The guy was helpful and went through my options with me. He tried to locate the leak around the unit and then checked the coil in the attic. Overall I was pleased, but I have nothing to compare them to, since this is my first home and my first problem with the AC.

I signed up for the spring/fall tune up service McClintock provides. John came out and was actually about 10 minutes early which was nice. He got right to work, was very pleasant the whole time, found a couple things wrong and fixed them. He took the time to show me what he was fixing and why. A capacitor was also testing low so he put in a new one. That afternoon, I noticed a little bit of water on the outside unit and was worried. I called McClintock at 4:00 to express my concern and they sent John back out right away. Turns out the water was just a little condensation from the unit and he assured me everything was ok. He went upstairs to the attic to double check everything and he was on his way. They also called me the next day to check in with me. Overall, a very professional and courteous company. I felt comfortable the whole time and would use them again.

I contacted McClintock looking for someone who could come out to my house same day at 6:00PM. Rob McClintock promptly answered my email and scheduled a technician to come to our house at the time we requested. The technician, Frank Lopez, showed up on time as promised. Frank was friendly and very thorough - he went through our entire HVAC system step by step and explained everything in an easy to understand way. Frank earned our trust and confidence and we purchased a semi-annual maintenance plan from McClintock.

I called and was promised someone would be out tomorrow morning -- a couple hours later they called back and said, how would today work (at tomorrow's price). The tech came out - arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem and had our house cooler in no time!! First class company, service and technician.

Our old, if you can consider 7 years old, builder grade central A/C finally gave out. Having used two other A/C repair companies over the past 7 years to maintain our system I had lost my confidence in their knowledge and ability to service it. Both companies gave me quotes of $2,000 just to replace the coil unit but that gave us no guarantee of solving the problem. After spending $1,400 last year just to keep the system going I looked to Angie's List for help. McClintock's rating seemed to be over the top but I now know why. From the moment I met Randy he put my mind at ease. He was extremely knowledgeable and confident that the two story damper system we have in our house would not be an issue. The other companies said the best solution was to replace the damper system with two separate systems at a cost of around $20,000. Randy inspected the entire house, carefully using a diagram of the floor plan and noting window placement. He calculated three solutions for us, all at different price points. We decided to go with the top of the line system Randy suggested. This price included a new furnace as well as A/C. This Trane system gave us a variable speed fan. The best part about this new system is how quiet it is. Not only is the compressor outside quiet enough to sit near and still have a conversation but the damper system no longer slams open and shut. We are amazed. I also cannot say enough about the team that installed the system. Paul, Steve, and Ryan worked on Memorial Day! It was a brutally hot day in the attic but they we determined to get cool air flowing into the house so we could sleep. They were on time and organized. They were careful to keep the house clean while they worked. Mr. McClintock, President of the company, even stop by to inspect the work. How often do you see that? The installation was completed in two days, as planned. Kimberly arranged for the county to inspect the electrical and HVAC and it passed with no issues. One more praise for attention to detail goes out to Brian, the Production Manager. He called me the day of the inspection and said he would deliver a ladder for the inspectors to use since we don't have attic stairs. I told him a had a ladder so there was no need for him to bring one. But that just shows you the detail of work and high level of service that McClintock provides. A technician came back one week after the installation to see if any final adjustments were needed and everything checked out fine. We are now cool and comfortable and have no more worries when we walk into the house and wonder, will the A/C still be working? We have a Trane and it was installed by the best team in the business! . There was a Freon leak. The frankness in detail about what my options were in getting it repaired or how to fix it. Usually when air-conditioner of that age starts leaking Freon it stops cooling you can check whether additional Freon would take care of it or leak out again and need to be either replaced or more detailed repairs done. Instead of going directly into the more detailed repairs done he went ahead and gave me the option of adding the Freon and waiting a year and seeing how it works. If it ever going to have the same problem the next season then we would have to do a more detailed repair. I would use them in the future.

McClintock's repairman arrived on time, early in the morning, removed all the torn-up insulation, made repairs, and replaced with new insulation. At the end of a very hard day's work, he emerged, covered in orange clay (from the crawlspace) and cheerfully announced: "You will see a big difference in your heating and cooling bills." He did an outstanding job. I found out about McClintock Heating, Cooling & Electrical, Inc. on Angie's List. My husband and I are delighted with all aspects of their work. McClintock is the best!

The upstairs AC had uncooled air and weak air flow at vents. First visit in April resulted in replacement of capacitor which brought back the cooled air. We RARELY use the upstairs rooms, plus the weather in April and May was quite cool so we only asked for a revisit in early June since the airlfow was still just a weak trickle. When I called to have a technician return to finish the original problem, I was warned several times that the problem could be somthing new which would result in additional "diagnostic" charges. The technician went outside to check the unit, then returned to tell me that the coils were covered with cottonwood seeds and that he already cleaned them - no charge since he had not told me first. He said the refrigerant was low and leaking and told me repeatedly that all this was causing my problem. His findings were simple and easy to understand so I was suspicious as to why he felt he needed to explain them over and over. When I questioned why the first technician couldn't see the dirty coils and the low refrigerant, he could only shrug his shoulders and suggest the coils weren't dirty in April and the refrigerant wasn't leaking then. I argued that the coils had never been cleaned in the 5 years we have been here yet cottonwood seeds float en masse every year. He had no answer. Then, after being on the phone in his truck, he produced the bill which showed a charge of $84 for cleaning the coils; a charge of $129 for "diagnostic" labor which in April was $89; and a charge of $79 for one pound of refrigerant although he claimed he had given me ".....probably two pounds. " I was perplexed as to why he would claim to charge me less. After questioning the bill, he did reduce the "diagnostics" to $89 even though he claimed there had been a recent increase in what he now termed "trip" charge. He couldn't explain why the fee was bumped up 50%. Needless to say, I am quite skeptical of the different findings by the two technicians, the convenient "new" problem for the air flow so that the "trip" charge could be justified, and why the first technician didn't do a more thorough check to insure the unit was working and cooling optimally. I had read favorable reports for this company and felt confident about calling them - it is the first time I have been disappointed with my choice of any company on Angies List.

