Description of Work: We have used McClintock Heating for many years. We have a yearly contract with them to service our heating and a/c units. They are very professional, very nice, always clean up and always discuss options for keeping our system running the best it can. This last call (in Oct.) our system needed more freon which is getting very expensive. So we discussed options for repair as well as for purchasing a new unit. I trust the service techs who perform the service on our unit

Description of Work: I can not say enough about the excellent service provided by this company. I have had a need to use them three times in the last several months, twice in regard to the air conditioner and once for the heating unit. They came promptly each time which is very important to me, since my husband is a hospice patient. The problem was quickly resolved in each incident at a reasonable cost. The service people, Kevin and Devin Smith, were very professional and went out of their way to make sure everything was operating safely before leaving my home.

Description of Work: They were on time and profressional. He did a very thorough examination of our HVAC units to decide what would best fit our needs. He was very knowledgable about Trane heat pumps and was able to give us alot of insight. They are definitely in the running for the job.

Description of Work: Technician was pleasant and very helpful and informative about my A/C. He took the time to explain things to me and did work beyond what I expected -- like going into my attic on a very hot day to not only check something, but to set a pipe correctly that roofers didn't. I will definitely use McClintock in the future.

Description of Work: My AC is out & I called McClintock to come take a look. After 10+ minutes of speaking with reception, I still wasn't clear on what type of service call to request. Repair is one price. Replacement is another. Very frustrating experience. I would suggest calling another company that wants your business.

Description of Work: Drain line was stopped up on AC, and it caused a small leak in my attic. They responded quickly cleaned out my drain line and gave me options to keep this from happening again. He, Rick, also showed me how to work my thermostat more efficently.

Description of Work: Replaced an entire system with a Train XR-15 unit outside and a TAM070H21 variable speed air handler. The wiring was changed as well as some new duct. The work was very neat,on time and as quoted. When it is time to change my other unit I will have these guy's do the same thing.

Unfortunately, we'd have to use our old HVAC company because of the equipment warranty issues. Thank you, Danny & Randy, for your unbiased recommendation! Description of Work: My A/C was not working and after reading all these superb reviews, I called this company. The company is very professional and prompt. The technician who came by, Kevin is outstanding. He took the time to inspect everything and was very very through, professional and nice! He diagnosed the problem as a faulty thermostat. He was nice enough to jump start the A/C . My biggest complaint about the company and not Kevin is that they only install Trane products. That meant a thermostat that starts at $276 and upwards!!!! I can get a reliable thermostat at Home Depot for anywhere between 70-100 at most. Not only did they insist that they only install Trane thermostats they wanted to charge me an additional 100 to come back out and install one I get from Home depot. So..I felt a little cheated considering I paid the travel and inspection charges the first time around which is $89.

Description of Work: My A/C unit was just blowing air and not cooling the house. Brandon (I believe) examined the thermostat inside and the 3 units outside. The main problem ended up being a tripped breaker, but he spent the time looking at all 3 units, educating me on the units, checked the accuracy of the theromstats and gave me some other ideas and tips. Additionally, he checked the crawl space, and I'm glad he did. We found out that the electrical outlet down there for the dehumidifer and the condensate pump didn't work. This explained why my upstairs has been so humid the last few years in the summer. It probably never worked. He replaced that as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the time and thoroughness of the service call.

Description of Work: The service was prompt, the repairman found the problem explained what it was and offered the 2 best solutions. He then checked everything else over to make sure I would not have any more problems. I learned more from him in the first 10 minutes he was here than any other serviceman had ever offered in the past. When I needed to call back to the office the girl that helped me was very polite and helpful. I now have a HVAC company I feel that I can trust and count on. I have already recomended them to others on 2 different occasions.

Description of Work: We love this company. We live in a townhome and have a service contract with McClintock. They provide excellent service and I have confidence in their work. The office people who schedule visits are congenial and courteous. The technicians are punctual and competent. I feel the prices are reasonable and that I am provided with good service for my money. We have had our contract for three years. I never feel that they try to "upsell" me to unnecessary repairs / parts. In our 3 year contract I have not paid any additional or unexpected fees.

Description of Work: Main duct work to a/c unit in attic had become unglued/unfastened and cold air was blowing into the entire attic but not the house. Attempted to line up emergency service w/four different companies, one of which I am under a yearly contract, but was given "appointment" 2-4 days away from emergency. McClintock came the very next day and was able to reconnect the duct to the unit. The a/c unit had run for at least 10 days in the broken mode. Now it is running better than ever before with even the thermostat settings matching exactly. I am so very grateful to McClintock for their quick service and thorough repair. Sometimes the bigger companies you see on tv with their songs and dances are NOT the ones you want to call to "have cool air in your house tonight"!

Description of Work: I have used McClintock in the past and found that they do excellent work. There's no question about that. I even made a very favorable report on Angie's List and I have often recommended them to friends and neighbors. The issue I now have is their pricing. I recently had them make a bid on a large project. Their proposal was 23% above the next contractor on installation of the same equipment. Also, they never even made a suggestion of the next higher grade equipment, which would have qualified for the $1,500 Energy Tax Credit, which we ultimately went with. I was surprised and disappointed in McClintock. Another contractor who is listed with an "A" on Angie's List did the project with excellent results.

Description of Work: I called on a Saturday AM because my heat pump was not working at all. The service tech returned my call within a few minutes. I explained my situation to them and they came out for a service call. The news was not good so I had another contractor perform the same service and their diagnosis was the same. I would trust McClintock to perform service work if my usual contractor can not do the work.

Description of Work: A/C was not cooling. They came out and charged the unit and recommended that I have a leak check done. I will have them come back in the fall when the attic is cooler to have the leak check done. They were very prompt and very professional.
