+ -1 moreSeveral weeks ago I was searching for a technician that could save my Desktop computer, which was an older one running XP which I was very happy with. It had been down for several weeks and I was told the motherboard had failed and the computer was not fixable. A friend suggested OBCR as they are on Angie's Llist. I called and spoke with Tim Lusk and made an appointment for the following week when I would be in that area. However by that time my Laptop had conrtacted a bad virus and wasn't working either. OBCR removed several bad viruses from my Laptop, was able to save all my information and installed a much better virus scan and the Laptop runs a lot faster. They replaced the hard drive in my Desktop but were unable to use the back-up unit I had because it was improperly installed. They spent a lot of time trying to remedy the problem with the manufacturer but to no avail. At that point I was going to go for a refurbished Windows 7 to match my Laptop. As it turned out I elected to have them BUILD ME A BRAND NEW computer running Windows 7 and that is what I ended up with. Both Tim Lusk and Andy Parker were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, professional and patient, explaining things to me and getting me up and running with a new computer that I love and a Laptop that is working just fine. They spent a lot of time making sure that things were the way I wanted them to be on both computers, they were very helpful!. I highly recommend Outer Banks Computer Repair! Lynne from Hatteras ....
Description of Work: Removed several viruses from Laptop, cleaned it up, installed better antivirus program. Got my Desktop running again but I could see where trying to save an older computer running XP was never going to work out as Microsoft won't be supporting that operating system much longer. Consequently it turned out they built me a brand new computer.

+ -1 moreI was given excellent service that went above and beyond the call of duty. My computer is running great, very fast and all viruses removed. The tech spent a lot of extra time explaining the problem and what was done to solve it. He also told me that if I had any more problems for the next 30 days, all work was guaranteed. I would definitely use this company again.
