They were great, professional all the way thru the process from the initial estimate to the actual installation. If you watched them do it you would never know they were here. They were THAT good.

This was a very pain free experience. From the initial estimate through the installation all of their employees were very professional and courteous. At the end of the 1st day of them working in the attic replacing the air handler unit, I went up to vacuum the floors of any mess they may have made. I was very surprised, and pleased, to find they had totally cleaned up the area. The unit is working great so far.

iI had bought a forty year old house and one of the heat pumps quit before we moved in. I called Humphrey's because they had very good ratings on Angie's list. Matt from Humphrey's talked with me about my options and the advantages/disadvantages of each. Because he educated me about rebates and tax incentives, I was able to get the most efficient unit less expensively than next level down unit. They did quick work and were responsive and professional.

I called this provider first thing on Monday morning. Our heat pump (provides heat or AC in the south) had iced over on Sunday and now would not restart. Our work order was put in the queue and we were advised that a technician would probably not be available on Tuesday. Tuesday, as promised, a technician arrived and within minutes let us know that the motor on our heat pump had died. He told me that they might have one at the shop but otherwise they would have to order one. I consider this perfectly normal during the summer. A shop just cannot keep enough of the right parts on hand at all times. I thanked him for telling me the facts and we spent another blistering night at the house. My husband and I decided that if it was going to take longer than Wednesday to get the heat pump repaired, we would purchase a small air conditioner for the bedroom. On Wednesday morning (today), just 30 minutes after the shop opened, I received a call letting me know that a motor was available and the technician would be out today. The same technician arrived and replaced the motor within 15 minutes. He told me that his boss had brought the motor to him on the boss's way to another location so that it could be placed in my system that day. What outstanding service! They did their work as fast as humanly possible just before Independence Day and while Tropical Storm (almost a Hurricane) Arthur was approaching. I can't thank them enough for their response.

Overall, the job went very well.
Description of Work: Our H/AC died about 2 weeks ago. I called Humphrey Heating & Air Conditioning because I've been a satisfied customer for about 9 years. David Stowe (one of the best, caring and professional salespersons on the planet) came out promptly, advised us of his findings, and presented us with our options and costs. I opted to have his proposal mailed to me and received it within 2 days. Meanwhile, I called two other local companies to see if I could get free estimates. I found that this was possible only if they performed the work for me, otherwise, the estimates were $70 and $75 respectively. I opted for Humphrey. I signed the proposal and agreement on May 7, 2013, and the units were installed, by James and Keith, on May 9th and the work completed on May 10th. They did good work, they were respectful and polite, and they left the areas in which they had worked very clean. Unfortunately, over the weekend, we realized that the new system wasn't cooling. So, early this morning, May 13, 2013, I called David to tell him of our dilemma. He assured me that someone would be out ASAP to fix the problem. In less than an hour, Jeff (Humphrey technician) was at our door. He found that the zone board, which was installed with the original system, had to be replaced. This was accomplished quickly, and we are now enjoying our new system. I couldn't have asked for better or more professional, efficient service.

I was quoted $75 for a house call and ended up getting charged $225. The technician replaced a faulty capacitor and pressure checked the system. The replacement capacitor was not the same as the one it replaced and he had to use wire ties to hold it in place. After the technician finished his work, he told me he had to call the office to find out how much to charge me. He presented me with a bill for $225 and I paid by check. I had already priced the Trane Dual Capacitor on the Internet before the technician arrived and expected to pay about $29-39 for the part. I had already troubleshot the problem and suspected the capacitor was faulty before he arrived. I was unable to find a local shop that had the capacitor in stock and felt it would be quicker for me to use a contractor to get the unit serviced. I called and left a message with an employee for the Manager to contact me about the charges, but never received a call back.

On 14 June, a technician came out and conducted a leak check and left a maintenance form stating the unit passed the leak check. No leaks were found. Not so, on 21 June, I arrive home once again to house temp of 90%. I immediately call Humphrey Heating again and reported that my A/C was out once again and that I needed someone to come back out and check the A/C. This was about 4:30 pm. I was told someone would be out there today. Around 7:00 pm when no one showed at my house, I call Humphrey once again and was told that the tech. would give me a call when he was on his way. The tech called and informed me that he would not be able to come until the next day. I spoke some words of encouragement to the tech and informed him I was not happy with this lastest development. On 22 June (Wednesday) morning around 10:00 Humphrey Heating called and informed me that the earlilist they can have a technician out at the house would be 28 June 2011, a whole week with no A/C with temps outside in the High 90*. I once again offered some words of encouragement and told the young lady this was unexceptable, she basically told me that the tech, was not aware how back up they were and even though I have had a service contract with them since they installed the A/C unit and I pay $168.00 every year, continue to wait and they would see what they can do!!! So I refused to go another night without A/C, so I contacted another Heating company that evening and within five hours they sent a Tech and in less than five minutes after arriving, he had found the leak and showed it to me and within 45 mins and 7 pounds of R-22 later I had my A/C working once again. Edwards Heating company is more customer friendly than Humphrey Heating.
Description of Work: On 13 June 2011, I arrived to my house around 5:00 Pm to find that my A/C was not working. My house thermostat was sat at 75 degrees however, it was registering at 89 degrees temp in my house. I call Humphrey and reported that my A/C was not working and they said they would get someone out as soon as possible. That evening around 6:30 - 7:00 pm a technician arrived and put 3 pds of R-22 into my system and said that, the unit needed to be leaked check.

The men did a good, neat job. Although they did not arrive at appointed time, the manager kept me informed as to who would be coming to my house and updated the time of their arrival. I was satisfied with how he handled that. Final price for this service came in under the initial estimate.
Description of Work: AC unit needed to be relocated away from roof's edge. Poor placement by a different company years ago resulted in an ice- frozen unit in winter weather.

Humphrey replaced the relay and taped up the burned-out wiring leading into the relay with black electrical tape. Two days later, the relay failed and had to be replaced by another Heating Co., who also replaced the wiring leading into the relay, rather than place tape around them like Humphrey did. Now, it has been fine ever since. The second company was Edwards Heating and Air, and their charge was only $105.00 to repair Humphrey's job.
Description of Work: Replaced 2-stack relay.

When we bought this house we inherited a "state of the art" air handler/heat pump that needs special servicing, so we renewed the service contract with them, especially since they were the company that originally installed it. (They will come twice a year to service the heat pump and change the special filter, if necessary. We pay $168 for a one year contract.) On the first service call with us, the technician actually arrived earlier than the scheduled appointment. He went ahead and started the work on the outside unit, and continued with the inside unit and filters once we arrived home. (The serviceman had been to this property before. In fact he was one of the technicians who had installed the unit.) The quality of work has been good so far. We will be using this company again.
Description of Work: I used the services of Humphrey Heating & AC Inc on the 17th of February. It was a typical service order inspection of the equipment that's supposed to happen every year.

I hired Ace Builders and he hired this company to do the work. I was completely pleased with them. I had 8 companies come out to give me estimates and they were the only company that went up in my attic. They also went out to check it and put more coolant in the outside unit so it would cool until they came to replace it. They were wonderful, professional, quick and they cleaned up after themselves. They were as nice as they could be. They redid all the ductwork and added vents for the same price that the other people were only going to put the unit in for.
