We tried a do-it-yourself thermostat installation to 'save money'. Unfortunately we missed a breaker when turning off the power to the system and shorted wires. Fan wouldn't come on. This was on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily not too cold. Called McClintock. They could send someone immediately but we chose to wait till Sunday afternoon. Service tech showed up right on time. We were frightened that our project would cost us a small fortune, but he changed out a fuse and installed the thermostat for less than $150! With us knowing nothing about the internal workings of our heating system, he could have told us anything was wrong and we'd have paid it just to get the system going again.

I've had them several times. Very punctual, good about coming the same day. I've been really happy with them.

The service that the McClintock team completed was a great end to an unfortunate issue. We purchased our home in September of 2007. Prior to closing, I had our old HVAC company inspect the HVAC gas pack unit at the house. I was told that the system was in excellent condition and I should not experience any issues with it. One cold morning in Mid Feb 2008 we awoke to a cold house with no heat. I called our old HVAC company who came out and said I had a bad heat exchanger which was rusted out and needed replacement, but also recomended we replace the unit because it was in such poor condition. Needless to say we were rather upset with them. I searched Angies list and contacted McClintock, who promptly had a tech out that same day. He confirmed the poor condition of our system, quoted a replacement unit as well as a repair option. The team was very professional and curtious. Fantastic experience and I highly recomend them.

They started precisely when they said they would, and finished reasonably close to when they said they would. Their workers took only short breaks and worked 8-4 each day. They were very professional and did quality work. I would recommend them to anyone.

They were out quickly, came after hours, did what they could, and they even called back the next day to check-up.

James was able to arrive 30 minutes earlier than I was quoted, which was great. We had called with a concern about the furnace, as we had noticed a burning smell upstairs that morning. He spent a considerable amount of time in the attic checking out the furnace. James discovered some plastic bags that had started to melt onto furnace, so he moved those away from the furnace area. Also, James recommended getting carbon monoxide detectors for both upstairs and downstairs. He recommended the "Night Hawk" brand, which comes with battery back-up and just plugs directly in the wall. Overall, James took his time and was very thorough. He answered any and all questions I had and was very knowledgeable.

Well. They were right on time and the technician found that the problem was with a switch on the a/c that had worn down leaving the a/c running all the time. Consequently the heat didn't have a chance to come on. After consulting with me, he fixed the switch since he had the part with him and we haven't had a problem since. Very happy with responsiveness, honesty, and price.

They are very trustworthy and very down to earth people. They do a good job and we will continue to use them.

McClintock's comfort consultant, Charles, was one of 5 Angie's List sales folks that I called. He was knowledgeable and McClintock's prices about in the middle of those estimates I received. Charles answered all my questions, and worked with me to get me the system that I needed for my home, not too much, not too little and not one that would be obsolete in a couple years when the laws around refrigerant change. The guys that handled the installation were on-time, professional, friendly and took care of everything. They left the house probably cleaner than they found it. I was working at home on the day of the installation and they took care to make sure I knew if the power would be cut as they made their connections. I would truly recommend these folks to my best friends.

I called in the morning and talked to the woman in their office, she was very pleasant and helpfully. She said they could have someone out to the house by the afternoon. The tech was out at the house by 2pm figured out the problem, replaced the part and was done in 30 minutes. He even asked if I had my Angie's List coupon to use which saved me $30.

They were really good. The sales person was very professional. They gave me a very reasonable price for a good quality furnace. They installed in a relatively quick time. They were very curious, prompt and tidy. They followed up to make sure everything was OK, which was very nice. I would recommend them.

They came and inspected the A/C unit, discovered that the unit was leaking, they fixed the leak, they performed the work and we did a yearly agreement.

Very well, they came as promised the next day. Very professional and determined the problem quickly.

Kevin Braswell was prompt, courteous, and very professional in repairing and servicing our failed Trane air conditioner. We've had other companies service our equipment before, however McClintock Heating & Cooling's service technician has by far surpassed any of the others with his attention to details and quality service we received from Kevin. Kevin was in contact with me prior to his scheduled appointment and was on time. He did a first class job from beginning to end and based on his initial efforts in resurrecting our neglected air conditioning system, I decided then that we would sign on to a service agreement.

As Charles had predicted, it wasn't optimal. A little too warm sometimes. Still, we got McClintock to confirm that the system was running as well as possible. I think we had half the company over checking things out; above and beyond. All that said and done, the humidity inside dropped significantly, so the house is livable even during 104 degrees outside. The unit is real quiet now; big improvement. Due to the fan always being on at a very low level, it's doing a great job of cleaning the air, given the amount of dust we find in the filter. (Low speed allows the dust to get caught instead of blowing straight through). We haven't had a chance to check the furnace yet. I'm sure it's going to be great! I would say the greatest endorsement came from the State furnace inspector. Once he saw that it was installed by McClintock, he said he knew the inspection would be a one-and-done; McClintock furnace installations always pass inspection the first time.

The salesman showed up exactly when he said he would. He looked at what needed to be done. The same day he emailed me a very professional proposal. After several phone calls from me he had answered all my questions and gave me all the info I needed. He then came back the next day for the signed proposal and a deposit. He couldn't have been nicer. They even arranged to have the work done on a Saturday, since Monday was a holiday. The installers were very professional and nice. The work was completed on time. The salesman showed up at the beginning and the end to make sure we were happy with the work. This company really defines customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They were the cheapest and the best proposal I got.

It went very well except that my printer was broken and they would not honor the Angie's List coupon without it being printed out even though I had mentioned it at the time of making the appointment. I didn't not realize that this was the case until it was time to write the check. Overall, it was a good experience except for that little coupon-gotcha.

My experience with McClintock was EXCEPTIONAL from the start. I can honestly say I have never dealt with a more professional and curious company. From the phone call to set up the appointment, to the calls to let me know James was on his way, to James' continued professionalism and politeness. I cannot say enough good things about James and the staff I dealt with at McClintock. Don't look any further than this company. If I ever have a problem in the future, I know that they will get my business!!!

Fantastic service! Called on a Saturday afternoon when temperature was 100 degrees, figured it would be a couple of days before I'd see anyone, but they returned my call within thirty minutes and were here within two to three hours. James explained everything he was doing and even gave me some pointers on inexpensive ways to mitigate issues with water heater and clothes washer lines. James was very friendly and made pals with our two year old son. Highly recommend McClintock.

My air conditioner was not cooling the house. I called on a Wednesday and they had someone out by Friday. It would have been a very long weekend without air conditioning. This was during our 100 plus degree temperatures. My unit is over twenty-one years old and probably on it's last breath. However, Kevin, the service man, was completely honest and said he would do everything to keep it running. Kevin cleaned and tested the unit, performed a tune-up and added three pounds of refrigerant. Kevin was very professional and I was very pleased with the work performed. It has been two weeks since the service and my house has been cool.

The engineer was mediocre. He was very point blank. I didn't feel extremely confident in what he was telling me.

Because I called during a heatwave, it took 4 days to get me on the schedule. There was some confusion about what time they would arrive on the scheduled day, and I ended up rushing home to meet them because they called to say they would be early, and then I ended up waiting for over an hour. The technician was great. He checked the system, cleaned it out and topped off the freon. There was no mention of purchasing a new unit, only of how to repair the current system - I appreciate people doing the job they are hired to do and not trying to convince me to spend more. The technician was knowledgeable, friendly, polite and fast working. He asked if I had an Angie's List coupon, and applied it on the spot.
