They were friendly and showed up on time. Everything seemed to go very well and I think it only really took about an hour or two to finish the whole house. They brought in a large vacuum cleaner and went to every vent pushing the large vacuum hose into the ducts. They also used a nice lemon sent which created a nice smell in the house for a couple weeks. The negatives only appeared a few months later when I noticed more than a normal amount of dust showing up on our surfaces. Additionally, both my wife and I ended up with fairly lengthy sinus infections about a month after the work had been completed. I decided to open up the vents and reach my hand into the ducts as far as I could reach to see if they were in fact clean. I was able to pull out a handful of dust and lent, several small chunks of wood and a 3 inch by 5 inch piece of drywall (the later two were probably left over from when the house was built, but I would have thought that these things would have been cleaned out too as part of their job). Over time the amount of dust coming out of our vents and settling in our home has decreased, but I get the feeling that all they were able to do is stir up the dust already present in the ducts. Based on this experience, I've begun to think that there is just no good way to clean out an air duct, but I figure they did as good a job as anyone could.
Description of Work: I hired them to clean the air ducts of my HVAC system. My house is about 30 years old, I've lived in it for 10 years and this is the first time I've had the air ducts cleaned. I'm always good about changing return filters regularly, however I don't know how well they were changed during the 20 years before I bought the house, so I decided it was time to hire someone to clean them. They cleaned the inside of our ducts, cleaned our vents and cleaned the inside of the HVAC unit itself.
