They are excellent. During the installation Mr. McClintock came and looked over the work. The website had profiles and backgrounds of all their technicians. They were johnny on the spot. The people who did the work were competent and it is obvious it is a well-run business. They were professional and paid attention to detail.

I was so impressed with all of the employees that were involved with the installation of my new Trane furnace. Randy was the initial contact, and was so thorough in explaining the details involved with the installation of the new furnace. I have chemical sensitivities, so was very concerned about products/chemicals that could cause problems for the air quality for me with a new furnace. We were able to come up with a good plan making some changes to the usual installation process. Water based mastic was used, along with aluminum tape. We had the metal boxes that attach to each side of the furnace delivered to our house several days before installation. My husband cleaned the metal boxes to remove the factory applied oils. The metal boxes were wrapped on the outside with insulation, so that the air flow through the boxes was a totally clean space with no chemicals or materials inside that would get into my indoor air. Because of these measures taken, the installation ended up being very successful for me, and the good air quality of my home remained intact. I'm really grateful that Randy was the person sent for the initial evaluation, as he is the one who took the time to answer all my questions, and worked with me to come up with an installation plan that could accommodate the special needs for chemical sensitivity. Then he made sure that everybody involved with the project understood the plan, so installation would be done correctly. Highly recommend this company.

This was a major project carefully planned by Mr. McClintock and his excellent crew. The installation was over a two day period; day one for the removal and day two for the installation. Removal is difficult and crew comes in fresh the next day for the install. Smart thinking! All members of crew worked hard and did a great job. Especially the crew leader "Tino." The end product was a work of art. What a nice installation. These are skilled craftsmen who obviously take pride in their work. Follow up has been great. Mr. McClintock personally walked through to make sure the job was done to his high standard. Other crew members have also followed up to make sure everything was right. A couple of small adjustments needed to be made over the last three months and they were right on top of it. "Darren" took care of the inspection for the gas furnace before we started using it this fall. Also inspected the AC. Excellent tech. (Even if you don't need a new system, get McClintock to do your service. His tech guys are great!) We have a bad mosquito infestation in our neighborhood and Mr. McClintock improvised a tarp to cover the garage door while the crew worked, preventing any problem from the pesky critters getting in the house. Darn clever. They really cared about our personal comfort and convenience and tried their absolute best not to be disturbing anyone or anything while they were there. The clean up after the job did not leave a trace. Inside and out were clean as a whistle. The systems work great. The AC is the coolest I've ever had. It took setting on 68 like a champ; you could hang beef in the house it got so cold! The gas furnace is very efficient and does a great job of heating the house. I love the new digital thermostat. It is very accurate. No surprises. From the first walk through, estimate and installation, everything was carefully planned and executed by professional HVAC technicians, I highly recommend McClintock for any HVAC service you may need. I talked to several companies before hiring Mr. McClintock. His professionalism and attention to detail won me over. Every member of his team also impressed me with their skill and knowledge of HVAC. And on top of it all, they were friendly and polite!

Repaired A/C unit. Went above and beyond to help us get it repaired during blistering heat.

This was one of two companies I contacted. I chose the other company, which provided an equivalent system with a better warranty for a lower price. This company's estimator tried to push me into buying a more expensive (but more efficient) system and sent a chart showing considerable cost savings over time with that system ? but when I checked the utility costs used for the calculations, I found they didn't match well with local costs; when I adjusted for the correct figures, the savings were pretty small and didn't justify the cost of the more expensive system. This company also sent a list showing how their failure rate (from county inspections) is lower than their competitors ? but that list didn't include the company I chose, and the other company's failure rate was lower. The other company also spelled out everything up front much better. Wasn't impressed with McClintock.

I have been a McClintock customer for several years. They always do a great job. I have special needs with chemical sensitivity, so to have a company that knows they can't use the normal chemicals to clean and service my system and is willing to think outside the box to meet my needs goes a long way with me. Danny is my technician. He knows the requirements I have when he comes out so I don't have to worry that something will be used that shouldn't be. You can use this company with complete confidence that the job will be done right by people who care!

I have been using McClintock for years for seasonal tune ups and maintenance and I went back to them when my downstairs unit needed to be replaced. I got a few quotes and although McClintock was not the cheapest, I went with them due to their professionalism, attention to detail and very pleasant nature of all of their employees. The work ended up taking the better part of three days but after looking at the crawl space when they were done, it looked like they did a lot more then just simply replacing the units. Also, worth mentioning, they came out for a repair a few weeks before we decided to do the replacement and they actually gave me credit for the cost of the repair against the cost of the new unit. I highly recommend this organization and will continue to use them going forward.

Rick was great. He explained everything he did. Took pictures on his phone to show me what he did. Very happy with the job. The cost was a little high, but it was a weekend so I know they charge more.

These guys were professional, on time and did not try to oversell for something we did not need. We had an inferior quality A/C unit put in by our builder. This unit completely failed after 6 six years. McKlintock could have recommended that we replace both the heating and A/C units since they work together. But, they were very honest and recommended only replacing the A/C saying that our lower quality heating unit would still perform for several years. They have responded to a couple of service call on other units since that time and have continued to be a quality provider.

Fifteen year old gas furnace would not come on. The combustor assembly had failed. They diagnosed and repaired the furnace the same day. The furnace is working great now.

They were one of the least expensive companies that I contacted. They were just great - very professional. They were also extremely thorough - they did a full load analysis on my house to make sure I was getting the correct system. We actually found out that we had to go down a size. They also accepted the Trane rebate, the Duke Energy rebate, and the Angie's List coupon.

