John Pegg Auction and Real Estate

Overall we were so pleased. It really took the stress off of my husband (it was his mom who passed away) in deciding what to do with all of her belongings. John Pegg kept in close contact with us throughout the time of hire to the auction. We were able to set reserves on items - and everything was sold! Well worth the money!

In looking for an auction company near the Greensboro, Winston-Salem, NC area, I came upon the J.C. Pegg Auction website. At the top of the page, they have a derogatory quotation about Democrats by Ronald Reagan. The quote was, "The Democrats' view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases. If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." I was kinda shocked. Most businesses don't wear their politics on their sleeves (for good reason)! As a nice Southern girl, my mother always taught me that there were two subjects NOT to discuss with folks you don't know - politics and religion! But being a proud Democrat, I was offended, so I decided not to follow my mother's advice, and I sent Mr. Pegg an email telling him that I'd never use his services because of his obvious bias against Democrats. I also told him that I was surprised that his business was so "political" and that I'd be surprised if any Democrats would use his services. Evidently, he has a lot of wealthy Republican patrons because he zapped me with an email telling me, "My experience has been that the Democrats that attend auctions want someone else to pay for the items and then give it to them." Whoa! Get back, Jack! So, ALL YOU DEMOCRATS OUT THERE, YOU ARE NOT WANTED OR RESPECTED AS A PERSON AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! Evidently, Mr. Pegg thinks we're all a bunch of cheapskates. After thinking about it, though, there may be some truth in what he says. I just wish Republicans would have been "cheap" enough not to run up the largest budget deficits in U.S. history. DEMOCRATS, STAY AWAY!!
