McClintock Heating & Cooling

I have used McClintock for over a year for ordinary maintenance. But my unit died a natural death, and I asked them to quote for a new system. I have a 3 story house, and the old unit was not properly circulating, so I had bad hot/cold spots throughout the house. McClintock helped me assess the proper requirements, recommended a great Trane system with variable air flow, and gave me a quote I did some comparison, and their quote was competitive. They completed the installation of both the outside unit and the inside air handler unit in record time because they day they began a spring freeze was coming in, and they wanted me to have heat! They could NOT have been more professional, courteous, or accommodating of my schedule. They even sent me a hand-written thank you note for the opportunity. I found them to be uncommonly superior, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. These guys are GREAT pros !!

Work was scheduled within a few days of calling. He came out to the house on time and finished in a couple of hours. The operation of the pump works well as I can see water coming out of the drain pipe outside the house when the a/c switches on. Workmen were very friendly and knowledgeable.

McClintock was great. They were efficient and did the job that they said they were going to do. The repairmen were helpful, practical and polite. They weighed in the fact that our unit is over 14 years old and did not try to sell us more than we needed.

McClintock provided an estimate for a Trane 2.5 ton air handler and an XL15i condensing unit. The salemans indicated that the XL14i (14 SEER) was the adequate for our home, but due to a Trane rebate on the XL15i (15 SEER) I could get a better system for the same price as the XL14i. I compared three estimates for identical systems. I did not choose McClintock because the price was significantly higher for the same system, warranty and installation.

I sought multiple estimates prior to choosing McClintock. They were in line with the other top-end quotes we received and were able to work with our needs and schedule. They were very polite and very professional. The job was done well and in a timely fashion. Our new system was up and running in a couple of days and they managed to give us a warm bedroom while the downstairs was disconnected. Very thoughtful. Unlike one of the other high-end companies, McClintock also noted that our old system was over-sized and recommended a more affordable smaller system. I was nervous about this at first (and was willing to pay more), but they seem to have been correct. Better yet this should save us more money on our energy bills.

They were great. They spent a long time checking things out and trying to find the lowest cost options (before realizing it was covered under warranty). Then they ordered the part and installed it. They were on time and polite and seem to have done great work. Also, they were able to schedule the work around my peculiar work schedule.

We called at 7:30 am and left a message on their voice mail. Someone returned our call within 10 minutes. They told us they could be here today and James Dyckman, their service manager, was here at 4:15 that afternoon. He was great, very courteous, thorough, and professional. He took his time and explained everything he had done. He also told us what to do in case the problem reappeared. We will definitely call them again. And, our dog Petey, loved James.

McClintock provided very professional service. They responded to our after-hours emergency call promptly, and sent a technician within several hours of our call. Landon was professional and courteous, and determined the problem to be an issue with the relay switch. after fixing what he thought to be the problem, everything worked well until a few hours later when our gas heating unit resumed its problematic issue of turning on to heat the house, then turning off the flame and continuing to blow cold air throughout the house. the next day Landon replaced the relay switch, which fixed the problem, again only for a few hours. The third day they sent James, who checked the entire system, determined the problem was fixed by the relay switch, but installed a tracking device to determine why the system was failing. Since then, we've had about 3-4 weeks of good service from the unit. Problem seems to have been fixed. I'm happy with the service, as they were committed to doing the job right.

We called McClintock to do the first winter tune-up of our heating system since we purchased our house 1 1/2 years ago. We liked the good reviews we read in Angie's List and were not disappointed. I initially called to use the Angie's List discount for a winter service, but after the winter/spring package was explained to me, I decided to purchase that for the overall value. From the person who originally booked the appointment to end of the service, it was a good experience. I was able to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, they called the day before to confirm, and the technician called when he was on his way over from his 1st appointment (On Time!). The technician was friendly and professional. He really took his time and seemed very thorough, even explaining a few extra things to us that we weren't aware of. It was one of the best heating/air experiences we've had in 12+ years of home ownership. We're looking forward to having them back in the spring.