Very professional and polite always. We have been using the for two years. No problems at all.

They always go above and beyond. They are uprfront and honest. We will continue to use them for a long time.

The representative was very professional and looked over everything. He gave me a price for replacing the unit as it was configured but when asked about installing the airhandler in a different configuration quoted a $500.00 additional cost to do this. They were significantly higher priced than my lowest bid for an equivalent system including the reconfiguration.

I have never dealt with anyone quite as good. They were totally and absolutely great. Everything about them was honest and as good as it could have possibly been. You should not hesitate to call them.

They were able to locate parts quickly and complete the repair as a warranty on the system. We are pleased with the timeliness and quality of the work they completed. We have used them again for our annual heating and cooling checks.

I cannot say enough about this company and the great experience I had from start to finish. My old plenums needed replacing and needed some air supply pipes extended to exterior as I have a sealed crawl space. The process of getting estimates was arduous and confusing except for McClintock. Randy was fantastic, very helpful, listened to my concerns, provided options and a detailed, itemized estimate. The other estimates were outrageous and vague, I also felt the competitors were constantly trying to up sell or con me. Randy was also very patient and responsive as I bombarded him with a number of followup questions that helped set my mind at ease so I could make a qualified decision. I awarded McClintock the job, Brian the Project Manager came out ahead of the install date and walked through the process and details with me. 2 days later the McClintock team arrived on time and got to work with the install. By end of day the work was complete and cleaned up well. Right after they left I discovered the main furnace thermostat wouldn't come on. A quick call and they had a tech out there - just had not flipped the unit switch to on - minor oversight. Brian came back out and followed up with a thorough inspection of work post install. A separate issue occurred right before this project took place (with the condensation pump on the main furnace). I called another company to address it as they had installed the pump. The pump was failing and water was backing up into my sealed crawl space. Apparently there was debris in the pump causing the problem. 24 hrs later I had the same problem. Two visits and two techs later I got 2 different stories as to possible causes and numerous recommendations including replacing the whole house humidifier which they claimed had a leak, required parts replacement and wasn't under warranty. Estimate $2600. I decided to ask for a second opinion from McClintock instead. Turns out a coil on humidifier was slightly loose requiring tightening, but condensation pump was failing (dead in fact), had a leak and was angled incorrectly which barred the safety valve from shutting off the system as it was supposed to do. They replaced my pump (much more reasonable and much appreciated), also vacuumed out the standing water and toweled dry the space for me. The service techs were informative, answered my questions without a sales pitch and very professional. No confusing suppositions or vague estimates, no runarounds, no up selling... just getting the job done. I had McClintock give me a detailed estimate for annual maintenance for my 3 systems. The cost is more expensive than their competition but includes everything including humidifier and pump maintenance along with other perks. My old company was cheaper BUT they up-charged for pump and humidifier maintenance so it ends up being a wash. You get what you pay for... but with McClintock you get more value for your money. McClintock will have my business and referrals moving forward.

They thought it was a clogged drain and charged $180 to repair it. Turns out it wasn't the drain but the air conditioner shot. I would have preferred that they given me a proper diagnosis and not charged me $180 for a worthless repair.

Went fine. The cleaning service was helpful.

Excellent service - did what was necessary and took the time to clean the outside of the A/C unit, too. He also explained things well. And he took the time to go up in my hot attic to check the furnace area for a leak. Addittional cost for necessary freon.

What a wonderful way to end a miserably hot day! And thank goodness for Angie's List! My daughter's AC stopped about mid-afternoon and after she turned it off a while in case it was freezing up, she finally gave up and I went straight to Angie's List. We have a new friend in Danny! We had had several visits from our previous AC people, each one costing more and none of them fixed the problem. Danny was quick, thorough, and knew what he was doing. We didn't have to dig for information, as he explained everything he was doing clearly and concisely. Not only did he know what was wrong quickly, he was also a pleasure to work with - honest and polite. We now have a permanent heat and air service with McClintock and I see no reason to keep any other numbers on file! They will now be providing service for both my house and my daughter's. I will be happy to refer them to my friends who need them.

I am a professional very familiar with the building trades so I have high standards and high expectations. The work inside and outside was flawless and they completed many small extras just to make the overall installation better (like replacing the existing plastic overflow pan with a metal pan). The old system was inoperable, and it took a week to get an install date - however they helped us out with window units to get us through until the install date. I plan to have them replace the same equipment on my downstairs system.

When they installed the system for at my in-laws they finished the work on a Friday and then were gone for the weekend. My in-laws are older and we needed to make sure they would not be stuck in the heat. There was an issue over the weekend and they did not have anyone to work on it. They had to put in portable units until someone could fix the problem. They did in the end get everything working and came right out to address the issues. In the maintenance service they found things that my previous company had not done. McClintock does a much more thorough service for the maintenance contract.

A technician from this provider arrived on time and came close to determining the exact cause of the failure. He narrowed it down to a couple potential issues. Both costly. Since the heat worked sometimes and it was getting warmer outside, I decided not to fix until next winter.

I'm very pleased with our choice of McClintock to replace our aging heat pumps. We replaced two entire systems (heat pumps, air handlers, thermostats, etc.), one of which was resized and zoned to accommodate an addition on our first floor. I found McClintock to be professional at every step of the process, from their well-informed salesperson, thru installation, the post-installation follow-up, and support for receiving tax rebates. This is a first rate organization with exceptional employees. Based on my experience, I would recommend McClintock to anyone considering having HVAC work done.
