I was very pleased with the services I received. He was a little late in getting there but it was due to traffic coming from Charlotte on the interstate, not a big deal, only 30 mins after I expected him. When the serviceman showed up he was very friendly. He asked to see the unit and got to work. Once he was able to override the inside system and saw that the unit functioned correctly he went inside to diagnose the problem. He quickly determined that my thermostat was bad. I told him I would replace it and walked me thru what wires would go where in the one he recommended. We chatted a few minutes about our families and he left. But his professional services did not end there. Before leaving he told me to call if I had any issues installing the thermostat. I bought the brand that he recommended and started to install only to realize that some of my wiring did not match up. After looking on the internet and playing with it I finally got it to work appropriately. But on Monday I called to talk to him to verify what I had done and if I had programmed it correctly to the rating of my heatpump. The serviceman once again spent about 15 to 20 mins of unpaid time, by myself, to walk me through what wire color went where and how to properly program it. I will soon be in need of a new unit...they may have just got a new customer for life.

I was looking forward to having a new system but was not looking forward to finding a contractor and having the actual physical work done. However, McClintock made the whole process easy from start to finish, from the first phone call to the office to set up an appointment for an estimate to the follow up appointment to make certain everything was operating correctly. Everyone connected with McClintock is knowledgeable and customer service oriented. The consultant was able to explain my different options and deliver a professional estimate at our initial appointment. After experience with two different companies, I decided immediately to go with McClintock based on their estimate and their rating on Angie's List and they have proven this was a great decision. An installation date was set and the project manager visited ahead of time to make certain the installation would go smoothly. The installers were prompt and courteous and so helpful. The installation was finished in the stated time and for the stated price and the consultant even returned to teach me how to program and use the thermostat. McClintock will return within 30 days and again in 6 months to ensure that all is operating smoothly. Both the Trane system and the McClintock team, especially the McClintock team, have exceeded my expectations and McClintock has re-defined customer service.

The whole process from the estimate through the installation was handled with complete professionalism, but I never felt like just another customer. The salesman and installation mechanics were all concerned with our happiness with the installation. It was a pleasant process from beginning to end.

Emailed McClintock to get an estimate for a new a/c system. Their website claims to give free estimates. Tassie replied to schedule an appointment. I confirmed that it would be a free estimate and she said yes with another company's written estimate. At that time, I didnt have a written estimate and she said sorry, I need to have one. I replied that I was surprisedthat they wouldn't give a free estimate and she said they do in NC but not in SC! So I finally said never mind, that I would go with another company. She just replied with "Sorry, thanks."

They made some recommendations for some changes that needed to be made on my AC unit.

We had a Diagnostic coupon from Angies List. However, we believed that the diagnostic charge would be deducted from the final bill when the service was performed. We called for feon service, since we knew what we needed. However, we were told that since were used an Angies List coupon that the diagnostic charge would not be taken off the service bill, even though the coupon said that it would be deducted if the work were performed. We felt that we paid additional charges because we used the Angies List coupon; that we would have paid less if we hadn't used the coupon. However, they provided fast, professional services.

The service went well overall. They were able to come out in a timely manner and were very professional and honest in their diagnosis.

We had a guy from another company come out (he was sent by our warranty company) and I just wasn't crazy about him. He did not check for leaks just refilled the freon and gave a quote for replacement of the whole thing. Frustrated with that, I found McClintock on here. Guy came out within a day or so. Immediately checked for leaks (my dad is an amazing electrician in another state who has worked with AC people for years and said that this should have been the FIRST thing the other guy did, so I was relieved that McClintock did this without me even saying so.) He found the leak immediately. It was inside in the coil (which is where he thought it would be.) He even checked outside after finding the leak inside just to be sure. I wanted to know the age of my unit (to know when it should be replaced) and he looked it up for me. I am a 20 something stay at home mom in our first house. I am very very naive when it comes to stuff like this. He walked me through STEP BY STEP on each of the parts and how they work and how you really do not have to replace the whole unit at once. Which we did not have to! I was SO relieved. He was AMAZING. The same guy that diagnosed it, replaced it a few weeks later (the coil) so I was relieved to see a familiar face. When we called just to check and see how long it would be to get the unit installed since the freon was low again (Stay at Home Mom with a baby, remember?) They said they would be out SAME DAY to refill it for FREE. Now, I understand they only did this because we were all ready to go just waiting on the part. So it was them holding us up but they did NOT have to do that. After that, I swore I would stay for life. And my dad (the electrician with 30 something years experience) also said this was a rare and amazing quality. Another thing that initially made me choose McClintock is when someone writes a bad review they go in and explain what happened in their words. To me that shows they care immensely about their company, name, and product. I wish every company had these standards!

