McClintock Heating & Cooling

If there was an A+ rating on Angie's List, McClintock would receive one! Air conditioner broke on the weekend, and unfortunately, we needed a new compressor. McClintock was responsive, professional, and took the time to educate us on all of the steps of the repair and service. Excellent field and office team. I would definitely use them again!

First, I want to state that I am a tough customer to please. That being said, McClintock not only satisfied my expectations, but exceeded them. I was completely blown away. From the bid process to the final inspection, everything was A+. The salesman Charles arrived on time and was a complete professional. He listened to the issues we had and made some recommendations. We received a typed out bid, listing all the work to be done. Everything was itemized and parts listed- only Trane by the way. Which is only what we wanted. He recommended the dual fuel option, which costs more, but definitely worth the extra expense. He also made some tweaks to coil, etc that have really blown us away. I have to say we have the Cadillac model. He was upfront, honest, and a pleasure to work with. Installation- once paperwork was signed, we received a call from the office to schedule the installation and installation audit with Brian. I don?t know of any other company that comes out before work begins to address any concerns and prepare the installation team for the job ahead of them. The installation team arrived on time, worked hard, and installed a heck of a system. It required extra metal work and they added an extra return in my house at no extra charge. Ryan and the install guys were concerned with making sure we were going to be happy and the new system would perform. This was a big job, they worked late Friday night to ensure we would have heat. Another thing to note, they had to install a new flue pipe, which was white PVC. Ryan painted to match our roof then continued to paint all the other vents to match, even though he didn?t have too. They cleaned up, swept, and make sure everything was right before they left. Charles, the salesman, also stopped by frequently to make sure there were no issues. I do want to mention that I did have an issue with the heat pump the next afternoon. Turns out a wire had come undone behind the thermostat. Let me just say that McClintock was on top of it. Monday, we had Tommy at the house to fix the issue. Then Wes, the service manager, came out behind to make sure everything was hooked up and running correctly. System- this new system is incredible. My house is actually warm and cold now. We got to test out the new heat pump/furnace briefly and it worked flawlessly- HOT air coming out of vents. Now we are running the AC is the house is freezing. I want everyone to read about my experience. It is rare to find a company to go above and beyond and install quality equipment like Trane. We are completely satisfied with the entire process- complete turnkey- for once I didn?t have to be on top of them. I can?t recommend McClintock enough and look no further- they are the best!!

Everything went as expected. My serviceman found no issues that needed immediate attention. He was very informative and seemed knowledgeable. The service was stellar. I had him come and do a tune-up and inspection of my ac system.

Brandon was the rep who showed up and performed the work. He did a great job explaining everything to me on my new house. This was the first time I have had an inspection on the HVAC since buying the house. I am on the yearly maintenance program and glad I chose this company to perform the work.

We had them out a couple of years back to replace the heater (they did a great job and we recommend them to friends) and since our house is fairly old, we knew the a/c was next and that McClintock was the company to call. Charles gave us the estimate and all the information we would need to make our decision. A couple of days later one of the technicians (Brian?) was out to measure and make sure they had everything planned out. On 2/29/12 the team was here bright and early and everything seemed to go well. They were friendly and I could tell the crew worked well together. We are really glad to have our new air conditioner in time for a North Carolina summer!

I called due to a periodic recurring problem with the heat not coming on when the thermostat went below the set temp. The customer service rep indicated that they would have difficulty diagnosing/resolving the issue if it wasn't happening when they were there, so a diagnostic visit might be wasted money. Knowing that I hadn't had the unit serviced in a number of years, I asked about a servicing visit. She explained their pricing for one visit vs their annual maintenance program and I opted for the annual maintenance package (so that I could also get the A/C serviced less expensively later in the year). The technician arrived as scheduled and performed a thorough inspection of the heating system along with routine maintenance. In the course of the visit, he found and cleaned out some debris that may have been causing the problem. (It hasn't happened since.) He suggested replacing the thermostat with a more reliable brand and said he could install it on our next visit, but also gave us instructions on how to install it if we wanted to do it ourselves. We were very pleased with the whole experience.

