Description of Work: Beginning with the dispatcher I found this company and it's employees all to be very knowledgeable. It was a very busy day (the temperature was 9) and when I called I thought perhaps someone would come late in the day but they were at my home before lunch. The service tech was neat, clean and professional. He checked the entire system out before he told me what was needed. It was freon which a heat pump used to defrost the compressor when the temperature is so low it freezes. I certainly did not know that and he explained it all in language I understood. He left everything in my home as neat and clean as he found it and showed respect for my home.

Description of Work: Previously, I used a propane boiler system as a source of both potable hot water for my home and as a source of heat (the hot water circulated in a set of coils in the same air handler that provided the air conditioning). I also had a whole house air cleaner attached to the air handler. The system was under sized, getting very expensive due to the cost of propane, and getting relatively old (over 17 years). McClintock did a thorough load analysis and spent a significant amount of time learning what my needs were and what I wanted. My motivation/approach is always to spend what is necessary up front to get the most efficient, highest quality, flexible and durable equipment from a company that would stand behind it's work and provide the highest levels of ongoing service. Savings always come over the years. We ended up using all TRANE equipment, starting with their high end heat pump - a 19 SEER unit that holds within it both a 2 ton and a separate 4 ton compressor that are both over 95% efficient. The advantage is that when the two ton unit can do the job, winter or summer, that's all I'm paying for until and unless the four ton is needed etc. This HeatPump is a "dual fuel hybrid" system, meaning that when heat is needed the compressors work the same way in reverse, but when the outside temperature is below a certain level that I set (I have it currently at 40 deg) then a high efficiency (96% AFUE) 2 stage variable speed propane furnace clicks in (I can also turn on this furnace at the thermostats). I have also incorporated a "whole house" air cleaner, which purportedly removes particles down to one micron, which includes most bacteria and viruses etc. The whole system is zoned (three zones, three wireless Honeywell thermostats) with a wireless remote control, so I can control the entire house from single location, and program each zone into four time blocks at different temperatures during the day. This system qualifies us as a "Green" house, and we will receive a $1,100 rebate from TRANE and qualify for either a $200 or $300 IRS Tax CREDIT in 2009. The TRANE equipment carries a 10 year parts and labor warranty and the furnace heat exchanger has a lifetime warranty. We obviously haven't had to use the AC yet, but we couldn't be happier with the heating system, the zoning, the air cleaner (my wife has bad allergies). We also don't have enough history with the system to report on cost savings, but so far that looks very good too. We hope, within a year or so, to replace the boiler with a more current system that I am just learning about that can be programmed to produce hot water just during the times of the day that it is most used, although you are clearly not limited to just those times.

Description of Work: We had a new Trane air conditioner installed with a two-zone system to help with heating/cooling the second floor. We also had the attic re-blown with insulation at the same time.

Description of Work: Had A/C unit inspected & checked for problem with cooling. Found that system was fine, except for possibly small coolant leak, which could not be located without extensive labor.

Description of Work: I purchased a system from them last year and they completed a service appt. to prepare for the cold weather.