Excellent service from start to finish. Unfortunately due to McClintock's installation schedule we had to wait about a week and a half for our install. However, in the interim Randy Race installed 3 window units to reduce the humidity in our home and create as comfortable an environment as possible. When the installation occurred, it was done quickly and professionally. The worksite was cleaned up at the end of each day. We were so happy with McClintock that we are using them again (yes, less than a month later!) to install a mini-split system in an addition to our home. McClintock was not the least expensive option, but having had a bad experience previously we were willing to spend a little more to make sure it gets done right the first time.

We have a maintenance agreement with McClintock. They came out in the spring and performed the spring maintenance on our upstairs and downstairs AC units. We have had a leak coming from the primary overflow in the upstairs unit for over a year. When they performed the maintenance, they blew the line but did not clear it out completely. We noticed our house was turning green due to the constant drip and another company saw it and told us the maintenance wasn't performed correctly. We called McClintock on 8/27 to inquire about what is work should be performed under the maintenance plan. The receptionist gave us the standard list and told my husband that it would be $89 diagnostic fee plus labor to come back and clean the line. My husband told her that was unacceptable since the work wasn't performed right to begin with. We told her we'd finish out our agreement with them and look elsewhere. On 8/28 and this morning, Wes called to see if he could send someone out to clear the line properly for us and he would wave the diagnostic fee. We agreed and Danny was here in less than an hour. Danny cleared the line, insulated the pipe and installed a new "T out" on our unit. He thought he smelled gas so he checked the unit for gas leaks and tightened the line going to the pilot light since our unit is very old as an extra precaution.After all the work was completed, he told us Wes had asked him not to charge us to make sure we were satisfied. We will definitely renew our agreement in the spring.

Great!! The workman were so very polite, efficient, answered all questions and were totally reliable.

Very friendly and helpful from my initial contact in scheduling an appointment to speaking with the dispatch person and the technician who did the work. Very timely response meaning same day, cost was reasonable, and the technician was both professional as well as patient in answering questions. Highly recommend !!!

I have two units with the contract. They check everything out and make sure it's working. Any extra work or parts are the extra charge. The have extra charges for weekend and evening work so that's the one drawback.

All the positive reviews for this company on accurate. They are professional, straightforward and honest. I met with 6 companies, from the small independent dealer to the bigger companies with radio jingles. The McClintock estimate was slightly higher than the lower end estimates, but very competitive. Based on the positive reviews, I was expecting it to be higher. Based on the positive reviews from Angies list and my experience with the sales process, it felt like a no brainer to go with these guys. Also, most of the other bidders tried to up sell me other services/products while they were bidding and also talked negatively about their competitors. McClintock didnt do that, which to me was another positive signal. One other thing I learned while doing research was that most all brands of AC units are the same, and it comes down to the quality of the installation.

I purchased a $69.00 diagnostic check out of my 2nd floor HVAC unit. They stated the unit was low on Freon and could identify the source of the leak for an additional $199. I paid the additional fee and the leak was identified in approximately 10 minutes with a gas sniffing device. McClintock?s Technicians are well trained, so that?s why I call them.

The service provider was responsive and professional, and helped to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

It was the first time I had used them. I ended up putting a whole new system in after they recharged the old system.

I saw their Angie's List $35 off coupon in the monthly magazine,reviewed their ratings on the list (A-rated), and recommended them to my daughter, whose central air conditioning had not been cooling properly for a year (!). She called them ,& I volunteered to meet them at her condo (since she couldn't get off work when they were available). Their worker called me to confirm our meeting, and arrived on time.He was polite, neat, and explained the problem (small leak had caused the unit to lose freon.). He answered all my questions and explained the options & their costs. We agreed that adding the freon was the least expensive solution by far,since he could find no visible leak so expected it was probably in the coil (he said most are) & replacing that would run in the thousands of dollars.

We found them on Angie’s List. They had good grades and I really liked them. We did shop around and price wise, they were lower. The price was excellent and the quality was good. In terms of their punctuality, it just took them one day.

The estimate was made and work scheduled very quickly afterwards. The office staff, estimator, installers and job foreman listened to my needs and were responsive to the challenges of installing new furnace and air conditioning in our 70 year old house. The estimate was exactly what the finished bill was in spite of challenges encountered during the installation due to the age of the electrical wiring to the replaced units. Everyone at McClintock was professional and I highly recommend them!

They talked me into buying it but, it's really good. My overall experience with them was excellent.

He was very professional and very quick to come out to my house. They were cordial, did not push me to buy a more expensive unit, only needed the basic. They listened to what I had to say and even moved my compressor for me to a better location.
