We used to have where you pay every month and if something happens they come in and you pay $75. When we bought the house our real estate agent said he used them so we called them. We paid for the year for the first couple of years upfront but then we decided to just pay by the month so we could stop whenever we want. We just stopped in July so we used them for about 4 years. We needed a new dishwasher and they came here about 6 times because they don't like to replace anything so they kept adding parts and adding parts and adding parts. The dishwasher still didn't work. Finally, they said ok we'll get you a new one but it will be a white one. I had a stainless steel one. I said no my kitchen is all stainless steel and they said ok here is the model number but it will cost you $200 and whatever. I said excuse me I can buy it cheaper because it is on sale right now. They said if we didn't buy it thru them it wouldn't be under warranty with them. That's when I decided that was enough. This is crap. I had to pay more for the dishwasher than I would have if I bought it myself. Would I recommend them, no. If you buy an old house and it needs a lot of stuff, it may be good. It depends on what you use them It's $75 a visit unless it is for the same thing. You only pay $75 for each item so that is good but they don't like to buy new appliances. My dishwasher was practically brand new on the inside and it still didn't work. They probably saved us $10000 on the heating and air which was pretty good. It's a really big house and a really big unit. If you had a really old house and you weren't sure about the appliances and you didn't have the money, they would be great depending on what coverage you had with them. We paid $50 a month so a little over $500 a year. They were the first time I've ever had something like that. The different companies they sent out were great. They used all different companies from all over so you never knew who was coming. You don't get to choose, they do. They were pretty quick except the first year we had them when our air conditioner broke. They said they would have somebody out in 2 weeks. The company that was supposed to come out called and asked us what the problem was. I told them the air conditioner was broke and my 80 year old mother was coming and they came right out. If you try to get a hold of them it was a real hassle. If you had a problem after the company came, you had to go thru so many stupid departments and then you had to have so much fricking information. It was a real pain in the a**. It was too much.
Description of Work: Our heat pump is old but it is practically brand new. They replaced all the parts.