Our furnace broke on a Sunday night and I waited until the morning to call for an appointment. I called at 8am and the scheduler/dispatcher was friendly and helpful. I was told that a technician would be able to come out between 11am-2pm. Since I was at work, I told the dispatcher that it would take about 30 minutes to get home so she agreed to call me 30 minutes before the tech arrived. Just like she said, I was called 30 minutes before the tech arrived (shortly after 11am). The tech arrived and immediately diagnosed our broken igniter. He spent the time to explain how the furnace worked and what he was looking out for during the diagnostic tests (which we used an Angie's Big Deal coupon to get a $40 discount). He had an igniter in his van and replaced and tested the system within the hour. He was out by noon, which was great to get our heat back so quickly and for the tech to be so punctual and responsive. We would use them again and we are considering them for an annual maintenance plan.

They were one of several companies I called. I liked the product and presentation they made. Very satisfied with the unit they installed and the preventative maintenance they provide.

They've done an outstandnig job replacing all of our ductwork. They are extremely professional. They were here for a week and after that I felt like they were family. Charles Gravely and Rob McClintock are top professionals. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Our technician took great repair in servicing our system and spent much more time than our previous service provider. He also provided recommendations, but in a friendly manner rather than "sales style."

They are very good. If there is a need, I would use them again in the future too.

I couldn't believe how professional they were. They were very nice and tidy. The workers kept my house clean while there were here. The owner of the company even came out to meet me since I was a new customer. I was very impressed! They have been very diligent with their follow ups. The office workers are also exceptional. They are very friendly, professional, and kind. All my experiences with them have been great.

The service rep that came out was great! I was having difficulty accessing the filter to change it so he made an access door for me while he was there to do the semi-annual check. GREAT!

I'm 100% Engineer and 50% German and for me, quality and pride in workmanship is job one. I try to do most work around the house myself, because I know when I do it, I will either do it right or I will make a mistake, learn from it, and then do it right (and not just cover it up). It is my house/property and I take pride in what I do and in what I own. And, the last time I checked, unfortunately, I'm still not a millionaire, so I also look for the best bang for my buck. As most people know, and these are probably the main reasons that Angie's List exists, there are so many workers/contractors out there that either have no idea what they are doing or don't care about quality workmanship - they're happy to take your hard-earned money and perform substandard work. For me, I've worked very hard for what I have...and I expect when I spend that money that the people providing services for me should do the same thing. And I have to say that I am extremely happy that I found that in McClintock. The sales guy that I worked with both times, Randy Race, is very fair, intelligent, and honest. In my opinion, he went above and beyond to help me get the best value for the work that was performed. I have a personal situation at home that requires that I have clean air - as clean as possible - and Randy and the McClintock gang made sure to meet my timelines/deadlines for getting work done while my wife was in the hospital and gave me a very fair price in return. I can't thank you enough, Randy and Mr. McClintock, for giving me a very reasonable price for this work that I really needed to have done for health reasons for my wife...you made my life a lot easier and you have made her life much healthier!!! The guys doing the installation were the same team both times (Joel and Brandon) and they did an outstanding job both times. They showed up on time and were very friendly and professional (and fast!) No mess what-so-ever after they were done. I'm so happy with the quality of work they performed. And believe me when I say that I went down every night after I got home from work into the crawl space to see/monitor what they had done. I've spent (probably too many) hours in my crawl investigating what I have and what needs to be fixed/repaired and to see what I had before vs. now - it is night and day. Thank you Joel and Brandon for your hard and good, quality workmanship!!! I have worked with Wes (and subsequently Rick) a few times to fix some problems that I had with my system. The knowledge, experience, and common sense that they have shown are top rate. I recently installed a new thermostat and EIM and ran into a problem that I couldn't diagnose (furnace fuse blew when I tried to fire it up for the first time) and then I ran out of time to continue working on the problem. After a few calls/discussions with both Wes and Rick, Rick came onsite and found an intermittent short in one of the sensor cables, replaced it and everything has hummed since. That short was not visibly detectable and only occurred when you slightly bent one part of the wire (bad manufacturing). This may seem odd, but I actually am looking forward to the next problem/challenge to occur so I'll get an opportunity to work through it with them again. For everyone reading this who just wants their problems fixed, rest assured - you are not required to participate! Additionally, Wes made himself available for me to call and ask questions to help me with the installation work I did myself. Who does that anymore?!? I'll tell you who - Wes and the McClintock team. Thank you Wes and Rick!! In my honest opinion, McClintock has the best HVAC sales, installation, and service teams I have ever worked with. You can't pay for common sense, fairness, and skill and these guys consistently have it in abundance. I have a yearly maintenance contract with them and will continue that in the years to come. Having an annual contract makes sense for me and is good business for McClintock as well.

