Description of Work: They replaced a failing French drain and sump pump. They took extra care in making sure that the job was done with minimum mess. They kept me informed of the progress throughout the procedure. I would recommend Soggy Bottom Waterproofing for any basement waterproofing job without hesitation. My only regret was not having them do it the first time.

I will complete this portion after he completes the recommended work, when my review will better reflect his work.
Description of Work: He was very prompt in responding to me. I was impressed that he was willing to prepare 2 quotes: one for work recommended to fix my minor basement leak problem (at a reasonable price); the second for suggested additional work which would protect against leaking under extremely heavy rain events. I am hiring him to do the first phase (recommended) .

We are ver pleased. They came out and gave us a quote and thoroughly explained their diagnosis of why the basement flooded and how their system would remedy the problem. We have had two very heavy rains since installing the drain system and the pump has turned on as it should and there has been a perfectly dry basement. They were very good to work with, very clean and protective of all of our belongings, covering everything with plastic when they worked. We are very happy with them and with the result.
Description of Work: After a completely flooded basement, they came out and cut the finished walls up to about 3 1/2 feet, broke out the concrete floor along the wall and installed a drain system inside the basement along the wall including a waterproof vapor barrier about 4 feet up the wall. The system runs into an installed sump pump and out the basement wall into the yard. They also installed an exterior drain and drainage pipe in one part of the yard that was particularly prone to accumulating rain water. The work is guaranteed for life that we won't have water in the basement again

The work was outstanding and matched the advice they gave me. I had had a structual engineer made certain recommendations to correct my issues so I could get a new mortgage. Soggy Bottom made additional recommendations that did not add to cost but almost two months later I have a dry basement. Other companies had suggested far more costly and invasive solutions but I felt most confident with Soggy Bottom and I am glad I selected correctly. Soggy Bottom was professional, credible and I would recommend them to anyone confronted with similar probelms.
Description of Work: Installed 5 New external drain pipes using PVC piping. They cut away 4 foot of interior wallboard to be able to monitor the success of the new drain pipes in stopping water in the basement.

I could not be more pleased. As noted above: A's in all categories. And both Tony and Chris could not have been nicer or more respectful........and patient as I asked questions about everything. Tony was aware of his muddy feet and did not walk up the steps of my new porch , but knocked on the window to get my attention. (very thoughtful) They were both a delight to work with and I can't recommend them more highly. .
Description of Work: my previously bone dry crawlspace partially flooded after 4 days of solid rain the week of 1/14/13. Tony and Chris from Soggy Bottom leveled the area, put in a drywell and Zoellor sump pump, eliminated my a/c condensate pump and diverted condensate directly to drywell, covered area with vapor barrier and it tacked down. They also cleaned the gutters as that was a contribution (probably) to the water problem.

Soggy Bottom did a superb job in a very quick amount of time. They deliver what they promise and stand behind their work. They truly are first rate and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that has crawl space water issues. They were very prompt, professional, excellent service and just down right good honest people. Thanks soggy bottom!!!
Description of Work: They dug a french drain in my crawl space, installed a sump pump, sprayed some mold, leveled the ground and added rock and a vaper barrier. They also fixed my downspout issue by moving the water drains 10' from my house to keep more water from getting in my crawl space. They did all this in 2 days. WOW!!!

tI've dealt with numerous contractors and had such a wide range of experiences. Soggy Bottom is the new standard against which I will measure all others. This is why: 1. Tony is excellent at communicating. He listened to my needs and wants, and made several recommendations, along with pros and cons. I felt well educated and well served, not sold to, as a result . 2. Tony was PUNCTUAL and CONSISTENT: He did what he said he was going to do, on time. 3. Tony and crew were IMPECCABLE at cleaning up after themselves. They took pride in the appearance of the final workspace. 4. DISASTER RECOVERY: Tony's original recommendation was an outdoor drain solution. Midway through the project, after a half day of work and heavy equipment rental....removal of concrete, shrubs, and yards of dirt, it was revealed that the foundation of our house was unable to support the solution that Tony had proposed. Our house is 80 years old....this was not a problem that could have been identified. Without any renegotiation of price, Tony stayed committed to simply solving the problem. The project became much more intrusive as it required significant work INTERNALLY that we had not prepared for. Though this was terribly disappointing, Tony's reassurance and perseverance made this a raving success.
Description of Work: Problem: Water after heavy rains was starting to pool in a downstairs carpeted room., ruining the carpet, the baseboard and running the risk of mold. Evidence of water seepage existed along side of house, and in really heavy rains, water was "flowing" in a small stream from one side of the basement to the other. Solution: 1. Installed a french drain on the inside of the house by breaking through the concrete floor and then repatching. As a side benefit, installed a radon remediation system (their idea / my request) as part of the system, which also has an impact on the overall air quality of the house (2 dogs, 2 cdats). Installed sump pump in floor of a downstairs closet. 2. Inspected internal walls for evidence of mold.....peace of mind. 3. Installed a drain pipe externally attached to the 3 downspouts that funnel 50 % of the water from our expansive roof....this redirects external water from the side of the house (where leakage was occurring) to the back yard. 3. Removed large, deep rooted shrubs alongside the house, put down heavy plastic and covered with pine needles. Areas will e used eventually for planting.