McClintock had come out to check my upstairs furnace a month earlier and I was very disappointed to call them back for the same problem. They apparently had not found the problem in the first visit. Their service manager came out and did the repairs this time. Everything went well and he got the furnace running quickly. Because this was the second visit, they deducted the cost of the first trip from the total cost of the second visit. They went out of their way to make sure everything was in order before they left. Their price was very reasonable compared to their competitors and I was very happy that they discounted the cost of the second trip.

We called on a Saturday, and they came out that day. Although during the work, he broke something in the furnace, he replaced that part without extra charge.

Just got estimate. Very nice and polite. Came out quickly and gave detailed explanation. Only chose another company, as they were slightly lower price and could do work quicker

Called at 9AM; tech showed up at 2:30PM; after trip to get parts, job complete at 4PM, all the same day. Service was excellent. Both the phone rep. and service tech. were friendly and knowledgeable. Price seemed a little high, but probably worth it for manufacture specific (not generic) parts and expert installation. Would definitely use again.

This company is absolutely fabulous !! James, the technician, was prompt, knowledgeable, honest and so well mannered. Another big plus is he is pet friendly, my dog loves him !! I had received a quote from another company for $2,600 to install two by-pass humidifiers (with no new thermostats). McClintock was only $1,398.00 for the two humidifiers installed. I then decided to add the two new thermostats and the bill still came out almost $600.00 less than the other company was charging me just for the humidifiers. I highly recommend this company and cannot say enough good things about them. I've learned from this experience that there are heating and air companies that you can't quite trust. McClintock has the best prices and best service I've experienced to date.

They were prompt and professional. They got to the root of the problem without trying to guess at things and raising the expense. They did a good job. They were very honest.

During a rare Charlotte cold spell, our downstairs unit stopped working and was blowing cold air. I went into the crawl space to check and relight the pilot as it has gone out before. I could not get the pilot to relight so I shut it down and gave them a call. Even with the colder weather and all the call volume, they got someone to our house by that afternoon and within about five minutes of the scheduled time. Their truck actually pulled into our driveway right after my wife got home and was closing the garage! Landon fixed the problem in a few minutes by replacing the thermocouple with no funny business. No inflated costs, and no pushing us to replace the unit even though it is older. They called the next day to follow up and make sure that everything is working OK. We will be getting an estimate them in the future when we upgrade our downstairs heat.

We noticed the heat was not working one morning and called McClintock. They called back within the hour and said that they would see what they could do about getting someone out the same day. An hour or so later they called and told me that they would have someone stop by later that afternoon. The technician, Jim, was very polite and quickly found the problem. He gave me a quote and then fixed everything within an hour. We were very pleased with the companies quick response. They even called back the next day to make sure everything was working properly.

Things couldn't have been handled in a more professional manner. They are an excellent company!

We contacted McClintock initially a year ago or so to perform regular maintenance on our HVAC systems. We did so because of their excellent rating in Angie's List. Both of our units are 15 years old and were the original builders units. I was sure their demise was approaching if not imminent. After a couple of maintenance trips, McClintock recommended that we replace both units and Rob McClintock examined both again and gave us a quotation. He said it would take about four days from soup to nuts. We gave them the job. They came when they said they would come and did the work the way they said they would do it. They were clean, courteous and thorough. Having to spend several thousand dollars is never enjoyable, but their involvement helped make the experience as painless as possible. They did an excellent job.

I spoke with Rob who was polite and knowledgeable. He told me my options and gave me his opinion what he would do if it was his house. We are pleased with his work.

Amazing responsiveness from owner Rob McClintock made this a positive experience. We had priced programmable thermostats at 3 suppliers and chose McClintock on price and availability. Installer Jack Rhodes was on time, and knew his stuff. We wanted the downstairs stat moved, and he managed that difficult chore. It took a few minutes to install the upstairs, but more than an hour downstairs. We were pleased, but later found that the stats were worth about $60 apiece at retail, meaning we had been charged $372 for less than two hours of labor! I called and got the runaround, but later got a call from Rob McClintock, who said we were given the wrong stats and sent Jack to install much nicer ones (touchscreen, daily programs, etc). They retail $125, so we were hit for $242 labor, which still seems too high. Rob said the prices are very competitive and indeed they are. I would call McClintock again, because Rob proved he wants to do right by his customers.
