Dunlap Brothers Concrete

I hired the Dunlop Brothers to (1) remove and replace damaged concrete and (2) add a drain near my detached garage. I found Mr. Jerry Dunlop to be a good communicator. The Dunlop Brothers were not inexpensive, but they were reliable and had the right skill sets and equipment. Their work was of very good quality. I am very satisfied with Dunlop Brothers and would hire them again.

Jerry Dunlap provided a printed quotation for the work within 30 minutes after measuring and assessing the work to be done. Mr. Dunlap made some excellent suggestions to improve the project. The price was comparable to other quotations, but was much more detailed about the scope of work. He and his crew arrived on time to perform the work. All concrete removal, grading, and formwork was complete in the first day. The concrete was placed the second day. To avoid damage to the existing driveway, all trucks remained on the street. Old concrete was removed with a Bobcat and fresh concrete was hauled in with a small self-powered machine. The quality of the work is excellent. Rebar ties to the old concrete, rebar reinforcement at the new curb, beautiful finish. The crew was respectful of the property and properly cleaned the area of food wrappers, etc. I highly recommend this company.

Great, professional work, surbs removed, leveling for sloop drainage, forms set. When concrete was tone poured, he covered area of driveway so dirt and mud didn’t get it all messy. Great work. We recommend them.

Jerry came a priced a replacement on the spot. We set a week for the work to be performed. His crew showed up as planned, removed and prepared the driveway to pour later that week. Pour was done in a day and a few days later the crew came back to remove the forms. Paid half down and other half when work was complete. My driveway was about 9 feet wide and 73 feet long. Quoted two other companies, was was way higher and the other never got back with me.

Our first meeting with Mr. Jerry was for the estimate; it wasn't long after speaking with him that we knew, he knew his stuff. He asked us about how we wanted the driveway to look, as well as gave suggestions about the flow of the driveway, and drainage. Mr. Jerry and his crew were there early the first day tackling our crabgrass infested gravel driveway; getting the area graded, and the forms in place in preparation of the concrete. It was going to be bad weather later on that week, so the concrete was poured the following week. The crew that he has are prompt, and friendly. You could tell they all were serious about their work, and doing a good job. Today they removed all the forms, cleaned the area, and moved the soil back into place. We've had so many neighbors/friends ask who did our driveway, as well as our heating and air guy. We will definitely be using his services again.

Jerry's crew showed up on time, started to work as soon as they received instructions - and rarely stopped. The job was done to perfection - and they even swept the road of excess gravel that had fallen from the dump truck while loading the work carts. They were careful with the older concrete and made sure to keep the heavy equipment off of it - while doing the turnaround. Jerry was very professional - and advised on how to care for the new concrete while it was curing. The day I put a request in for a quote Jerry Dunlap called me within the hour. He let me know what time he would arrive at my house and was there on time. He gave me a written estimate and explained everything to us. The day of the service he covered my existing driveway to keep the mud off of my drive way. He did not bring the concrete truck on my drive way he wheel barreled it onto my property. He finished when he said he would. Let me first say, that I am thoroughly pleased with the work of Dunlap Brothers Concrete. I needed to have an extension added to my driveway. The job was made more difficult because of the internet cable, irrigation pipes, drainage pipes and access to the site, all of which were in the way. Nothing was cut and the job turned out perfect. There was quite a bit of manual work to get around everything. Jerry’s team used a Georgia Bucket to avoid having the cement truck on the driveway. Plus, they also covered the existing driveway with plastic to avoid any damage to it. The entire team Jerry used was extremely friendly and professional. If I need additional work in the future I would not hesitate to use them. Thanks again.

Jerry Dunlap returned our call within 24 hours and made an appointment within 3 days. He gave us a written estimate with the job details and then reviewed the job details with us. We put a 50% deposit down for work, after he gave us an estimated completion date of within 3 days. He came to the job site exactly when he said he would come. This job required hand wheel-barrowing 3 yards of concrete to the back porch and finishing the concrete with a brush finish. They put an expansion joint around the enclosed patio and plastic up the walls so the concrete would not make a mess on the walls. Dunlap Brothers is a family owned business that takes great pride in their work and sincerely want you to be happy with their work from estimation to installation. We love our new patio and look forward to enjoying it this summer.

The weather delayed us 3 times but we finally got it done. Jerry was very professional and accommodating. I asked for references before hiring and he sent me 2. I called each one and one customer even sent me a photo of the work they did for him. Very pleased.

We asked them to give us a quote and they came out the same day. They were very professional, showed up on time and put everything in writing. We told them up front that we were waiting for additional quotes to come back but that we needed to have the work completed quickly in order to get my mom in and out of my house using a wheelchair. They weren't pushy at all, just followed up with a text. When we decided to go with Dunlap Brothers they were able to complete the work right away. They showed up on time, did a great job and left the area clean. After receiving quotes similar in cost, it was their professionalism that made us go with them. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

They would not honor their advertised price that is advertised on Angies List (pictured attached). They claim it is an "old" ad. They poured driveway today and the ad is still up online. The slab they poured today (350 sq ft) does not have a seam to allow for settling, so I am confident it will crack in short time. I can not recommend this company. I wish I would have done more research prior to having this company do the work. I was definitely overcharged for an inferior product. Good Luck.

Jerry did a great job of following up, and providing a written estimate. They were very careful to cover and protect areas around the work site, and they cleaned up well. The new porch floor looks great!

Mr. Dunlap responded to phone call immediately and provided a Firm Price Quote for the insurance adjuster. Once given the OK from the insurance company, he brought brick samples by the house and started the job the following day. Job took 2 days. He was responsive, courteous, prompt, knowledgeable, and professional all the way thru the process.

These guys are awesome!! One of the best home improvement experiences we have ever had. Great from start to finish. Jerry and his crew are wonderful to work with...courteous, punctual, attention to detail. They really took their time and genuinely cared about getting it just the way we wanted. For example, my husband and I did not agree on where to curve the sidewalk around near the garage, so after we layed it out one way I was standing looking at it and one of the guys came over to see if we wanted to change something. He took the time to show me a couple different ways, and offered his expert opinion as well, and in the end we positioned it perfectly (which was different from the way we had it initially...my husband was right). They dug everything by hand so that the yard would not be torn up and cleaned up completely afterward. We intend to have them come back and do another sidewalk toward the back of the house in the near future. This is how all home improvement projects should go!