I was having trouble getting a company to come out on the weekend and fix my broken thermostat. So, I called McClintock's after hours emergency number on Saturday morning. A technician called me back within 10 minutes. We discussed a few simple things to check (e.g. batteries, breaker box) to save us a weekend visit and when those things didn't work we coordinated a convenient time for him to work on our system. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, and spent sufficient time explaining and answering our questions. We had heat by early afternoon the same day. I will be using McClintock's from now on!

Overall I would rate my experience with McClintock Heating Cooking & Electrical a "C". They initially did a good job. But later I found that they did not inspect a wire on the condensation pump. The next day the heating/AC unit malfunctioned and destroyed my kitchen floor. I was not a happy camper! They did not take responsibility for the accident when I felt that they should have. I will not use them again in the future.

I found them on Angie's List. They were very good. I was very satisfied with their work. They were capable of doing the work. I had the impression that they knew what they were doing. They were very polite and very educative. They were very good. They are not only good at the in-house service, but also good at the back office stuff like the billing and stuff. I really enjoyed working with them. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I found McClintock on Angie's List and called them initially on January 3rd - they made an appointment to come out that day. I ended up cancelling as I thought it was fixed, but ended up having to reschedule the next day. They came promptly, found the problem and resolved it quickly. When we asked if they would mind installing the thermostat, he said no problem and did it for no charge. Overall very positive experience!

We've had a service agreement with McClintock for several years now. They have done a wonderful job keeping our older system in good working order and our furnace lasted 19 years. With the price to repair finally unjustifiable, we decided to replace it. The salesman, Randy Race, came to our home and showed us all our options, explaining the benefits and downsides to each system. We chose an energy star variable speed furnace, knowing that long term it would be our best option. McClintock was able to install it less than 48 hours after we ordered it. The installers, Ryan and Harry, were on time, friendly, and efficient. Ryan, especially, went out of him way to answer all my questions and keep me up to date on the progress. Rob McClintock, the owner stopped by to check on the work as well as Brian the installation manager. I have always been impressed with all the McClintock staff. They are honest, hard working reliable and friendly. Their prices are fair and their service cannot be beat. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

*I called McClintock in the morning and they said they thought a serviceman would free up by the end of the day and they would call me when he was available to head over *By 4pm I hadn't heard so I called back and they said I was next on the list *The serviceman showed up on time and he was very professional and polite; he only needed 30 minutes and gave a good explanation once he figured it out *At the end our bill was $89 for the diagnostic visit; I told the repairman that I had an Angie's List coupon for $49 and he said to just buy it online and the office will automatically get the notice that we have paid. *The visit was quick and he was professional and I was pleased with McClintock's service. I will definitely use them again.

Its easy to see why Mcclintock has such great reviews on Angies List. In addition to the great price from the Angies Big Deal, the service was outstanding. The technician explained the benefits of changing out my existing thermostat and also connected my common lead so i didn't have to change batteries going forward. I highly recommend these guys to anyone.

They were really prompt. We really liked their website for scheduling appointments. They showed their free times and we could just click on a time and they would confirm it by email. It was really nice because I was doing it during the middle of the night after business hours. It was really easy and convenient. The service was great. The guy was prompt and on time. They were respectful of our house. My husband is kind of a design geek and he really liked their logo and signage on their van. He was very impressed with them because it looked very nice and professional. Their prices were competitive. They were very professional and we would use them again.

I appreciated the knowledge and skill of the installer. The company kept their time table and called to verify the site technician arrived. I didn't enjoy that at every step I spoke to a different person. Scheduler, estimate person, technition, specialist to recommend solutions....in the end some of the information I discussed with various associates were lost and that was frustraiting.

I think they are on Angie's List. They did a really awesome job. I spent $6000 to $8000 because it was a brand new unit. I liked their professionalism and their promptness. Their overall service was good. Everything is fine. There are no complications and I would definitely recommend them. I would use them again in the future if need be.
