Description of Work: I had an unusually difficult issue with a dining room table and chairs that had been through some rough handling and four moves. The top of the table was loose and wobbly, one of the chairs was broken and the joints were all loose. Mike spoke with me to get and idea of the issues before our appointment, we set a day and he called both the day before to confirm and to let me know his arrival time the day of the appointment. He fixed the issues with the table, was able to repair the broken chair and tightened all of the joints. He and his assistant were professional, courteous and very competent. I can recommend his services without reservation.

Description of Work: Mike arrived on schedule & assessed the problem with our old (and favorite) recliner, which was wobbly on both sides from the armrests to the floor. He took the chair apart & determined that at least part of the problem was that the manufacturer had never used the right amount of screws; even though there were holes in the brackets, there weren't enough holes drilled in the wood to take the screws. He remedied the problem & fixed my husband's favorite chair! It may not look "brand new" but my husband is thrilled to have "his" chair back! Mike did an excellent job at a fair price & I would absolutely recommend him!

Description of Work: I was looking for someone, anyone who would come to my home to repair a couch. The semi-attached back cushions are coming apart at the seams. Mike told me on the phone that he could do it but it would not look perfect. When he arrived at my home, he was honest and said I should send it to an upholster so the repair could be done on a professional machine. I really, really appreciated his honesty.

Description of Work: He refurbished an old shadowbox. He came and picked it up from my house, kept it until the refinishing was perfect, and returned it. He called me occasionally to keep me up to date. It was a very old piece that had a very musty smell. and he worked hard until he got the smell to go away. He was great!

Description of Work: He repaired a sofa, an unusual design that took a lot of ingenuity to figure out a way to make it work. I gave him more money than he asked for simply because of the amount of time and extra work he put into it.

 + -1 moreI WAS REFERRED TO MIKE'S FURNITURE REPAIR BY THE COMPANY FROM WHOM WE HAD PURCHASED OUR RECLINER. MIKE WAS EASILY CONTACTED, KEPT THE APPOINTMENT AND ARRIVED PUNCTUALLY AT THE PREDETERMINED TIME. HE HANDLED THE REPAIR EXPERTLY AND EVEN FIXED A SPRING THAT HAD COME LOOSE THAT WE HAD NOT DETECTED. HE DID THE REPAIR HERE AT OUR HOME WHICH WAS A GREAT CONVENIENCE. HE WAS PREPARED WITH THE CORRECT TOOLS TO PERFORM THE JOB. HE KEPT HIS WORK AREA CLEAN AND ORDERLY AND LEFT EVERYTHING PERFECTLY IN PLACE WHEN HE WAS FINISHED. HE EVEN TOOK OUT THE BOX THAT THE PART HAD COME IN AND PUT IT IN THE DUMPSTER. (I HAD ORDERED THE PART PREVIOUS TO CALLING MIKE FOR THE APPOINTMENT, SO I DID HAVE THE REPLACEMENT MECHANISM FOR HIM TO INSERT INTO THE CHAIR WHEN HE ARRIVED.) MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT AND I WILL CALL UPON HIM SHOULD HIS SERVICES BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE. MY RECLINER WORKS LIKE NEW, ACTUALLY BETTER THAN NEW!!!