A/C unit quit working, thought it was the capacitor as usual, but after I changed that - still nothing. Went and inspected the blower unit and it appeared to not have power. Called McClintock and a tech was out to our house within a few hours. Tech performed a thorough inspection and found a melted wire nut connector which had then caused the safety short. Repaired and we once again had A/C. Prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. We are already a repeat customer and will continue to call McClintock for our HVAC needs. Thanks!

I have been trying to get a hold of this company to get a heat pump replaced. I have been trying to get a hold of them to get a replacement under warranty. I finally got a hold of them, they told me that they are no longer working on residential and to call a different company. I had a few small issue this company in the past and I feel like they are giving me the run around due to some small issues that I had with them. I just want the warranty replacement for my heat pump that they installed a few years ago.

After the first contractor installed a new heatpump in Aug, 2010 it never worked correctly. He came back in Jan and it still was not right. I called McClintock Heating and they came out the next day, inspected the installation and reported that it had been installed incorrectly and had not been inspected by the city because the first contractor did not get a permit. The owner come out the next day and gave me a quote for the work and explained what needed to be done. The crew returned two days later, reinstalled the unit, correctly reinstalled the wiring and duct work, and refilled the coolant correctly. The crew spervisor visited my home to see how the work was progressing during the day. I was very impressed with their professionalism. The crew supervisor visited my home during the day to see the progress and if there were any problems.They were very punctual, honest, friendly, and clean. I was very impressed with their professionalism. I will continue to have them annually inspect the system.

The sales rep and the installation team were excellent. They were punctual, efficient and very thorough in their work. We are very satisfied with the products and the service.

These folks were hard to deal with and inconsistent.. They wanted to check my Heating at the end of Winter (not in fall when I needed it) and my A/C at the end of Summer (not in spring when I needed it). Their Service Techs would blame their previous Service Techs for poor work.

I use McClintock for all of my A/C service needs. The service person was punctual, very informative, courteous and professional. He gave me lots of tips on things I can do to keep my system in good shape, which is important b/c it is getting close to needing replacement. Great experience overall!

They were fine. They showed up on time. I will not use them in the future. I had some other stuff to be done and I figured that that they were a kind of high.

It was great...heat died, and the gentleman came, found the problem, fixed it right away, informed me another unit wasn't working properly, showed me all the details, explained exactly what the issues were. I opted to get all units cleaned, which is why the cost is higher...it was a maintenance and service option since we have lived here a few years and never had heating or cooling units cleaned. The services for the stuff that was fixed was under $200. They were really polite and explained everything. I thought they were really professional.

Their install technicians were great, I myself am a detail oriented person (really over the top) & they satisfied me. Randy, the sales agent made sure I was aware of all the rebates from the utility companies-- other companies that quoted the job did not even mention this. Bob the owner of the company even stoped by during the install to check things out, how often does that happend. thanks guys for a job qwell done! PD

The contractor sales person was excellent. He spent a couple hours explaining every aspect of the job. This included pictures that he took in the crawl space to explain some recommended duct work changes. He gave us detailed imformation on the new equipment and recommended upgrades to improve air quality. Product brochures were provided for us and detailed pricing on all options. We chose to go ahead with this contractor. The dismantling and removal of the old unit and the installation of the new one went well and without incident. The workmen were friendly and courteous. They were well trained and skilled at their trade. The work site was cleaned up at the end of each day. Due to inclement weather the installation site was covered with a tent the first night. We are very pleased with our new HVAC installation and will continue to use this company for our HVAC maintenance needs. We would certainly recommend them to anyone needing a new HVAC unit or for maintenance on an existing unit.

They came out and fixed the problem. It turned out that the timing needed to be reset. They inspected it and reset it. I was able to use an angie's list credit. I felt that it was a very reasonable price. They were very responsive and did what they said what they were going to do. Overall we were very happy.

Charles came out to give me a quote. Of the 3 companies that gave me quotes (all highly rated on Angie's List), he was the only one that came back to present the quote in person. He actually scheduled an appointment to come to my work office to present and discuss the quote. He was a great salesman and sold me on McClintock without any pressure. Work started on schedule and McClintock had great communication. I was called by the office to confirm all stages of work and for the county inspections, too. When work was completed, they scheduled a tech to come by and review the systems with me. Overall, they did a great job. I would definitely use them again. You should too!

Came on a Thursday night & back again Fri to investigate & quote replacement. Done by Monday with some shuffling around so we would have heat to move in the following day. Excellent responsiveness, customer service (Randy) is outstanding. Thorough, clean, professional. We bid the job to several companies and our contractor advised us to use McClintock as they said they have seen it all & they are the best. More expensive than some others but quality and service make up for it.