They arrived around 8 a.m. and spent the first day digging the trench and installing the perforated pipe. The second day they put down the heavy gravel in the trenches, installed the pump, then the plastic, and then the fog. I'm sure there is more to it but I wasn't watching. .The men who worked on our house were very courteous and cleaned the area when they finished.
Description of Work: Soggy Bottom installed a perimeter french drain system with a pump to remove water and covered the ground with new plastic.they also fogged the crawl space for mold spores.

This was not an emergency, but some longstanding work that I had wanted to get done. Soggy Bottom Waterproofing was able to come out within 2 days to give an estimate. They carefully went through possible ways that we could go to keep run-off from the driveway away from the house's foundation. We also discussed ways to beef-up the existing drains in our basement. The plans were well thought out. Also I felt that they were fair and did not try to sell me more than I needed to get the job done. Soggy Bottom Waterproofing was able to schedule the job quickly and accommodate our schedule. They showed up on schedule, worked carefully but efficiently, and completed the job within a day, as promised. The work looks top notch and we have been really happy with the job.
Description of Work: Soggy Bottom Waterproofing installed a new french drain in our basement. They re-plumbed the drainage from existing sump pumps to tie into an new external drain. A valve to prevent backflow was also installed. Outside the house, they filled in an old coal chute that was accumulating water along the foundation (>100 year old house). They installed a french drain along our gravel driveway that parallels the house in order to keep that water away from the foundation. PVC piping was used throughout. The drain exiting the driveway was landscaped with brick edging.

He was the only person who actually asked me if I had a sump pump when I showed him where water was coming in my lower level bedroom between the baseboard and floor. The other person I had contacted me proposed that I have the entire yard dug up next to the house, dig down 5 ft, put in a new drain, and remove all plants that were there, would have torn up my entire front yard-for the cost of $5500. Soggy bottom checked my sump pump, replaced the motor and I have had no water coming in the room during the last four rains we have had. He was very honest and forthright and would not suggest something I did not need

Our foundation/french drains were clogged plus had either been installed incorrectly when the house was built or the ground had shifted or both. At any rate, despite having an indoor sump pump system, in an area of the lower level of the house that had previously been completely dry we began having water problems, especially after a heavy rain. We shopped around and Tony gave us the best estimate as well as the solution that seemed most logical. We have a friend who is a retired architect and we checked with him regarding the different solutions proposed and we all agreed that Soggy Bottom's approach made the most sense. I was both dreading having it done but also wanting it to be finished as soon as possible. Tony was able to schedule our job within about a week and the experience could not have been better. He explained everything they were doing, was prompt, professional, and very courteous and polite. The crew as well was terrific. I'm not always crazy about having a bunch of people that I don't know working around my house, but these guys were terrific. Personable, polite, professional and they worked hard and consistently. Everything was cleaned up at the end and we are very pleased. We would definitely recommend them to anyone having foundation, french drain, wet basement problems. Helen Akinc
Description of Work: On one side of the house they dug to the footings and removed the old french drain and installed a new french drain the length of the house. They installed a cleanout so that the drains can be flushed from time to time. The drain bed was filled with stone and the dirt was removed. They also dug and installed an extension of our downspout to move the water further away from the house and connected the air conditioning outflow to the new french drain.

It was the best possible scenario. I needed a wall waterproofed, and french drain installed in a horseshoe shape outside my laundry room wall in the basement. They ran an extra long line out to a leach bed they created so the water wouldn't run back in. Its been very effective and my crawl space is now dry.
Description of Work: Mr. Ferguson the owner came out one hr after I called him , to look at a big mess and botched job by another contractor. He was very professional, and knew exactly what to do to fix everything. The other contractor only did the bare minimum and used sub-standard materials. The crew he sent out were very polite and hard working and very concerned that I was happy with what they were doing. They involved me each time they made the next step and discussed each thing they were doing without being condescending or convincing me to do the least amt possible. I ended up with a superior waterproof and french drain system that has not let in a drop of water into my crawl space since. I highly recommend Soggy Bottom and will be calling them again for more projects in the future.
