When he first arrived, he asked for an advance so he could buy fuel for his chain saws. We advanced $50. When he came back to remove the tree, he left a stump that was about twenty feet high. He asked to be paid the remaining $450, but agreed to leave two chain saws as earnest. Several days later, he returned and said he needed the saws for a job, but would complete our job the next day. We haven't seen him since, in spite of numerous calls.

MASSIVE DAMAGE, POOR SERVICE, CONSTANT FAILURE TO RETURN AND FIX THE DAMAGE. MANY PROMISES BUT NO SHOW
Description of Work: i Hired them to remove 2 trees, trim a 3rd and cover the yard with straw. I have dog runs in the yard which can be move easily. They did not move them, crushed 3 with a tree, damaged the main fence. They made poor attempt to fix the main fence ( I had to fix that) but as of this date have not replaced the dog runs. Nor have the completed the job. I get constant promises to be here and replace the runs but they never show. They claim to be insured but no agent has come around even after numerous requests. Mr. Smith claims no money, has attempted to purchase runs off of craigs list as opposed to new ones. It is always someone elses fault or lack of money, or employees getting equipment stolen. He has never met me face to face. Only sends his crew. DO NOT HIRE these people as I believe them to be very dishonest. I was stupid in payment up front so do not do that either.

They hound you to death. They were always asking for draws. They had us pay a thousand here, five hundred there. We paid them the last thousand and they just disappeared. Their Bobcat destroyed our front yard. They dropped the trees and just left everything in the yard including their personal trash. They haven't even cut up the trunks of the trees yet. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Our neighbors used them as well and the same outcome. They never finished anyone's work before they moved on to the next home on the street.
Description of Work: Two extra large trees dropped. Trimmed shrubs. Ground stump.

We have not seen anyone since then. Our insurance man says their insurance has lapsed. Never use them or anyone who goes door to door!!
Description of Work: They gave us a price to take down 2 trees. Showed us the flier where they were bonded and insured. (Boy, were we stupid) Two men came . They topped the first and several branches destroyed my shrubs and a tree. Then, they cut the second and took down my fence!!!! They were to come back the next day and clean up. After several calls they cleaned up some of the mess.

The estimate (pictured below) was received from Smith Tree Specialists on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 3PM. Large limbs were removed from tree by 6PM and $250 deposit check was apparently taken to the owner and cashed at a gas station. (check at bottom of page) The limbs were cut and dropped onto the hydrangea bushes (planted seven years ago in honor of our newborn daughter) and privacy fence below and were not removed, as per the signed contract. Upon deciding that the job was just too much for them (evidently that included simple removal of the downed limbs), Smith’s Tree Specialist left. (pictures are from Weds AM) My husband called on Monday and spoke with the owner of the company who assured us that he would have someone out to remove the mess ASAP. He visited the site, and said that the limb removal that had already been done was a $400 job so we should be happy we got what we did. When I called again Tuesday, he seemed nicer and he promised he would have someone here by Tuesday before noon. He called at 12:30 and he said it would be later, then I called at 3:30 and he said it would be after 5pm. No one ever came back.
Description of Work: Requested and received a quote for removal of one red oak tree. Tree was supposed to be taken down and removed, but was not. Quote was $500, half up front. I paid half and it was cashed at a gas station that night. They cut large limbs off the bottom of the tree that evening and dropped them onto my hydrangea bushes... THEN LEFT THEM. They never removed anything, never returned to finish.
