no problem to return it. Also we decided to hold off on designs for our bedroom and foyer, There was never any pressure to pursue additional decorating. More recently, in 2010, we went back to Decor by the Shore when they had a sale. We took a sample of our bedspread in the hopes of finding a large piece of art for the bedroom. With the help of an associate, we came home with a perfect piece of art. We ended up going back and purchasing additional art work, a dresser, and glass tops.
